1. I would rather DoW midday. It allows you to help disguise when your alliance is online and about. Along with that, it is always enjoyable to drop 2 nukes on the 2nd day reset. But DoWing just prior to update is a horrible idea imo. You lose a day's worth of nuke damage on your opponent. With the objective being to destroy your opponent, what take that off the table? Would you rather get an additional nuke in or anarchy him sooner by attacking with a quad? Perhaps it is different at lower ranges, but I haven't been nor have I seen too many anarchies occur to 100K nations who were ready for war. It just doesn't happen as often. An update blitz is effective though for a surprise attack during peace time. You could anarchy most nations with a solid blitz when they have no inkling of impending doom.
2.
How is this supposed to even work? Only like 10% of your alliance is in range of 80% of TSO.
Perhaps they plan on hitting TSO should they ever fall to their range. Maybe have a IRON v Gremlins strategy
3.
Let them come, then. We've planned for this, so let it happen.
Using your own logic regarding IRON should have just attacked you, why didn't you just declare on all of IRON's allies as well? If you are convinced that they will be attacking you, then does this mean you are arrogant too? The reason an alliance doesn't, which I am sure you should be able to figure out, is that the attack would be aggressive in nature and not defensive. This would lead to different treaty paths being followed. And really, what does your alliance really hurt IRON? It isn't like you are going to scare them in the slightest. You have 30 nations total, 20 in war mode and only 13 wars. I mean, what could they be afraid of?
4.
Alright, I'll be more specific. Why in the world do you sign treaties you have no intentions of fighting.
OBR has a history of honoring their treaties. As Hime stated, you may need to review some history. They may not be the aggressor, but they will fight when called upon.
5. Well, some people do. I can't be blamed for trying can I?
6. Have you spoken to your alliance about this? They should be able to have someone help you out. Otherwise, tech dealing works well. Someone sends you $3,000,000 and you send them back 150 tech or whatever else is negotiated over the next few aid cycles. You can't do it all at once but you would send tech every 10 days until all is paid up.

TE Issue

I also just noticed that I have lost 8 tech. I haven't been attacked yet so there is no reason to have a tech loss that I am aware of. I know that I had over 200 tech yesterday morning as I bought level 5 fighters and now I am down to 193. Edit: I had won 2 GAs prior to noticing my tech loss so it appears I lost 11-12 tech Was there a glitch at update? It looks like I deployed exactly at update time down to the second as my screenshot shows 12:00:01

TE Issue

My nation: http://tournament.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=1000741 I just did a max deployment of my military right before update. It said the max amount was 7172 so that is what I went with. When I hit submit, it showed my nation as in anarchy. I haven't been attacked or anything, just straight to anarchy. I have a screenshot of the deployment page if it helps, but I don't see how it would. Any chance someone can clue me in on how this could occur? I have done max deployment during wars around I would say 50 times without this ever happening before. I would also love to have my nation taken out of anarchy too. Can't well defend my alliance when I somehow put myself in anarchy. It will be in anarchy soon enough, I just want to be able to declare a few more wars.
10.
Yes, poor IRON with their 300+ members being bullied by the 40 evil Gremlins...
To me it is very sad to see an alliance that my own was formed to model, at least in part, fall so far. What do you think of the fact that you have lost sooo many members? At one time, didn't you have more than 100? Are you expecting that once this is all over, Gre will regain all of the lost respect throughout Planet Bob? I mean, Gre was the most respected alliance at one point and now half the world despises you.

Sides

Then how are they supposed to change? If they keep their allies who they have been friends with forever, they "choose" to go opposite others. If they try and keep their long time allies, the other side will often reject them for those ties. If they drop their ties in hopes of getting in good with those who have previously opposed them, they get branded like MHA and Sparta for always choosing the winning side. Is there any decent option?

Sides

It seems to me that during every war, people always bring up "so and so" alliance has lined up against us. Is it that alliances fault that their treaty partners before the last conflict and into the present one are the same? Gramlins saying that IRON has consistently stayed on the opposite side of the spectrum from them really makes no sense to me. After a war, should the losing party just tell all their friends to go to hell and suck up to whoever beat them? Should they just attempt to treaty to everyone so that way they can ensure they will survive whatever conflict might come next? I am not really understanding what people are looking for an alliance to do after is loses a war. If they ditch their treaty partners who have stood by them for sometimes years just to suck the teet of whoever just won, they will get ridiculed for doing just that. However, if they do nothing, they get told they are a joke of an alliance because their leadership didn't change sides. Is this just something that will always be? The losers will be told they suck as an alliance no matter what? This just doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone clue me in on what an alliance is actually supposed to do once they surrender? I know sometimes, allies are gained through mutual respect gained fighting on opposite sides. Other times, hatred is forged.
13. No need to feel stupid. It's why I mentioned it as I saw no one else bring it up and it is often forgotten.
14. I have read most of this thread but haven't seen anyone bring up this point regarding Syz or any other nation in peace mode lacking nations they can attack. Matt Miller, for all of his damages is still ranked 13th. The nations ranked 2-4 in IRON that are all in PM currently, are all ranked in the top 250 so there really isn't a shortage of targets.
15. As the previous home to our founders and most of our .gov, it's good to be going back although tough to leave our comfy, clean, SNOW filled home on white. White, I shall miss you
