  1. VICTORIA December 6, 2013 VOICE OF RHODESIA (Newspaper) - Rhodesia. the name conjures up visions of prosperity, riches of diamonds and gold, beautiful cities, beautiful people, rich farmlands and technical innovation. A strong and vibrant country with a modern army and air force and an air of expectancy, handed down from father to son, that their land would be the greatest in the whole continent. This is what the country used to be like. Victoria (Lusaka) was a thriving metropolis of great buildings and the frenzied rush of people going about their affairs much like any other major city in the world. It was such a powerhouse of people, ideas and innovations and the strong egalitarian mentality over rode all. Today, Victoria appears to be a run down shanty town with decrepit buildings, boarded up windows, filthy garbage riddled streets and squalor everywhere. This utopia, this land of riches, this gemstone in the center of the continent, is now like so many other third world nations, a struggling mix of different cultures coming to terms with life in the 21st century. Unfortunately, after the Civil War Rhodesians are cursed with a background that has not reached the stage which would enable them to mentally grasp all the requirements that are needed to administer a complex and busy country in a post-civil war environment. From being a protectorate of Transvaal, to being the an independent country today, has created major schisms within the overall Rhodesian society. There is an ongoing payback mentality that encourages citizens to steal from other citizens in many different ways. In one way the houses are regularly burgled and effects stolen. This is not done covertly, and gangs of criminals regularly threaten households. Law and order is a thing of the past now. There is no law of protection for citizens, and no laws for criminals abide by. Apart from the trashing of cities which have become sleazy rubbish dumps the hospital services are almost non existent. It’s hard to accept that a successor state of the country that pioneered the first heart transplant has now a run down medical service which once used to be the envy of the world. Everything about Rhodesia today, smacks of total incompetence with inmates running the asylum for the rest of the inmates who just have no idea what is going on. Apathy is probably the correct word to describe how the rest of the world views this former nation. It just seems that the power brokers amongst Rhodesian society are just sitting on the sidelines waiting for the country to implode before they wake up in perhaps 10 years time or so, and pick up the pieces once more. From being a rich farming country, Rhodesia now faces the prospect of importing food to feed the masses.
  2. VICTORIA (LUSAKA) December 3, 2013 RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front militants have attacked and occupied the headquarter of the Rhodesia-Nyasaland National Bank, killing a clerk and a security guard. Rhodesian Ministry of Interior and State Security Phillip van Heerden said troops had surrounded the building in Victoria (Lusaka), where some 26 people were being held. Mr van Heerden said the militants wanted to leave Rhodesia-Nyasaland with the hostages, which he would not allow. Earlier, Radio Rhodesia-Nyasaland quoted one worker as saying the militants had demanded the release of 80 RNU-PF prisoners. Another report said they wanted foreign troops to end peacekeeping operations in Rhodesia. At a news conference on this morning, Mr van Heerden said a heavily armed "terrorist group" using three vehicles stormed into the parking lot of the Rhodesia-Nyasaland National Bank. The attackers were first repelled by the security, but a clerk and a security guard national had been killed, he said. Two other clerks, and two security officers were also hurt in the firefight, he added. Afterwards, the militants stormed the building and took a number of customers and employees hostages. They were being held in one wing of the building, which the security services and army had now surrounded, Mr van Heerden said. "Since then, they've been facing off. The Rhodesian Security Forces are consolidating their position around the neighborhood," he added. "It seems [the militants] want to leave the country, to leave the country with the hostages. This is completely unacceptable for the Rhodesian authorities." The minister said nearby border crossings had been closed as a precaution.
  3. "Good, we have an agreement. I hope Paraguay will find a way out of the unpleasant crisis of South America. I will not steal more of your time and let you handle your pressing matters back in South America. It was a pleasure to meet you Your Holiness, i hope the next time the circumstances will be different. Have a nice flight back to Paraguay."
  4. "Of course, i was referring to the most unfortunate events in Paraguay and Bolivia.. most unfortunate because i predicted a take over by Asian forces a long time ago.. and apparently i was right, unfortunately i must add. First they set up an internationally recognized body to legitimize them, then they announce themself as liberators, friends.. but they ask you give up your rights, your culture, your freedom.. and ultimately your sovereignty. Our people know the dynamics of colonialism and this is the reason why Rhodesia Nyasaland decided to not send a UN representative and stay out of the schemings of Security Council. Regardless, we gladly accept your help and will allow the Catholic church to establish a Patriarchate of Africa here in Rhodesia. We will not interfer with your mission as we guarantee freedom of religion and worship to our citizens. Our catholic population needs a guide, infact, and today the Rhodesian catholic church lacks the coordination and the means to assist the population in such a harsh and forsaken environment.. but we will do our best to cooperate with your missions."
