No make her go away. I also hate Nicky Minaj now.

Someone actually liked that annoying brat in the first place?

Anyway, I saw the title and expected either a reference to the awesome Eagles reunion album, the Orders re-establishing the Ordinance, or TOP and Polar making a treaty.

    Instead I got a goodbye-but-not-really-goodbye thread...disappointing.

So I have tanks that tie up 10 tech, but it still says on the aid screen that I have 50 available tech, but won't let me send it. I bought 10 more, it let me send it. I imagine if I sold off the tanks it'd let me send it too, but it's still a display error.

  3. OK, first off, I don't care enough to look up on the wiki, but I'm assuming Combine is a NG protectorate considering they signed off on this decision...if not, I have serious doubts about your sovereignty.

Wow that's an interesting view point.

Conversly one could view their actions as not necessary but extremely generous, as in they had no treay with R.O.C.K. so they (the combine) had no responsibilty to even get invovled. Instead, they got the raids to stop, and because ROK can't they (the combine) extended further protection against future raids to R.O.C.K.

Instead of frothing at the mouth anytime one of NG/GOONs/MK is mentioned, why not try a new approach, and rationally look at the situation then make an unbiased judgement? maybe just once?

Attacks on a protectorate have always been attacks on the protectors. If they were in the middle of 2 of their allies (NG/GOONS/whoever and RoK) it's your duty to try to make it right, if you can't, stay out of it. The implication here is that they never tried, if ANY of what Methrage is saying is actually true (I have no idea, I'm not playing close attention at the moment OOC: Exam time, procrastinating, etc). That'd make them pretty bad allies to begin with.

That said, it's always nice to see people being frank with each other instead of the "Reasons have been communicated privately" !@#$%^&* that's normally thrown out. Sure, "bad allies" is cryptic as hell, but it shows there's some malice to it, which is spice.

I always hope a new Vox will rise, with intelligent, credible people under a just cause. They would have my blessing. Guess this isn't it.
That'd be nice, but intelligent, credible people are quite rare these days as there's more going out than coming in.

I'm no big fan of GOONS, but I'm less of a fan of stupid, though the two aren't always mutually exclusive. I mean if you're going to do something like this, at least copy someone who did it much better than you. That's how I learned the ropes, I read a lot and copied styles with my own spin.

They were relatively independent (whether by choice or not) after Karma and through Bipolar, including fiery rhetoric and belligerence, and that led to DH/NPO. I'm not trying to start a debate about DH/NPO, just pointing this out as a fact.

Successful revolutions that supplant a ruling force, in this world and without, almost always include divisions within the ruling power structure, under the surface intrigue, and forces within the system working against it. Regardless of what NPO's long term goals are, plugging themselves into the current system is a good move.
Oh, I don't deny that, but it doesn't necessarily change my opinion at all.

Curse my use of imprecise language, you win again Schattenmann!
It's kind of funny that you keep falling into that trap when the whole reason the trap exists is because you continually attempt to redefine terms to suit your own means, where most of the rest of the world (highlighted by the fact this OP exists) enjoys calling you on it when you slip up.

  8. I'm kind of disappointed to see this tbh. I was going to point out the irony of NPO being de facto treatied to C&G, but I believe that point's been beaten to death.

All I have to say now is that I thought that the NPO was independent enough to want to either start their own faction or provide the counterpoint to the current dominant faction, instead they seem to have fallen in line and become docile, which is quite a shame. No more fiery rhetoric, treatises about Francoism, or even active belligerence towards anyone in particular.

This treaty is a sign of the times that makes me miss the old days.

Even all that said, I won't leave on doom and gloom, in spite of this and anything else, there's always hope that something interesting will happen, we'll just see who makes the first move.

  9. Really? When I remade my nation, I left it alone for 2 hours before putting an AA up and I got exactly 2 recruitment messages, the first (by far) being from the NPO (which is hilariously ironic given our history). I thought they'd slowed down.

Most of the messages you will get are stock and very old. The same ones have been flying around since I joined over 4 years ago. Maybe it is time for an update the the recruitment corps, eh?

Because I quite literally did not think people cared that much about who is flying their AA, it seems like such a non-issue. If someone jumped on my AA and started attacking other alliances, it's not like I suddenly have to protect them. Likewise, if someone jumped to my AA and started aid bombing, the simple answer is to not accept the aid. Furthermore, TPF acted fully in their right and attacked someone who jumped on their AA, which is obviously a risk taken when one leaves the safe zone of their own AA. I hardly expected such a brash blowback, although really given the amount of mountains made out of molehills here I guess I should have been prepared. This isn't going to be a persistent or reoccurring issue, as it was clearly a mistake, which has now been addressed.
Posts like this just show you are ignorant of how politics works and are willing to sacrifice your own nations for fun. It's way too late for "it won't happen again". You've managed to damage yourself and your alliance's reputation more than anything Roq's done over the past few days with this.

I knew you were never much of a leader, but if you honestly didn't see any of this coming, the best thing you can do for MK is step down and let someone who knows what they're doing take over. This is a career ender, and if it isn't, expect the fallout to go a lot farther than the simple tongue lashings that are going on today.

Pretty sure spies and ghosts aren't the same thing.
Depends, spying is essentially doing something for the benefit of another alliance while harming your current AA.

That sums up what they're doing pretty plainly.

At this point, you're really just arguing semantics to an absurd degree. I don't think we're in contention that this course of action was wrong and reflects poorly upon those who took it.

  12.
However they are controlling what goes on in their alliance by declaring war on nations ghosting. Better yet they could go through their foreign aid and figure out every single nation which ghosted their alliance and declare war on them one by one with literally zero repercussions. Seeing as sending foreign aid offers also doesn't effect anyone's nation, but their own I hardly would call it funneling money.
If this is the case, then MK just ordered a bunch of their people to do something then threw them under the bus for doing it.

If this is not the case, they are protected the second they put the MK AA back up. The wars would be forced to stop under fear of retaliation.

Either way, MK has committed a crime, whether it be against the sovereignty of other alliances or against its own members. Considering the second case is the one which seems to be going on, I'd go with the sovereignty of other alliances. They're free to prove me wrong.
