Indeed, I am sure that Polar will feel the loss of this one nation most keenly. -
This is a welcome development.

That is a surprising lack of basic war knowledge for ex-OcUK. -
No, the people I'm talking about left before that. Except WCR; do you remember him? (Working Class Ruler) About half of the old leadership of the MHA left to found Argent. The others stayed, but Denzin was lost to us, DarkFoxDemon went completely bananas, and WCR ... well he was the main reason why the people who founded Argent left MHA I think. I mean, he wasn't completely terrible, I've certainly met worse alliance leaders, but I wouldn't want him in charge of my alliance either. The #1 thing came about because in the post-DfD meltdown era (the meltdown happened in the buildup to Karma) the MHA became essentially an adjunct of the Grämlins, and to thank the MHA for their support - which was considerable - the Grämlins organized what was then the biggest aid dump in history. It gave the MHA some truly impressive stats, but wasn't able to change its fundamental character, which is to say that you guys aren't the most serious alliance out there. (Something which I'm happy about.) So when you finally came up against significant opposition, and the Grämlins weren't around anymore having had some major problems of their own, the stats melted away. But that's the way it goes.

You have a short memory, but that's to be expected considering that all of MHA's old leadership is now long gone. I do remember a time when MHA actually stood for something on its own, it wasn't just another follower alliance, but eh, things change I guess.

Let me rephrase this: He's the only one making Imperial Decrees. -
Imperial Decree- New Polar Order
Haflinger replied to AlmightyGrub's topic in Alliance Announcements (IC)
You only are destined to be hated by those who you betray. Of course, that's nearly everyone now. Grub is making Imperial Decrees on behalf of the New Polar Order. That kind of makes him the Emperor. Frankly, I hope that Sparta and you continue to battle each other forever. It is a fitting fate for your two alliances, who are so very similar in your overall makeup and mindset. I do not expect that hope to be realized; at some point they will probably surrender, sign some kind of random humiliating terms which they will then proceed to ignore, and then you will go back to your usual policy of tricking your allies into undermining their own positions in order to achieve one of your petty goals. -

That criticism would be relevant if the New Polar Order didn't have the same Emperor as it did in 2010. When they move on, so will I. -

If productivity was the goal, this thread would have about five posts in it. It's good to see you admit in public that you have no interest in supporting your allies. Embarrassed? It's OK, you don't need to make excuses for your alliance. -
He appears to be doing quite well in his two offensive wars (one Invicta, one Legion), but not so well in his three defensive wars (all against Legion). Plus he's out of warheads. If he was up against a different alliance, I'd say he was in some trouble as you guys do have him staggered but Legion is notorious for letting people escape staggers.

There are three Umbrella nations with over 39K tech and under 40K. From what I know of the three, Matthew PK, the one that's closest to 40K, seems likely. Of course I don't know the other two at all.

One year anniversary of the start of SPATR-Oculus war
Haflinger replied to murtibing's topic in Alliance Announcements (IC)
I have to agree with Sabcat. Ridding the world of Bones is probably the greatest achievement Oculus has ever managed. I've never thought admission of defeat terms are worth fighting for - or about. The only terms that matter are the ones that affect your nations. So if that's all this war is still about, I think both Oculus and SPATR are silly for fighting about an irrelevant term. I guess I was just figuring they were still fighting because they were bored. -
High defending casualties tends to just mean you've been nuked a lot. Roal's 2:3 ratio is perfectly reasonable. For reference, I'm about 1:2 and I've done a good chunk of damage in my time, more than I've taken. Still, Roal's an idiot. I was more criticizing the NG war record here; there are indeed limits to freedom of expression, but for someone from NG to criticize AM over their behaviour in this war is a remarkable highlight of hypocrisy.
-
Probably. All the wars blur together. Oh yeah, it was. That's right, we had been planning on staying out but then Sparta hit BAPS. The last Invicta announcement I wrote actually.

This one makes me terribly sad.

The short form is: You didn't like what they said. So you started a war whose goal was to get them to stop saying it. I've started a few wars in my time. The objective has always been to get someone to stop doing something though, not to roll some irrelevant alliance. Because, let's face it, speech doesn't really matter. All that matters is what you do. Alliances who just stand around and talk aren't relevant.

Don't worry, I don't plan for this warchest to go to waste.
