1.
Oh, so THAT'S why you're called the Last Republic.....
That is indeed a very clever one, good job dear sir!
 2. Hey congrats, though for some odd reason I thought this was already the case, guess I should keep up with the news more often
 3. Wow those are some corny jokes there.... darn it now they got me doing it. Well we shall see how long it takes before the cornhole jokes start rolling out. Good luck to you all!
 4.
There's no way to of clearly conveying in character that "this is a game and the aim should be to have fun" as a motive for your IC actions.
Therein lies a part of the problem as I see it with what happened. Not everyone plays this game IC as a game. OOC I am quite aware it is a game, however the fun I derive is not from the same source as you, the fun I and some others derive from the game is from roleplaying our IC persona as if this was NOT a game and in fact was real. I drew quite a few old high school and college buddies to this game precisely because it was like model UN back in the day. The fun of that was the challenge of acting out a persona correctly. Personally I was quite glad for the brief breather, which everyone else called stagnation, in that environment I can devote several hours per day or a few minutes per month. It is far more lax and free on ones schedule, whereas during war it becomes a heavy burden time sink, essentially a chore rather than a game. If it is just a game then stress on one's RL certainly seems contrary to the goal of escapism. During long periods of peace whenever I felt the need to blow up some pixels I would jump over to TE and play that world as just a game. While I agree with you about EZI and community destroying terms (those being essentially over the top means of maintaining control over the world). I cant agree about some of the other stuff, I mean you can not have fun role playing a villain without someone role playing the moral outrage at your behavior. Likewise you can not roleplay a white knight, without an evil to vanquish.
 5.
I admit calling them cowards is exaggerating it a bit. But not defending multiple allies on the same side isn't something to be proud of either.
Depends upon how one looks at it, if they dont agree with the cause, then yes standing up and saying that they wont fight and help that cause can be something to be proud of.
 6.
Then call me stupid. Until they get off their ass and back up their MDP partners they are nothing but cowards.
You really don't know Valhalla. Those that do may not agree with their decisions, but no better than to ever mistake their motivation behind those decisions as anything close to cowardice.
 7.
I hear the wagon is fun when you band. Your initial wars were less than impressive. YouFail.
That is some real classy hypocrisy you got going on there. Much love for UPAC
 8. My word, UPAC!?! That is amazing, how have you been!?1
 9.
I honestly don't know what to say here. I'm still half-asleep. I feel like I got drunk last night and did something I shouldn't have.
LOL, that is pretty funny
 10.
But to many, the values embodied in Vox never meant a thing. They were merely rhetoric to be used by those who themselves desired what NPO had, and what it was able to do.
Though I and many have often disagreed with your positions, it is this, the fact that you believed and practiced the values which you preached that led I and many to respect Schattenmann and yourself. It is precisely those whom use embodied values as mere rhetoric to be discarded when no longer convenient whom now rule, and deserve no such respect.
I don't think anyone for one second believed that MK was here to save the world, I did expect more from Archon than Everything must die. Kiddies with social problems have been running the show for too long, they have a limited attention span and they have decided it is time to destroy everything. That's fine by me. Hopefully we can all ascend this time.
There in lies the problem, much as stated by others such as here:
If you don't care anymore, why destroy that which others care for? Many times in my childhood, I would try to play games with my family. Those games would end when one party stopped caring. When the rules and the play money meant nothing. Politics is at times called a great game among nations, but with real soldiers instead of chessmen. If that's the case, I hate to see what happens when the 'smash the board' clique really takes hold.
Everyone expected more, but rather instead got maladjusted children who decide to smash every one else's things to entertain themselves at others expense whenever they lose interest. Thus we now witness a global "flip the board" by people who no longer care and are upset they can not take their toys home to ruin everyone else's day. 11.
Yeah... And also by the total NS each alliance is facing.
Indeed, #2 is sort of the Map to who are the cowards and who are the heroes. It certainly is a clear display of who has strong leanings toward being poultry...
