  1. NPO is in the north web and Legion is in the south web. At least that part's remained the same since 6+ years ago. GATO, ODN, and LoSS in the north, that's a little weird. Also, Ardus, you are the man for attempting to do this herculean task.
  2. I don't know how the hell this got into rehashing the crap that happened in the Equilibrium coalition... but I'm not surprised that it has gotten there. I can't say I'm happy to see IRON cancel on us - they have always been an alliance I considered a great ally and a friend, so seeing this happen is saddening. However, I still have plenty of friends there and do not wish them anything but the best right now. I can only hope that our paths will converge and we'll be able to be allied once again.
  3. There are two fundamental problems with the sheer number of alliances we have and the increased number of alliances: 1) People being spread too thin. The game has 12000 members, but really, probably only 1000-2000 active people. When there's 80 alliances with 30+ people, it spreads those people out far too much. There are not enough true, good leaders. 2) More tiny alliances means more entangling alliances. There are too many treaties, period. You cannot have a war without it becoming global. You cannot hit one alliance without drawing in 20 by Day 2 of the war. It takes forever for a war to start, for a war to be fought, and for a war to wind down. And then it takes a long, long, long time before the next war. When coalitions have 50+ alliances, it is impossible for things to happen with any reasonable, fun speed. By creating more alliances and creating this complicated, clusterfuck of a treaty web, we are ruining the game for ourselves. If your alliance is less than 50 members, you should disband or merge. Screw your alliance's "culture" or whatever else... alliances are not that different. Get into other alliances, make them bigger and stronger that way, and get some serious changes.
  4. I give this a 9/10 for execution. Pretty funny joke. Almost had me until I read the proposed charter.
  5. Well, I guess nobody will be blowing up the chicken man in Philly tonight. Congrats to both parties.
  6. I have to agree with Azaghul here. More alliances aren't a bad thing per se, but there are far too many alliances without enough members to sustain themselves, with inactive or incompetent leadership, that sort of thing. Nobody wants to give up their alliance's history and identity, but more alliances just complicates the already-complicated treaty web and divides up human resources that are necessary to make alliances work well. To add to that: everyone wants to be the leader, but nobody wants to be the follower or behind-the-scenes guy or whatever else, and that hurts us, too. Some people (certainly myself included) are not fit to be alliance leaders, it's just how it is. We need people to realize that sometimes, they are better off in the background doing their work rather than trying to be the big man starting their own failed alliance. Inactivity is something that breeds more inactivity and problems. Alliances lose members so much so that they can't function on their own, but they refuse to merge (or disband), meaning that even more people end up leaving the game out of boredom/attachment, and it just kills off the alliance. That's what happened to OMFG, in large part - there was an attempt to merge, it failed, and things just got out of control until disbandment was the only option.
  7. This sure is interesting, to say the least. In spite of whatever else, I wish you guys the best of luck. There's a good group of people here who I consider friends in this alliance.
  8. Planet Bob, hell has officially frozen over. o/ ODN o/ Orange Cake
  9. People opting in to be drafted: You're in the pool already. Everyone actively in CN today is in the pool. That's the point of this - you can choose anyone you want with your picks.
  10. Agreed. If I hadn't recently come back from being out of the game, I'd definitely be a part of the draft. Unfortunately, my knowledge is a bit stuck in the past.
  11. Problem is that TE success doesn't correlate with real-game success. I don't think we're looking for a "winner" or "loser" but if you do it, I'd have people vote on the lists. That's gonna be biased, sure, but less biased than any other option. Also: Do the draft live on IRC in a channel where the rest of us can watch (muted/devoiced)
  12. There's way more than enough GW3-era Legionnaires out there to fill this 17-slot "alliance" with us. ;)
  13. I'd volunteer for this, but I honestly don't know who's still in CN well enough to be able to do this. And I also just don't know enough people in enough alliances around CN. You need people who come from a variety of different alliances so that you get a good sample of people across CN.
  14. 1) Do you actually like me? I've never been able to figure this out. 2) In your view, what percent of the blame for Bipolar rests on TOP and what percent rests on Polar? 3) I have absolutely no plans to leave NPO or try and join TOP because I <3 NPO, but would I be welcome in TOP if I tried to apply, or have I burned those bridges more than I realize? 4) Who (persons, not alliances) in CN do you most like or respect that is not in TOP or any ally of TOP? 5) Are you looking forward to Duke beating Michigan State in the Sweet 16? :P 6) Obligatory "Would you vouch for me to join TOP?"
  15. I'm pretty sure this has happened in the past at least once or twice. Never really worked out as well as it could have, but I'd be game for this sort of thing again.
  16. The NPO-LUE/NPO-MK rivalry has been the defining rivalry of CN. Without a doubt, it is the greatest one. TOP-NpO is probably the only other one that can come close to it. Ramirus vs. the real Gramlins is certainly an honorable mention, though.
  17. Let's be real, it's not arrogance, it's hubris. And hubris always wins in the end. The Greeks taught us that.
  18. I saw auto was posting this and was hoping that they would all be rolling Argent. I was really disappointed by that. But in all seriousness, glad to have you on our side, my friends. To victory! o/
  19. This was definitely TOP speed working at its finest. 48 hours to get half of the alliance into peace mode before defending your ally.
  20. Congrats to all of you. This is quite a crew of people in the government.
  21. I just hope that someone can beat this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wugY6HNLOCo
