  1. I'm impressed. Congratulations on being the first alliance to send a recruitment letter to my first new nation in like 5 years, RainbowKitten. (Galerion gets credit for this one, like 10 minutes after I signed up.) And, Junka - I am quite pleasantly surprised to see you here. I need a tech circle, help to grow, and the ability to actually play this thing in an interesting way and not sit around in an annoyingly impenetrable bloc incessantly collecting infra and tech. Is there still an element of the fifth column? If so, you may have a recruit. Let me know. -FF, intending to be a CN badass.
  2. Does your alliance actually do something involved and interesting other than sit around, do nothing, collecting infra and tech? Yeah, then, recruit me. I've been off Cybernations for years, but want to introduce the illustrious new nation of RainbowKitten! My history: I played between 2006-2011 during some of the greatest times of Cybernations, have taken leadership in alliance governments, and seek to re-invest myself a bit into the game. What I'm looking for: A reasonably active alliance with a massive signing-bonus (with which you'll actually follow through), as well as the ability to for me to collect countless millions in a tech circle. Is that your alliance? Does your alliance pay well for tech to new nations? I'm your guy. I need to build, build, build, so here we go! I send tech, you send $$$. That said, it's about more than that-- let's declare a revolution on the status quo of "boring" that screwed CN to begin with. Let's get me in your tech circle and build the strength of our alliance, shall we? (By the way, I like iconoclastic and politically savvy alliances too.) Oh, and by the way big empires: I might betray you eventually.
  3. As a member of IAA since 2006, a time when we were strong allies with Legion fighting in one of the earliest great wars, I was sad to see my home diminish lately. It strangely felt like a piece of me was dying-- even in RL. Reading this thread, however, is awesome. It warms my spirit, and serves as a reminder of what a gigantic impact this alliance truly had. It's astonishing to see people I once recruited years ago heading alliances. It's amazing to see how widespread and far-reaching the impact of this strong-minded, strong-willed group of people really is. IAA recruited and produced the most passionate CN players-- those with a mind of their own. When an alliance was ZI'd, or curb-stomped, oftentimes the best players knew exactly where they could go to find refuge. In turn, we often had the most dynamic and outspoken leadership in the CN world-- a relatively small-to-midsized alliance carried many of the best players this game ever saw. I am glad to have had any opportunity at all to learn from and play alongside these greats-- these giants of CN who made their impacts everywhere. Today, I am warmed in spirit to see a huge outpouring from former IAA members from alliances all over the treaty web. To know our Diaspora lives on in other places-- spread like seeds to the wind-- tells me something special will come of this. Sometimes you have to die in order to live. Sometimes you have to spread your legacy and your way of existing to all corners of Cybernations to win the game. Believe it or not... I think IAA has won. ...We held to an ethos during a time when it wasn't popular. That ethos is everywhere on Planet Bob today. I guess you win and then you die... Thank you for the outpouring of support from our allies, friends, and adversaries-- especially from our eternal friends in GATO, LOSS, TLR, and more. My home is now GATO-- long live that great Spanish cat in the sky! --flowingfire, off to retire in CN's big furry brown heaven EDIT: LMAO, my AA still says Vox Populi on here. Oh, history.
  4. If he wrote this whole thing, I am thoroughly impressed. If any part of the code is based on EZRPG or another GNU script, however, sharing the source code may be a part of the original license agreement. If that's the case, I officially request the source code for his adaptation. LOL- I think it's unethical to hack a game, so don't worry. That would be as stupid as cheating at Monopoly-- completely pointless and childish. I'm just interested in the PBBG genre and how it's implemented.
  5. I think it's the open source script called EZRPG modified. Is this correct? If so, would I be able to see the modifications by request under the GNU license?
  6. Hi there. I'm curious if Cybernations is an independently written script, or if it's based off of another script/engine. I found some similar RPG scripts, but am not sure which one this is... If it's a unique one, KUDOS to the creators! I'm interested in making RPGs and stuff.
  7. I was just curious whether or not your nation can be deleted if you sign in from a public computer. I just did that, and was like, "oh crap!." What if somebody else using CN was on these campus computers? Anyway, I've never cheated! I promise! Is CN hard-$@! about this, or is there a bit of leniency regarding campus networks and such... (I can imagine there are entire college campuses with a handful of external IP addresses where entire dorm floors are using CN.)
  8. What happens if you don't log on every day? What if you forget for a week? What happens? Do your bills not get paid, or do you just have to pay them all when you get back with accumulated money? Is there a penalty to not logging on every day? What's the drawback. Do you lose improvements? Just curious. Thx.
  9. Hi. I just tried searching the forums, and it didn't work. What I'm trying to figure out is if I can attack a nation called "Marcus Nation" or not with the ruler "marcus." I have been told by people in my alliance that it's a an admin nation just like it says. But I can't search to find out what it says here on the forums. Why is search not working? Is it just me?
  10. Ok. Thanks for the reply. As a startup nation, it was negatively affecting the economy. So for the time being I may have to be a bit inconsistent. Soon enough, I'll make the nation embrace Islam, dangit, even if it means building a bazillion-dollar national temple. OH, and what do you mean that I'll be able to change it soon enough? Is there something you can do in the game? Or is somebody going to update the software to make religion more mailable? -Whackostan
  11. Hello again, I just begrudgingly switched my nation's religion from "Islam" to "Voodoo" because my nation demanded it. What the heck? I created a country with a bunch of people of the Arab nationality, put it in the most Islamic part of the world, and then attempted to make their religion Islam. I did this to be consistent and to create a nation that's truly consistent in character... Instead I have a strange mix that doesn't make much sense now. Why are people that obviously ought to be Muslim demanding a completely polytheistic religion that is a complete opposite to the one I tried to establish for the country? If somebody has the codes to do it, please change my country's preferred religion to "Islam" to fit with the character of the country I created. Heck, I just want my country to make sense... Or does the country's preference change over time based on your actions?
  12. LOL. Okay, thanks everyone. I guess my nation needs taxes to grow in this setup. Thanks for all the creative suggestions, too. The citizens of Whackostan won't be happy about it, but as long as I keep the tax rate at its very lowest, I'm sure they'll understand. -The proud, humble people of Whackostan
  13. I'm attempting to model my nation on the most strict sects of Islam and Islamic law. This requires my nation, Whackostan, not to have any taxes. Unfortunately, in this game, such a thing is not an option. Is it possible to model national funding on something other than taxes for the purposes of implementing tax-free fundamentalist Islamic law? My citizens demand it! Whackostan's constituency wants to overthrow me for having any taxes at all-- 10%? Yuck. No taxes for the faithful!!! Death to taxes! Death to taxes! Get rid of the exploitation! Sincerely, -Whackostan