 12. Good job Seipher, nice work, thanks from everyone!
 13. Good on you Tyga, though as Locke mentions, this is not the first time this has been brought up, and to failure. Thus congrats for saying what so many feel, and provoking the conversation, kudos! In regards to the topic. I hail from Avalon, and since we are small many are probably unfamiliar with just how anti-treaty we have been for our entire existence. Case in point we refuse to even call them treaties (we use the term Oathe of Brotherhood as we feel it better describes it), but we have rejected dozens of offers, and have taken in with few others. To us a treaty is NOT a means of advancing a political agenda for the world, but rather a sign of lasting friendship, respect, or relationship between the two alliances. Perhaps therein lies the problem, rather than treat a treaty as an insurance policy one holds with a friend, people treat them as a means of shaping the battlefield of the next global war to further their political aims. Again back to Avalon's philosophy, ALL elements of our Oathes are optional, based upon our value system. We inform our friends of such going into things, and we expect nothing less in return. Meaning if we find ourselves on opposing sides of a world coalition, no hard feelings, as we each are fighting for what we believe, and well we would not want to be friends with someone if they did not do that. I would argue that the problem stems from coalition fights, not being ACTUAL coalition fights. Instead you have alliance A declares on alliance B, then C and D declare on A, so E declares on C, etc etc. We get a giant game of paper-rock-scissors, and tons of people walk away angry and hurt. Instead a true coalition would involve EVERYONE on the side of Alliance A declaring on Alliance B, C, and D, not just stemming on the outside. Sure it would still involves applying pressure with slots to certain groups, but this convoluted structure just breeds abuse of a treaty system. Bottom line, if an alliance is involved in the current conflict as part of the VE side, then declare war on Polar and EVERYONE on the other side, joining EVERYONE on the VE side, if an alliance is really on the Polar side, then declare war on VE and EVERYONE on their side joining EVERYONE on the VE side. If you want to support your friends who are fighting in the one of the coalitions, join up with them, if you dont want to fight for that side than dont. If you have friends on both sides and are so worried about fighting against one or the other, than stay out, because clearly you dont care enough about either cause to fight for it, you care more about not engaging your friends. However what we have today is a system wherein Global conflicts and coalition wars over ideals, are really just being treated as if they were a bunch of small scale conflicts, which if that is the case they should be treated as being unrelated to one another, and issues such as the SF situation should not exist. I man if SF members simply happened to involve themselves in two separate unconnected wars at the same time, no big deal right? So why the complaining? Oh because people see actual 'sides' and a split, despite people not stepping up and actually fighting for a "side" but for a 'friend' or 'treaty'. If you are fighting for a friend/treaty not an ideal, then you are NOT part of the coalition.
 14.
Things would be so much easier if alliances acted in a more straight forward manner. Just say you're attacking because you dislike the alliance you are attacking or feel that their interests and yours don't match and you want to resolve this on the battlefield. So much better for avoiding farces such as this.
This would be a refreshing change, however it makes for poor propaganda to garner up a curbstomp as compared to "we were wronged come friends help us avenge ourselves". If alliances started wars based upon the truth, they might actually have to risk losing (can't have that now can we).
I support your goals here, in that right should be "right" enough on its own, without needing to be backed up by might. Good luck.
I know that I have said it before, but I like you.
Karma was a convenient little buzzword that seemed appropriate and was a convenient banner to rally round, that's all it ever was. So can we please drop this terrible rhetoric that dates back almost two years ago? I feel like this is in every other post I read when it has something to do with an alliance that fought with the Karma coalition doing ~bad things~ Give it a rest and find a new party line. This one is as old, tired and ineffective as UPN is.
