Fizzydog Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 Sunyan waited by his phone, his palms sweating. Tonight, the elected president would be announced. The winner. The leader. The founding father. It turned 8:00 pm, the time that the elections would be called. The winner made official. He reached for his phone, but stopped himself. He was to wait like a gentleman and not call the vote counters. As second after dreadful second pass,ed he began to pray more and more. Allah, please. I have been faithful. Let me rule the Turkish people, please...please.... The phone suddenly rang, startling him and causing the possible new ruler to bang his knee on the hard, wooden desk that sat in front of him. Sunyan cursed, then stared at the phone. It rang a second time, then a third, then a fourth. He finally picked it up. "Y-y-yes?" "Sunyan, get ready. Tomorrow you will lead to nation to indepedence." He banged his knee once again. ---------------------------------------------------- "Aye aye aye, Mr. Ottoman, wake up! Do you want to be late for your inagruation?" A young woman in full Islam attire shook the sleeping Ottoman. "Oh dear! What time is it? I wanted to be woken up at 4:00 am exact!" Sunyan shot straight up from bed, searching for his glasses and watch. "Sir, it is 4:15, try to wake up when I tell you to! You cannot sleep another minute longer!" "Oh my, quit nagging me woman! Quick, quick, get my coffee! Where are my clothes? Did you wash and fold them like I asked?" The new president sat up in bed, franticly throwing open the closest closet to find his clothes. "Goodness, someone is grumpy! Your clothes are over there. I'll get you your coffee. Wash up. Breakfest is in half on hour. Eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes orange juice and coffee. Quick, in the shower with you!" The woman picked him up by the arm and pushed him towards his bathroom. Sunyan tripped over a basket and fell on his face. "Are you trying to kill me, my crazy intern?" The Ottoman yelled, but he grinned anyway. Sunyan picked himself off the floor and headed into the bathroom as the intern rolled her eyes, then headed downstairs to assist the cooks in preparing breakfest. -------------------------------- Sunyan Ottoman jogged down the stairs, dressed in a traditional commander uniform of the Ottoman Empire, to honor his past family. He walked into the kitchen, and sat at the head chair. Around the table sat his two children, both very tired, his wife, two of his ten brothers, his mother and father and three sets of aunts and uncles. They clapped and cheered as he sat down, his father proudly grinning at him. "Oh, Sunyan, you were always so ambitious about politics. I remember when you were but a young child, you used to sit down and pretend to rule Turkey, commanding your toy soldiers to control the world. I am so proud of you!" His mother smiled and him and kissed his head. "Sunyan! I always knew you would be a good politician, but not this good!" His uncle laughed. "Oh, thank you all. It's so great to have you all here. Too bad my other eight brothers couldn't make it. Shame they didn't have the time or money to get here by 5:00 am! My oh my, this breakfest is early!" Sunyan yelled. "Well, Sunyan, I certainly am here, as is Adri. We just couldn't miss it! My wife and kids decided to stay home though. Oh, brother, I am so proud of you!" One brother from the end of the table replied. "Of course you are. Now, family, let us bless Allah for this wonderful opportunity he has given me! My oh my, am I lucky to rule this beautiful, wonderful..." Sunyan began weeping. His family, too, wept. Wept of happiness and shock and sadness. Wept of everything. "Now." Said Sunyan, wiping his tears away. "Lets have breakfest! Ooh, my, Mrs. Çelik, this looks delicious! Where is my coffee you promised? Ha ha! Come on people, let us feast!" Sunyan began dishing out pancake after pancake, hashbrowns by the dozen, and enough eggs to fill a country. A feast it was. ----------------------------------------------------------- Sunyan Ottoman I, surrounded by family and supporters, stepped towards a podium. in front of him stood hundred of thousand of Turks, waving the Turkish flag. They chanted his name and cheered him on, and he responded by waving at the audience. More cheers erupted form the crowd. Sunyan raised his hand to silence them. He moved the microphone closer to his mouth, smiling. "People of Rebel Army, we have long been treated with generosity. For years we have lived in peace, in comfort and in riches. Our beautiful land of Turkey has, for long, sat lazily under Rebel rule, allowing ourselves to be controlled by the wonderful, loving government of Israel. But now, we see hope in a chance for Independence. My friends, brothers and sisters, we for long have been divided, living our lives as the innocent, well treated people we are. But now, as we see the light, we must unite! We, as Turkey, our striving, thirsting, hungering for our goal of independence! And for now, we have gained one more step towards complete soveriegnity! Turks, Kurds, and others! We must take advantage of our high tech economy, our incredible living conditions, our peacefulness! We shall be united as the Republic of Turkey, living in harmony among the nations of the world! My fellow citizens, you have elected me as your leader. But I am not the only person who must act in order to gain our international respect. We must all allow ourselves to take the responsibility, hard work and sweat it takes to keep a nation thriving! The people are the heart and soul of the nation. Every person, from fast food workers to musicians, are equally important in securing our country's life! To gain respect, we must give it. Be polite to your fellow citizen! Have honor and pride of Turkey, and learn to love your brothers! We shall allow foreign religion, language, culture and ideas to run without hate throughout our nation. None should be discriminated against for their clothing, accent or religion! None shall be judged and insulted based on their looks, their culture, their music. We must learn to accept and learn to love. We must learn. Education and medical service are the top priority. Next comes the goal of capitalism, the freedom and enjoyment of buying what you want and earning your own pay check! But to keep the capitalist idea running, we must educate our peoples! We must provide them with the highest medical services! To be healthy and educated is to be happy. Our nation shall focus funding on our schools and hospitals. There is never too much knowledge. And how could I forget our glorious military? The shiny boots, the perfect uniforms! For now it is but a dream, but soon reality. We shall focus honer and respect with our military. We will teach them of mercy and kindness, of peacekeeping and prisoner taking. For we do not wish to kill. If our nation ever falls victim to the horror of war, our troops will revolutionize it with kindness and love. For war should not be taken lightly. We must all do our best to keep war humane. Our military will patrol our streets and swear alledgiance to the peoples! For our nation shall not fall to imperialism or hate. We will all contribute towards keeping our military full of honor and bravery. Allah, bless us! Peoples, the Republic of Turkey is granted one step more towards complete soveriegnity! Rejoice!" The crowd erupted in cheers, crying and laughter. Turkey was born. Quote
Centurius Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 **Classified** Keeping in mind the past hostilities that had existed between Turkey and Greece a new Turkish state was not welcome nor appreciated. While there wouldn't be any threatening moves the amount of borderguards were increased and orders were made for increased defenses. Quote