  5. State President Ian Smith The State President is sitting behind his desk, with Prime Minister Winnie Mandela standing on his side. As the Pope walks in, Smith stands up and slowly nods, as if bowing, before John Paul III. The State Presaident looks tired, the ashtray is full of discarded cigarettes, and there is an half full glass of whiskey next to his family's photo. In the picture, he, his wife and his son are standing infront of of Smith Family's farm. His son is wearing a Rhodesian Army uniform, suggesting that Ian might be worried for his son's fate. "You are right, your holiness.. This is not the right time for pleasantries.. i don't know how long this fragile peace will last.. and i don't know for how long my people will suffer. God forgive us for our sins.. but this is Africa.. what can we do? [takes a long breath, looking at his family's picture] However.. If Africa is crying.. South America is not laughing, is it?"
  6. What appears before John Paul III is a nation in ruins, and a people on the brink of disaster. What once appeared to be a stable and relatively prosperous country has turned into an eternal battlefield, with civilians paying the consequences for what will be remembered as the most violent civil war in South Africa in decades. The City of Victoria (Lusaka) itself has been severely damaged by RNU-PF air and missile strikes. The whole nation seems to be on the brink of another civil war as military convoys rush to the Northern Province from the Rhodesian Army HQ in Livingstone. Camp Hope quickly evolved into a town by itself, populated by ten thousand refugees who lost everything during the bloody battles between Federal troops and rebels in the northern part of the country. While 70% of Rhodesians consider themself christians, only a minority practices Catholicism and the rest belong to the Dutch Reformed Church and several protestant denominations imported from Europe in the 19th century. Regardless, the people of Camp Hope welcomed the Pope as a liberator, someone who can inspire hope and strenght in a country where everything seems to be lost, and where war, famine, epidemics and violence are the only recognized laws. However, most Rhodesians believe Rhodesia-Nyasaland is a god forsaken central african country. After the visit in Camp Hope, the Pope will be escorted to the Presidential Palace in Livingstone, where a perimeter of sandbags, MG nests and main battle tanks protect the "red zone" where only authorized personnel and members of the government are allowed to travel. State President Ian Smith and Prime Minister Winnie Mandela are waiting for John Paul III in Smith's office.
  7. Rhodesian scouts in the Northern Province BREAKING NEWS - Rhodesian and rebel troops have clashed near the Line of Control in the disputed Northern Province, where for the fist time since the end of the civil war RNU-PF militias attacked a Rhodesian light infantry platoon in the jungles of the Northern province. The Federal Government said rebel troops attacked a Rhodesian platoon patrolling the jungles, killing a soldier and injuring another in the disputed northern part of the country. The Northern province is claimed in its entirety by both the Federal Government and the Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front and has been a flashpoint between them for more than three weeks, resulting in the death of 88.000 military personnel and 15.000 civilians. "Rhodesian troops effectively responded to the attack," the Rhodesian statement said, adding that rebel troops had left behind weapons as they retreated. Rhodesian army spokesman Fieldmarshall Constantine Chiwenga told Radio Rhodesia-Nyasaland it had responded to a "ceasefire violation" by RNU-PF. Another Rhodesian army spokesman, Sergeant McAllen, a hero of the civil war, told Radio Rhodesia-Nyasaland that RNU-PF militias had "initiated unprovoked firing" with mortar shells and automatic weapons against a reconnaissance platoon. One civilian home was destroyed, he said. "We retaliated only using small arms. We believe it was clearly an attempt on their part to facilitate infiltration of militants," Sergeant McAllen said. The Federal Government recalled all reservists to the barracks, while many in the country fear that the current peace could be just a short break in one of the most violent conflicts of post-Transvaal South africa. The Rhodesian Red Cross reports a new exodus of Rhodesians from the Northern Province to the Southern part of the country where the United Nations have set up aid camps for the displaced and the victims of the conflict.
