  1. Those are not bragging numbers, GK. Number of Soldiers Lost: 5,969,295 Attacking + 11,053,999 Defending = 17,023,294 Casualties I mean, I know I'm older than you, but I'm not 26 times your age.
  2. Why is this exactly? So that there will be fewer wars? HEY WAIT A MINUTE. It's not so much cowardly as it is a reflection of who people like. I mean, I've been on the other side of those overkill declarations, I know what being the underdog is like. I actually prefer it. However, I would still have sided with Canik and the folks at CLAWS over GK, except that there are only two nations in my range and neither have slots. So I guess I'm staying retired for the moment.
  3. I'm pretty sure they just rushed the announcement because of the war. Also, hi Canik, it's been a while eh?

    Reminiscing

Z'ha was largely inactive by the time of Karma. He definitely was part of the old mold of power-tripping goons around NPO at the time, but he's only indirectly a cause of Karma. There are plenty of people still playing this game, I'm even one of them in my way. There obviously aren't as many as there used to be but there's still a core of players. There always were a lot of inactives, and we lost people all the time. I mean, I nearly quit when Skyrim came out, and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people actually quit when that happened. But it's a pretty low-cost game to keep running so I suspect it will be around for a while to come yet.

    Reminiscing

Triyun and Vektor knew that there was a storm coming inside Continuum. They wanted NPO to side with Citadel against, well, the Valhalla/TPF branch. That's why they signed the big treaty with MHA. This is especially true for Triyun, note that he went to TOP after the war, which was decidedly not the safe spot to go to after Karma. I'm still not entirely convinced that Vektor wasn't a spy actually. He had formerly been a poster on the LUE boards at GameFAQs. Moo didn't really know what to do, but when bigwoody started running with Blackstone Collusion's bait he was forced to choose between what Dilber and Triyun wanted and the TORN MADP. He went with the treaty. Now if you want to complain of people being dumb, oh man, bigwoody really took the cake. mhawk knew we were going to get razed, but bigwoody was convinced it was going to be an even war. mhawk just thought that if we had waited longer things would have gotten worse. This was probably true... for TPF. I don't know for sure if he realized Triyun wasn't exactly working with the best interests of his alliance at heart, but he'd have to have been pretty dumb to miss hints like the MHA treaty.
  6. Hey, it's a PIAT. This makes me feel not so much like 2012 as 2008. I recognize most of the GATO signers, don't recognize the IRON signers except for The Warrior. This is actually a good thing, because Warrior is alright and most of the people I knew from IRON weren't. Good luck to the GATO guys, I always liked you lot.
  7. Indeed an update would be nice. The #50 nation on the spreadsheet is now at #54, and the guy I mentioned is at #56. So there have definitely been some changes.
  8. Nobody still uses IRC. I think most comms of that sort are now done on Discord. I haven't bothered with it myself. I only vaguely remember Bob Ilyani. I think he's gone. Years ago. Most alliances are now essentially inactive. Some have completely disbanded, others have been turned into retirement homes. The Orders and CLAWS are still pretty active, I think IRON is as well. There's an ongoing war involving the remnants of Umbrella with several alliances that they've attacked.

    The Rebbilon

The other day I was surfing and found another link to a Rebbilon thread, this one from 2013. Remember
  10. Obviously bacon is the important issue here.
  11. If only Walker Ninja was around to negotiate with him.
  12. Joseph, you are a very bad man. 👮‍♂️😎
  13. This guy is beginning to wander dangerously close to DR DAVID BANNER territory.
  14. I knew there was a reason that you were one of my favourite people at MHA, Jerdge.
  15. Hailsatan must have just kept his nation going. He disappeared from politics. 'Course I did that for years too 😎 Eh, warranted, unwarranted, didn't always matter. The game had too many people getting along in it for a proper wargame, so I tried to add some conflict where I could. More fun that way.
  16. The NPO-TPF relationship did not end well. I think I remember you. I probably made fun of you, but I did that to a lot of people back then. Memoryproblems was in Invicta for a while, he went back to TPF eventually and I think he was still there for TPF's war-disbandment declaration. Hailsatan, Judge X and deathcat are all long gone. Brehon was emperor of NPO for a while. He's been gone for a while now though, possibly some of the current NPO guys might know where he went. Sardonic has been gone for quite a while too. TPF is down to four nations, and from the list it looks likely that the AA will collapse soon. https://www.cybernations.net/alliance_display.asp?ID=15200
  17. They hit BAPS and Olympus, possibly the two worst alliances they could have hit. Not only were the two targets both high-quality fighting alliances, their allies were pretty much all people who had a huge grudge against Sparta for one reason or another. So everyone dogpiled them.
  18. Sparta lost more nations than that during Grudge. Also, a huge number of nations who stayed in Sparta were run by rulers who ... err, didn't really spend much time ruling their nations.
  19. I am currently at war with #61, https://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=306785 He's likely to increase in the coming months.
  20. At their peak, MHA ... helped found Argent 😎 Really, it started going downhill from there. Losing those people, a lot of talent went then. I still remember WCR trying to use Q against Argent. I fought Sparta way back when. If you're going to claim that MHA was even less effective than they were, well, I guess I never fought MHA and Illuminati were worse than Sparta, so it's possible that there was another large alliance which was super-fantastic terrible, but it seems unlikely to me.
  21. The ironic part of all this is that I can remember myself warning MHA in 2009 that they couldn't trust Umbrella. I can't remember whether I actually believed it or not but I certainly wouldn't have expected it to take quite this long. 😎
  22. I feel like I've gone back in time to 2008. Good on The Legion for continuing its recruitment efforts though. 😎
  23. I think Monster is getting a J.D. in e-lawyer.
  24. Oh, that's a pity. That must have happened during my mostly-inactive years. Seeing Dilber again just reminded me of him.
