  1. I respect your position. But there is people out there that do not share your view about being glad to have had to swallow a dozen nukes because NPO decided to curbstomp one more small alliance. And if those people want to get reparations, damn hell they have all the right to ask and receive them. BTW, "prepared for war and keeps fighting like a wolverine"? I've been traking the echelons for most of the war and I could say a few things about how many of them have been subscripted to Peace Mode for most of this conflict. Not to mention that they used to have a lot more members before this conflagration. I'm glad for those few echelons who really fought to the end and are now ZIed or near ZI, that we had put that condition about "No Echelon nation under 1,000 tech will be allowed to pay reparations". As a whole, they have fought Ok, but far from what I'd call "like a wolverine". If they had fought this way then we would be now next to a grave of a hundred of ZIed people (as opposed to... 6-7 out of 64 people), and we would not be asking for reparations because they whould have been unable to pay any.
  2. Well, you are the one who thinks and speaks in "rights" and "wrongs", and "punishment". I'm not into all that "our side is Good, the other side is corrupt and evil" crap. I personally don't want Echelon to pay reparations to "punish" them. I want them to pay reparations because, hey, you know, they actually damaged our nations. It's that simple. If you take out the claws, it comes with a price.
  3. Glad to see peace has been signed at last. Congratulations to Echelon for honoring their treaties and putting up a stiff fight. Would have been better to have signed a month or so ago, when the outcome of this war was already pretty clear, but better late than never. I was confused while reading this thread, through. I thought I had been redirected to a Porn Forum, seeing so many !@#$%*^ around. (oops, looks like censorship ruined my line) Harsh terms? Come on, people. Echelon choose a side, and I respect them for that. I respect them for honoring their treaties. But that does not change the fact that they were our opponents, and that this has been a war in wich nukes have been regular ordnance. So what did you expected? A great group hug? "You fried my nation with nukes, but I still love you, Twinkie Winkie" Grown up, please. This is not Bambi.
  4. Ok, I know I shouldn't be really writing this, being as I'm the leader of a nation fighting for the Karma bloc, but... So, Jocko Homo, you where a redteam nation, and joined NPO, as it was a big, powerfull red-team alliance. You didn't like what you saw there, so you decided to leave. That's Ok, but you stayed there for 5 whole months. Ok, so you really didn't realized where you stood, until war times come. That's reasonable, most people don't realize things until hard times come over. Or you didn't left NPO before for fear of reprisals, so waited until the NPO was messed and broken up by a war, and left when they no longer had the power to take reprisals on you. That's even more reasonable. So you desert your side and sign up into a POW camp. I fully approve, and I encourage every single nation fighting for the Hegemony to follow your lead. Well done, guy!! But... But then you come over to the Public sphere, to spread crap about your former alliance mates, and to encourage their enemies to totally wipe them. Dude, you are lobbing for the Vlassov-Von Paulus Award, or what? I mean, you totally took benefit from the protection of being into Planet Bob's Hegemonic Power for, like, 5 whole months. That's enough a reason to just shut up and spend your time growing potatoes in the POW camp, like everyone else. Rome didn't reward Treason. I don't expect Karma to do otherwise. And be afraid not, if the Karma guys have a barely minimal understandig about what they are doing (and I'm pretty sure they have), when they bow the Hegemony to Surrender Terms, there will be a big, pretty clausule about "thou shalt not take reprisals against any Karma POW". ... Well, forget what I have just written. Hang on, keep spreading good propaganda for Karma. We are proud of you. I totally encourage your actions. Yeah.
  5. Of course, I respect that. I was only politely offering my services in order to help you achieve your objectives faster. We can talk again about it in some days, when we both come out of Peace Mode. Don't misunderstand me, your alliance is one of the few that doesn't have ran away like cowards when s*th started to pour over NPO, and I respect you for it. So I'd be glad if you lose this war but don't take too much crap, you don't deserve it.
  6. Funny thing. I didn't remember being in peace mode last night. I only switched 4 hours ago after checking I have no Echelon nation available to fight. So if you whised to fight me last night, you were full able to do so.
  7. Actually, it is. I would have appreciated to have some fight, also. But last time I checked Echelon (like, 5 minutes ago), every nation within my NS range was either in peace mode or already in Anarchy. So, vacation time for me, I guess. In order to be small enough to DoW Kait, you'll have to get out of peace mode before. Please send me a PM when such event occurs, I'd be glad to help you drop your NS low enough to DoW her.
  8. Switzerland wins the America's Cup in real life and people still find unrealistic that land-locked nations have navies?
  9. Well, this would work then as one of the alternatives I wrote. So instead of deleting the trades (having to rebuild them later = boring) they just reduce/nullify the traded resources effect (depending on things like number of ships blockading vs nation size, blockading nation tech vs blockaded nation tech, and maybe even blockading nation spies vs blockaded nation spies). Same could work for Foreign Aid. The idea to neglect deploying troops capability to the blocked nation I think is good also. Finally, maybe blockades would be automatically lifted once the blockaded nation falls into anarchy (just like you can't land-attack a nation that has fallen into anarchy)
  10. Someone has pointed out that the Navy should not be a "direct attack" class, but a "support" class. I agree. And, to my opinion, the Navy would serve one main purpose: Blockade the enemy nation. Could work as follows: If the enemy Navy is liquidated, you can Deploy your navy to blockade the enemy nation. Deployed ships can't be used on defense and her maintenance costs are increased. A blockaded nation loses all his trade agreements (or has their effects nullified or reduced for the duration of the blockade - the higher the blockading navy, the higher the effect) and is unable to receive Foreign Aid (or has a random percentage of it lost to the blockading ships - the higher the blockading navy, the higher the effect). Basically would work like a Team Sanction. An aditional efect could be that the blockaded nation can't attack enemy nations with soldiers and tanks (can't deploy military, and all deployed military is lost) for the duration of the blockade (it can still attack with cruise missiles, aircraft and nukes) Those effects would add a whole new dimension on warfare. Having your trade disrupted would have dire effects to your war effort, and even more if you are blocked from your banking nations!
  11. 1- Social Security System (you can't miss the pleasure of raising even further the tax burden over your subjects) 2- Interstate System (you need good roads to allow your troops to rapidily move through the country to repress disenters) 3- Stock Market (so you can get rich by speculating with Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice) 4- Great Monument (at this level you have won yourself your right to have one. Welcome perpetual monarchy) 5- Grean Temple (wave goodbye to that pesky thing about changing religion and substitute it with a proper Cult to Your Personality) 6- Internet (remember to ban WoW or your citizens will stop going to work) etc...