  8. FROM: Office of the Statepresident, Office of the Prime Minister TO: Secretariat of State SUBJ: RE: Official Visit The Government of Rhodesia-Nyasaland gladly accepts the donation and welcomes the Pontifex and invites him to visit Camp Hope, Livingstone, in order to witness first hand the hard efforts of Rhodesian and foreign aid workers to assist the local population. The Statepresident will meet him in his office after the visit at Camp Hope. Signed Statepresident Ian Smith Prime Minister Winnie Mandela Federal Republic of Rhodesia-Nyasaland
  9. Republica's peacekeepers in Camp Hope RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - According to the Rhodesian Red Cross, the high flux of humanitarian aid from the Exarchate of Africa and the coordination between UN peacekeepers and Rhodesian Security Forces are successfully helping the population by providing them food and proper medical assistance. In Camp Hope, outside the capital city of Livingstone, the Paraguayan Peacekeeping Force witnessed a large influx of refugees since the first week of war. Today Camp Hope has a population of 3500 displaced Rhodesians. Daily food rations are being distributed to the population, humanitarian aid workers from all over the world have contributed to provide medical and psychological assistance to the victims of the conflict, and a temporary school welcomed 60 pupils this afternoon as Federal authorities are working around the clock to help citizens return to their normal lifes. While authorities agree that a lot of work needs to be done, Prime Minister Winnie Mandela expressed gratitude and admiration for the efforts of the UN and aid workers alike to help the population in need of assistance "I would like to personally express gratitude, and heartfelt admiration, to the UN peackeeping forces of Paraguay, Republica, the Athenian Federation and all the members of the United Nations Mission in Rhodesia." said PM Winnie Mandela in a radio broadcast. Paraguayan Peacekeepers in Rhodesia
  10. RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - After 21 days of war, peace returns to Rhodesia-Nyasaland. Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front Militias have retreated into the forests and presumably left the country towards neighboring territories, Rhodesian Intelligence reports. State President Ian Smith declared the end of the State of War and lifted Martial Law, allowing ordinary citizens to slowly return to their lifes. A spokesperson of the Rhodesian Security Forces said "At least 44.000 Rhodesian soldiers lost their lifes during the conflict, while total military casualties are estimated 88.000". The Rhodesian Red Cross also estimated Civilian Casualties between 15.000 and 20.000 and said the total casualties number could be as high as 110-115.000. "We need the support of the International Community to assist our population. We need water, food and medicines. We need doctors, we need engineers, we need technicians in order to repair our aqueducts, set up aid camps, we need medical equipment, ambulances.. we need all the help the International Community can spare. Help us." said a spokesperson of the Rhodesian Red Cross in a heartbreaking communique "At least 10.000 Rhodesians have lost their homes, their families, one or more relatives and now live in UN refugee camps. We estimate that 2000 are children under 10 years old, many are orphans in desperate need of psychological assistance." he added. Prime Minister Winnie Mandela addressed the International community during a radio broadcast in her first appearance since the beginning of the conflict, asking the United Nations to continue their peacekeeping efforts in the northern province of the country to ensure the success of the peace process and the stability of the country as a whole.
  11. RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - Nearly 2,000 Rhodesians fled the war-ravaged Central district today. They were able to leave safely thanks to the help of Paraguayan aid workers and a rare temporary cease-fire agreement between government and marxist-leninist rebel forces. After reports of starvation and disease in the northern provinces triggered national outcry, rebels and the Federal government decided that the residents of central and northern provinces near the frontline should be able to leave before fighting resumes. Federal troops have resorted to blockades of rebel-held areas in an effort to flush out fighters, keeping food and supplies from entering. Famished men, women and children carried their belongings out of Victoria this morning "We are going to Camp Hope, Livingstone" said one of the refugees. Some of the elderly and sick were carried by Rhodesian Red Cross workers on stretchers. Men were lined up and searched by Federal Security Forces. "We didn't see a piece of bread for days," said one woman. "We were eating leaves and grass." A government official at the scene, said the evacuated civilians were taken to temporary camp outside Victoria (Lusaka).
  12. OOC: The thing is very simple: as i've said before the war follows IG evolution, that's why i discouraged any "foreign military rp other than peacekeepers", because whoever it is, it follows IG evolution, the same goes for me. My post was a suggestion, don't engage too much in war roleplays because if IG i don't win or any of my allies does, nobody in this RP wins. Rebels have AK47 and Federal Troops have FNFAL and cold war fighter jets and tanks, but what makes the difference is the IG war - which is what really shaped the RP in this thread.
