You were probably using the same IP as your roommate since he's in the same room as you. CN automatically cancels trades to each other on the same IP in case multis trade with each other, I believe.

Your name might be the problem BTW, is this a no-discussion forum as well? Because the Moderation forum is one... If it is, please disregard this post and forgive me for it, since I didn't see anything about the Question Center being non-discussion.
