Because it's even sides now? Winning a war with 4 to 1 odds doesn't make you good. Winning a war with even sides would make you ok.
All Legion has to do is win now.

It doesn't really matter, the entire gambit is to only call in micros to help with the Legion until they finally outnumber them, once that happens Legion either gets stomped by a larger group or calls in it's allies, which is just the excuse half the world needs to stomp Polar and Legion at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more micros/smaller alliances (NsO and BTA don't have posts in the treaty compendium, the only other treaty I see is the MDoAP with LoSS-IAA) to tip the scales firmly in their favor as the final straw to bring out the big dogs.

It's also not like the micros are underfunded or anything.

Also, HAI RoG! I didn't know you were still around :)

I'm now agreeing with Hal, TBB, and have some respect for Legion. The world is truly mad.
No kidding, just add on "Agreeing with WarriorConcept".

Also, Zeke, I like you, I believe you, but I really hope you got screenshots before they just delete all that stuff off their boards and call you a liar. It can and will happen unless you do something about it. JW has never been a particularly bright bulb and I'm not surprised he'd pull something like this.

Certainly not, but surely there could have been something Tetris could have done to avoided the conflict. Legion seemed completely unwilling to do so.

Expelling the !@#$%^& who made the post seemed like a good start, but they "Stood by their members' actions" which is enough for me.

Why, 'twas but a few months ago that we did exactly what Tetris did to them. They didn't mind then so I don't see why they're suddenly flip flopping about it. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to settle for Legion getting rolled by two alliances that are cumulatively half their size. Unless they need to call in allies to deal with we lil' guys.

    I think I'll go with a yes.
Tch, to think I actually had some respect for you guys at one point.

Ahh well, no use talking to a brick wall with no logical mind.

The information was 1) completely useless and had nothing of value in it, and 2) already at least semi-public, so yea, this is definitely more about Legion getting its feelings hurt and being prodded into standing up for its "honor" after months of being harangued and laughed at by most of the people now complimenting them.

If someone had posted this about my alliance and their alliance "stood by them" rather than immediately expelling them, they would be facing an update blitz.

If someone had posted this about NSO and their alliance "stood by them" rather than immediately expelling them, they would be facing an update blitz.

Are you really going to say that just because it's Legion it's somehow not valid?

Lemme take a moment to clarify my position:

I don't care that NSO is in the war, they had a treaty, they hate the Legion, fine. I do care that all of this is being done under some pseudo moralistic shroud attempting to paint Tetris as the victim. Man up and practice what you preach: kick some ass because you can, don't try to justify it with these weak-ass arguments.

  6.
Don't be silly about history, messengers have always been thought of differently as the actual issuer of the message. So it can't possibly be spying. And besides, if it really were a CB, wouldn't someone have used it against the NSO when we did the exact same thing to Legion a few months ago? Why, back then, there wasn't any bother about it all. I'm convinced this was all just a misunderstanding resulting from Tetris' offer to do whatever it takes for Legion to make up for this whole affair. That was nice, but they must have accidentally convinced Legion they did something wrong in the process.
Not really. How many people have been declared upon for "possessing stolen screenshots" or "sharing stolen screenshots". My memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure there have been at least 2 global wars started for those exact reasons.

I honestly don't know what happened between the NSO and Legion a few months ago because I've been on an extended vacation, but I fail to see how it matters. The reality is that Tetris tried to mess with the Legion under the " :smug: do something about it" banner, and something was done. They and you have no right to !@#$%* and moan about it.

  7.
Only the basest of distortions could suggest that Tetris' commitment to freedom of information has anything in common with spying. They're just reporters is all. Wikileaksers, if you prefer. Little block shaped Julian Assanges. I don't see why you think standing up for freedom and newspapers is such a bad idea. And besides, it's not like they published anything hurtful anyway. It was clearly just an excuse for Legion to strut around and pretend it knows when it's a good idea to start wars.

    Also, this:
Then act like the thing you quoted second.

This has to be the most piss-poor excuse I've ever read, and I really hope it's more your vested interest in Tetris talking rather than you just being that incredibly thick.

History has never differentiated between the sources and disseminators of information, they have always been held equally as culpable and subject to the same strong retribution.

Spying is the oldest CB in the world and can hardly be called an unjust one. Tetris is like a 3rd grade kid who stole the 8th grade kid's lunch, spat in his face, and called him names and somehow didn't expect to get punched right in the face. Now they're calling their big brothers in because they've been "unjustly attacked".