  13. PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF RHODESIA NYASALAND DECLARES INDEPENDENCE RNU-PF MILITIAS GIVE TIANXIAN SOLDIERS A HARD TIME IN " THE VIETNAM OF AFRICA" RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - RNU-PF militias have been forced to retreat to the unforgiving jungles as Tianxian troops crossed the north-eastern border of the country in an attempt to quickly bring the conflict to an end. After the initial setback, rebels have reinforced their positions in the most wild and dangerous environments of the South African country forcing Tianxian troops to chase them. The unforgiving jungles pave the way for a long and stagnating conflict, forcing Tianxian troops to recalculate their times. Marxist-Leninist militias have set up temporary camps and headquarters in the unhabitated forests of the country, while Rhodesian Security Forces are desperately holding their position in the southern border between the self-proclaimed RNU-PF's People's Republic of Rhodesian Nyasaland and Ian Smith's Federal Republic of Rhodesia Nyasaland. Intense fights occured tonight between Federal and Rebel troops, resulting in the death of at least 10.000 fighters on both sides. State President Ian Smith warned expeditionary forces to not underestimate the advantage of rebel fighters who tactically exploit Rhodesia Nyasaland's jungles to counter powerful and technologically advanced weapons. Radio Rhodesia Nyasaland interviewed Corporal James McAllen of the 3rd Light Company of the 1st African Rifles Division. Corporal McAllen poses for a picture in the thick Jungles of Rhodesia HOST: Corporal McAllen, do you think Tianxian soldiers will be able to force RNU-PF militias on their knees in a matter of days? CORPORAL MCALLEN: While RNU-PF militias have no chances against the Tianxian military in open fields, the jungle offers them a huge tactical advantage where only Rhodesian Security Forces have the means and the knowledge to fight, due to our knowledge of the territory and the extremely variable dynamics and weather in the thick jungles of Rhodesia. Underestimating such aspects and factors of the war is a mistake. The same mistake occured in Vietnam where the technologically advanced United States Army suffered heavy losses against the less equipped and less trained Vietcong militias who exploited the geography of the battlefields. Rhodesia Nyasaland is the Vietnam of Africa and any foreign force should never underestimate the difficulty to conduct a war in such wild and hostile environments. HOST: But the Rhodesian Army successfully dealt a number of attacks against RNU-PF militias, forcing them to retreat several times. CORPORAL MCALLEN: Yes, however our light companies are trained to fight in such wild environments. Most of my men were Wildlife Guards who spent years, if not decades, to preserve the wilderness of Rhodesia Nyasaland and their experience is extremely useful against RNU-PF militias who can count on the same experience and advantage on the field. HOST: So you are saying that this war will not be a short war and that technology does not make the difference if fights occur in the aforementioned environments CORPORAL MCALLEN: Exactly. Underestimating RNU-PF's knowledge of the jungles and guerrilla tactics is a mistake, they will give Tianxian troops a hard time, no matter how technologically advanced the military of Tianxia is. You can't move tanks and APCs in the Jungle, you can't conduct any bombing effort if you can't see what lays under the thick vegetation, or under the ground for example. HOST: Thank you Corporal McAllen. CORPORAL MCALLEN: Thank you, goodbye.
  14. DEATH TOLL REACHES 55.000 NO HOPE FOR PEACE IN RHODESIA-NYASALAND AT LEAST 10.000 CIVILIAN CASUALTIES BREAKING NEWS - With the death toll reaching 55.000, many Rhodesians are starting to believe that there is no hope for peace in the once prosperous and peaceful country. The crisis in Rhodesia has affected everyone's life as intense fighting and air raids are destroying what's left of the country's infrastructures after only one week of war between Rhodesian Security Forces and militias of the Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front. Refugees have been relocated outside the Capital City of Livingstone where a humanitarian aid camp has been set up by the authorities to welcome the displaced and the injured, but medicines, water and food are still hard to find. The road network has been severely compromised and communication between the Northern-Eastern provinces and the South are almost non-existant. There is no way for Federal troops to reach the population inside RNU-PF occupied areas, and many are wondering if the United Nations will soon take a decision regarding the humanitarian tragedy occuring in Rhodesia Nyasaland. The Rhodesian Red Cross estimates civilian casualties around 10.000, but efforts to count the bodies are halted by the lack of personnel and equipments to effectively bury the dead. Eyewitnesses have reported mass graves with hundreds of bodies being piled up after RNU-PF strikes hit a neighorhood in Victoria (Lusaka), way behind the main frontline.
