It's a sad state of affairs in the Cyberverse when people are pleasantly surprised to see alliances sticking up for their allies.

I hope this produces the desired effect, the policies were nice to have up front so people can know them.

On a personal note I agree with this. I would've just gone with the full 3 million. It's more efficient and it allows for a lot more of a beating to be inflicted on the nation that is being attacked, if that is part of the goal. I also agree with Bob Janova about this doing a lot to potentially create a new generation of GOON haters. If it accomplishes GOON's goals though, as they say it is, who are we to tell them it's a bad policy?

Invicta's official stance on the Pro-Piracy Act of 2009 Invicta has long held tech raiding to be an immoral, reprehensible act that damages new players ability to get involved in our community. As an alliance that prides itself upon working to get new players involved and creating an environment in which they can safely grow their nation and get involved in a player community, Invicta finds policies such as this to be counter productive to these long term goals. Invicta further believes that tech raiding destabilizes the planet by encouraging unnecessary conflict. Preservation of peace is an important goal to Invictans, young and old, and acts such as the Pro-Piracy Act only serve to cause strife, dissension, and the potential for larger scale conflict to erupt unnecessarily. These risks and potential risks lead Invicta to the belief that policies such as the Pro-Piracy Act are counterproductive to our goal of the preservation of peace as well as contribute to global instability. This stance is a vital part of Invictan culture, and as a result, we can not support GOONS in this endeavor for the reasons previously outlined. We condemn this Act as reprehensible, and urge GOONS and its leadership to reconsider this policy. We understand that as a sovereign alliance GOONS will pursue the path they believe is best for their alliance as a whole and Invicta respects this. Invicta supports any alliance that endeavors to help new alliances get started and flourish. New alliances are the lifeblood of the game and provide opportunities for new friendships. We particularly support efforts to prevent tech raiding on alliances that are just starting, due to Invicta's anti tech raid stance. Invicta wishes everyone involved success!