No, the community at large won't be dropping it. Regardless of actual intent, the term was used as a rallying cry to gather sufficient forces for the cause based upon ideals. Whether those ideals were real or not for you, they were for some, and thus those who served under the banner will forever be judged by those values which the term implies and compared to the values and behaviors of those whom the term was applied against. On planet Bob as anyone knows, one may use any banner or rally cry they wish, however if they pay only lip service and diverge from it, or down the line fall short of it, they will be judged for and called out on it. It will not be dropped, it will not be forgotten, and it will never be put to rest so long as the initiator remains out of line with what they proclaimed to be. If there were members of Karma, not willing to or intending to live up to the ideals of Karma that draw the true believers, then when they chose to use the moralistic banner, they should have been prepared to hear the comparison again and again the rest of their lives.
 15.
If this war goes badly we could call it noPB.
Honestly we could call it that either way, so long as this is not a reference to a PB loss. Seeing as this is quite reminiscent of the noCB war (most especially in respects to Polar), many people have proposed calling it noCB II, etc, others are are quite opposed in a large part because noCB is not universally as well recognized as some other names. Calling it noPB, is a homage to the noCB relationship, while not outright duplicating it, as well as inclusive of the central antagonists of polar and PB.
This is the Meatloaf War. Alliances seem to keep singing the same tune when it comes to liking the CB... "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)". Or, when honoring treaties, "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad." Some people hit Peace Mode like a "Bat Out of Hell". And, for everyone not yet in the war, they're "All Revved Up with No Place to Go." This is the Meatloaf War. I wanna know right now! Do you love me? Will you honor my treaty? ... Let me sleep on it Baby baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it I'll launch a stagger in the morning...
While absolutely hilarious, the trouble is that much like the suggestion "Cluster^#%* War", nearly EVERY war includes such elements. On pure craziness and meatloaf songs, this war has not yet surpassed many previous wars, therefore neither is really appropriately unique.
Everything Must Die War
"EMD War" lol I like that one mate, that would be a very good one, but would be more appropriate if this: #1 stayed balanced enough and lasts long enough that serious damage is caused to most all of the participants (not just a single side as is usually the case, since then it is "less than half of everything died") and #2 grew in size enough to be the biggest war in history. If you will recall Karma peaked at including essentially half of all the nations on the planet, over half the officially recognized alliances, and more than half of all the nukes and NS on the planet. BiPolar was similarly close to such as well. Thus any war that fails to at least pass those ratios, just cant be really be the "everything must die war". Now something that keeps cropping up is the play on PB initials as peanut butter, for example even in the stats thread:
No offense Polar guys PB - peanut butter Polar's side - Jelly PB and J
I feel that this is probably the best theme for a working title, and I know I have seen it creeping into IRC often (or at least a massive increases in "Its Peanut Butter Jelly Time" jokes, imagery, and videos). So if we have to pick one it seems that the community has already gone with the "Peanut Butter Blueberry Jelly Time War" theme....
 16. I recognize a bunch of those names Congratulations to both of you!
 17.
I am the Bad for those that have a real idea of what I have done for many years on Bob you are aware most of my work is not for public disclosure. It also should not come as a surprise to very many that I have had a part in a large variety of black operations over the years. I have never been exposed nor has anyone who has ever worked for me.
Sorry I just couldn't resist, after reading this I kept waiting for someone somewhere in this thread to use a ninja meme. Had to be done mate, had to be done!
In conclusion if your going to set somebody up do it right. Doing it the VE way just makes you look like an idiot.
Spying, you're doing it wrong?
 18.
What I can deduce from this is that people really hate blacks and purps.
Welcome to the sphere, you are now truly one of us, one of us, one of us....
 19.
Not exactly VE-Polar (just generally related to that war), but meh.
Haha QC, that is pretty hilarious.
 20.
This isn't RAD.
I know, and thats just not rad!
 21. Indeed the Rosular Kingdom has been busy lately. Those Menotah folks seem like fine people and a fine addition to a list of friends. Congratulations to both parties, may you continue to work well alongside one another.
 22. Indeed congratulations, however yes, if this is RAD, where be the Panther?
