I won't lie..I was in shock when I saw the announcement when I woke up today......I have spent most of the day attempting to find a way I could justify the course of action that my former alliance has taken. In the current political climate I can't.
I furiously verbally attacked TOP for the same action that MK has taken.
I worked for 2 years to help get MK off the NPO black list, to prevent things like this from happening.
It all saddens me, if there is ever an alliance where the idea that the members don't speak for alliance policy only the leader does that was MK. However it seems Archon has been taking talking points from the outspoken and sometimes juvenile members. When I was in gov, we used to chastize Londo for his hair brained schemes to attack NPO. In fact, if I am to believe certain rumors, it was one of the reasons that Athens and MK originally split because people thought attacking NPO was not worth it. If it was bad then, why is it good now?
With this disappointment I will not do as others have and immediately switch sides and make them my enemy like Tyga and others have. This fight really has no bearing on me other than it puts my allies =LOST= in a terrible position due to MK's declaration on CCC.
I also won't deny that it isn't plausible that STA and Polar were deploying their allies in such a way as to stop Pacifica from getting involved. See STA treaty with TPF and Polar's treaty with Legion. However, paranoia is not an excuse for war and I do not condone preemptive strikes.
For those claiming MK has turned into an entity as bad as the NPO was, let me say this. YOU ARE FOOLS. You do not remember the lengths they would go through to roll an alliance or keep an alliance down. GPA, GATO, Legion, FAN...etc.....
I still have respect for GOONS. I am hoping I can bring myself to respect MK again. The game is not dead and you are not the judge jury and executioner. There was already no hope of the NPO to regain the power it once had and you are fooling yourselves if you think that was true.
This was a relatively rambling post but you all get the idea.
I wish you a good fight and hope you know what the hell you are doing because I haven't a clue.

Thinking about firing this up in podcast form. I don't have the time to deal with the full blown radio station. Is there still interest in this? Any interesting people interested in being guests?
The open invite to Admin to come on as a guest is always there. Yes Kevin, THAT WAS A HINT.

Since my side of the war has been attempting to get people to the table to negotiate every night for the last 10 days that the blog posts about how evil we are have stopped. What? Did you guys all run out of material? Or are we evil now for negotiating?
Also to TSO, your war declaration reasons on your recent feeble attempt at a counter attack (10 attacks in 13 hours) on Genesis has people in Checkmate that were receptive to working out arrangements for reps that would make exit easy on you guys change their opinions. Slapping those in the face you are at the negotiating table with is not a way to get favorable terms. Wouldn't be surprised if you saw your price tag rise in the future. Respect and civility actually goes a long way with those of us in Checkmate given the fact that most of us have been around the game for a lot longer than most and we are pretty old school in our thinking.

    First Topic:
Differences between wars now and wars prior to Karma
For the most part, depending on what alliance is doing the negotiations, alliances that entered on treaty obligations alone are getting off with white peace with no reps. Before Karma, anyone who lost would be subjected to reps and terms.
People are able to keep their treaties. This kinda started before Karma when NPO let C&G keep treaties after the noCB war but it was in full effect with Karma and beyond.
Wars are lasting longer and that is good for just about everyone. More fighting, more debating, less cold wars.
Because of overall reduction in terms handed down, wars are happening more frequently.
Sides for the most part are generally unchanged. People are sticking to their old standbys and not venturing out to make new friends. On this, I can admit, is harder to do than say. I have tried making new friends outside of the old ones but most of the time you can't come to a consensus because how you view each others friends. It's just the way things work.
There are people and alliances who came into the game on top and allied with those who were on top for 3 years who are having a hard time not being the dominant power on the planet. This is evident in some of their posts. Where when they were on top they tried to portray themselves as being moderate and sympathetic, now that they are on the other side of the perceived power scale they are coming across as bitter and angry.

    Topic 2:
    Have I changed?
I would like to think I am the same tell it how it is kind of person I have always been but I have noticed recently that others seem to be lashing out at me more. I have no issues with this it is the name of the game. But at the same time I wonder if I have changed for the worst. If I think someone has been wronged, I will stand up for them. If I think someone has been stupid, I let them know. I argue with the facts as I see them.
This is the way I have always been and it is the way I will always be.

    Bonus Topic!
Reviews: WTH people, if when I was and am on the receiving end of surrender terms I would have killed to have one like doing a review. It's easy. None of you complained when the NPO had MK do some propaganda for them at the end of the noCB war? Seriously people?

I am in the process of traveling until Feb 24th. So forgive me if a few of my opinions here seem uninformed.
I have learned a few things from reading the forums sporadically and popping in and out of IRC when I have time.
Someone peed in Methrage's cornflakes. My guess is Stumpy.
According Syzygy here: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=80555 it is ok for one of his friends to walk up to another one of his friends and blast them across the face with a 2x4 for no reason. He will also support said friend with 2x4.
For as many alliances that RON and TOP put on C&G you would think that C&G's stats would be falling more than they have.
1 in every 250 Alterego posts have a point. But the rest are just rubbish and people usually miss that one good point because of it. Alterego, I love you man, but use your head sometimes bud.
I don't blame Ivan for getting mad over propaganda because I have as well....but relax dude, that's why it's propaganda.
I believe that TORN, IRON, and TOP should be required to pay some reps for the preemptive attack that they launched. Anyone else that entered on a legitimate treaty should be let off because they are only honoring the documents they signed.
The only term that should be imposed on Polar should be that Grub should have to step down immediately. This whole situation can be tracked to bad decision after bad decision on his part.
Anyone who thinks that C&G will break up before the war ends is being silly. C&G is a brotherhood that this game has not seen since the early days of Polar and Pacifica. They have to be for putting up with Londo's shenanigans.
If everyone agreed on things, there wouldn't be much here to keep bringing us back. So enjoy the chaos, the game is pretty freaking exciting right now for those of you who are forum active. All I ask is that you use common sense.
That is all I have for now.
Good luck have fun, save some targets for me after the 24th.

I find it interesting that the same people who argued that Athens attacking TPF over a 6 month old CB was wrong are the same people that are now supporting an offensive war with no cause other than "they looked at us funny" against C&G.
I find NSO members rather amusing.
I am baffled by the tactics used by Polar and TOP and co.
None of us have the right to call our opponents hypocrites.
Bob Janova's posts this war are making him look like a fool.
MK and TOP are having a boatload of fun with this war.
Stumpy is not just the god of purple but the god of all of us.
That is all I got for now..........
Go Ronin! Good luck BAPS! Suck it TOP.

I like leading Ronin. Things are coming together nice and I have a great collection of members with various backgrounds in Cybernations. I honestly expected to be a 1 man alliance for a bit before gaining members. I am thankful for what I have so far and can't say enough about how much fun I am actually having with this.
  8. AirMe
Welp, I have reformed Ronin and it's back to life as a small alliance leader. I am looking forward to the future and can't wait to see what it brings. I need more members though so I can set up a provisional government up and get this show on the road.
As things develop I will try to post more blogs.
