Like he said. By joining you are lending your nation for the government's use for them to do what they think is the best choice. Therefore, it's no longer your nation when you're in an alliance. Thus, when your leaders screw up, you screwed up. You made a bad choice, perhaps it was just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but justice was never meant to be fair.

I'm in need of some money, so working on selling some of my tech. I have 500 tech for sale at a rate of 3mil per 100 tech. I currently need to money to get my nation stabilized again, and will send tech out after 10 days. Not as fancy, but believe me. NATO is by far the best. We will even offer you 3mil upon completing an extremely easy and informative Cadet program teaching you the ins and outs of CN. I've been in a bunch of alliances so far, but NATO has been the best. If you are new, NATO is the best. If you've been around the block a couple of times, NATO is still by far the best.