I don't begrudge the NSO for going in, in fact I welcome them, the party gets a lot more interesting then, but don't be throwing BS like this around.

  8. You can't un-open Pandora's Box (alliance pun not intended). What's done is done, and you took way too long to address it, now you're paying for what you did.

I have no problem with a big alliance squashing the equivalent of annoying little gnats buzzing around their ears. All you've done is annoy them and attempt to provoke them, and you've done it, bravo.

Even now you don't get that the whole NPO-OV thing was a set up? :lol1:

That NPO could be made to be spun as appearing to attack during peace talks (mostly through the dragging out of said talks for no good reason) was just the cherry on the top the sundae.

Anyway, I've never known NG (or the alliances that came together to form it) to want to have long, meaningful conversations regarding their feelings and emotions about an issue and desiring affirmation through interaction and mutual contemplation. I have seen them shoot people though. Were I at odds with them, I'd assume that they were more prone to do the latter than the former and chose my words carefully. If UPN thought something else...oh boy.
I more than realize that, however it's a good image as to how stuff like that can blow up in your face and make an already terrible situation even worse. That speech, bolstered by the image of NPO attacking during talks galavanized the community against them.

Glad to see you're close to agreeing with my appraisal of NG though.

IIRC I've also personally played that spin before, but not here...

A 400ns nation would certainly tip the scales of a global war.
Yes, it would be a crushing masterstroke for me to destroy nations that you recruited hours ago.

Actually, I don't even remember how to war...better find my old guides, I know they're somewhere around here...

The only miscalculation on our part ( apart from the actual raid ) is that we did not realise this was an ultimatum.
Are you guys just really dense or did they just up and say "fine, see you tomorrow" then declared?

I mean, I know the reps are extortionist, but we've established that NG are extraordinarily petty individuals (I mean, they sprang from Poison Clan, proof enough for me) so if they want to, they'll walk into a bar, wave their treaties around, and order everyone else to bow and lick their boots just because they can. At least the NPO had some bit of class when they did it.

The straw that would break the camel's back for me was if they gave no indication that negotiations were over before they declared. Declarations during negotiations are ALWAYS a good idea that go exactly according to plan.

It takes a lot to make me even consider joining Polar, but this is damn close.

TLR is made up of every original signatory of the CnG Union except for Mushroom Kingdom (the only alliance to leave) and TDSM8 (which disbanded). Camelot, DoC, HoTU, and Shinra all merged into Athens which them merged with =LOST= recently to form TLR. I mean at least know what you're talking about.
Well aware of that, doesn't mean you're the same alliances you were before the merger, all those viewpoints collided into something that's different. Something I do not like nearly as much.

CnG is dead, what's left is a bloc that is fine on its own, the signatories get along and they seem to have common goals, but it's not CnG and probably never will be again.

  13. The fact I've seen 100x worse on boards of alliances I've either been in or been an ambassador to does not make this any less hilarious.

Oh hey, a discussion on Tetris' Warchests.

    I'll just leave these here.

How could you POSSIBLY use something OTHER than Dongs as currency in your nation? Must have a terrible exchange rate.

  14.
first off. Shut up, you have no idea what youre talking about

second. FOK, DT, come on, weve got bigger fish to fry, so lets forget this !@#$ and move on to bigger and better things
I'm talking about things that happened years before you started playing, I don't expect you or him to understand what I'm talking about.

  15.
It's not like I should worry about your alliance its views of FOK anyway. "Extortion isnt Cool" and we all know how most of the alliances which replied here view FOK, so basically nothing changes. You guys keep calling us pathetic and what not, while you guys are the ones who accepted the deal, it isn't my fault you accepted it and whine about it afterwards.
I'm ghosting Bob's alliance for the lulz, if this was the issue he made it for, then we're in agreement, but that's not the reason I'm there. I never have been and never will be in DT and have had a variable opinion of them in the past.

FOK, on the other hand, is an alliance that I was apathetic about since they don't do anything but roll with the tide. You are obviously either very new, naive or both to think that talking big about how you + your allies could kick small alliance X's ass. This was the kind of bullcrap that Karma was about standing up against. I hope you're on the side that gets rolled come next time so I can watch you fall for hours off that lofty pedestal you're on.