  15. "They can send their men to murder and they can shout their words of hate, But the cost of keeping this land free can never be too great! For our men and boys are fighting for the things that they hold dear, This land and all its people will never disappear!" RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - The Rhodesian Army carried a successful counter-attack this morning against RNU-PF militias who were forced to retreat north, securing at least for now the position of the city of Victoria (Lusaka) a strategically important settlement in the very heart of Rhodesia. Supported by the Rhodesian Air Force and the Rhodesian Missile Corps, light infantry troops marched trought enemy fortifications despite heavy losses estimated around 1500 for the Rhodesians and 1100 for RNU-PF. The new victory comes after a round of defeats, forcing Rhodesian troops to retreat to the central district, leaving everything behind in the hands of marxist-leninist terrorists who now seem to be uncapable of sustaining a new offensive anytime soon. War efforts are keeping the economy stable, at least when it comes to money reserves, but goods such as water, food and medicines are a rarity in the most remote and rural areas of the country. The morale is high and State President Ian Smith congratulated with the troops for achieving victory and giving new hopes to all the people of Rhodesia Nyasaland.
  16. The North-Eastern part of the country, except Nyasaland (Malawi), is currently under control of the marxist-leninist militias of the Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front, therefore we will not be able to provide security in the aforementioned area of the country. RNU-PF completely ignores any convention or international law and we doubt that any UN peacekeeping mission will be respected and considered neutral. However in the rest of the country controlled by the Federal Government, Rhodesian Security Forces are still able to provide security and cooperate with peacekeepers to reach the population in need rescue and supplies. We discourage any venture north of the frontline due to heavy fighting and a general state of anarchy. ((OOC: Feel free to use my Civil War thread to post peacekeepers RP))
  17. DEATH TOLL REACHES 35.000 BREAKING NEWS - As the civil war reaches the high point in Rhodesia Nyasaland, sources of the Ministry of Defense and the Office of the State President estimate total casualties to be 35.000, but non-government sources talk about at least 40-45.000 dead since the beginning of the conflict. Emergency services said civilian casualties raised to 3500 after a series of enemy air strikes and missile barrages hit the towns behind the frontline. The Rhodesian Army managed to repel a number of attacks, but government troops have been forced to tactically retreat to reorganize a new line of defense on the eve of new RNU-PF offensive in an attempt to take the capital city. In the Capital City of Livingstone rioting and looting seems to be unstoppable. Cases of murder, robbery and general violence have been reported all over the country. A once peaceful country now torn apart by one of the most violent conflicts South Africa has ever seen. Thousands of refugees are flocking to the southern provinces still controlled by government troops while the refugees flux towards Congo is outlining an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy. Food and water are luxury goods in certain areas of the country, infrastructures have been crippled by bombings and air strikes and the Government is struggling to keep the situation under control.
  18. DISASTER IN RHODESIA-NYASALAND 15.000 DEAD IN ONE DAY. 2500 CIVILIANS DIED IN ENEMY COUNTER ATTACK. THOUSANDS OF REFUGEES MASSED AT THE CONGOLESE BORDER BREAKING NEWS - State President Ian Smith declared the Martial Law after the intense clashes between the Rhodesian Security Forces and RNU-PF militias escalated to "Unprecedented levels" said the Commander in Chief of the Rhodesian Army Fieldmarshall Constantine Chiwenga "At least 9000 Rhodesian soldiers died in the counter attack, enemy casualties are estimated 6000." The Rhodesian Army failed to repel the counter attack, forcing loyalist troops to retreat to a new frontline where intense fights and enemy air raids are occuring as we speak. The Rhodesian Red Cross said "This is an humanitarian disaster of unprecedented levels". With total disregard for international humanitarian laws and the Geneve conventions, RNU-PF aircrafts and missile batteries hit several settlements behind Rhodesian lines, resulting in the death of at least 2500 civilians. Lootings and violence erupted in the major cities of Rhodesia Nyasaland, where security forces and law enforcements have failed to quell the riots. Local emergency services have been crippled aswell, and their limited resources have been depleted in an attempt to rescue the civilian population. State President Ian Smith who is reported safe in the Presidential bunker, has issued a decree declaring mandatory conscription for all citizens able to carry a rifle. Independent loyalist militias have formed to counter the enemy's advance in a scenario where violence and humanitarian disaster have reached unprecedented levels in South Africa since the nuclear attacks on Pretoria and Bloemfontein. A huge number of war refugees massed near the Congolese border, hoping to leave the wartorn south african country as soon as possible. "There are no words to describe this.. this is not war.. this is a massacre" said one of the refugees.
  19. RAF VIDEO FOOTAGE RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - The Rhodesian Air Force and Missile Command carried out a series of successful air to ground attacks aimed at destroying the enemy's reinforcement and resupply capabilities. As many as 4 Cruise Missiles and 2 air strikes occured today, crippling the enemy's reaction capabilities one day after the bloody battle in the northern part of the Luapula Province. State President Ian Smith said the Rhodesian Army is ready to blow a final strike to RNU-PF militias and put an end, once for all, to their terrorist activities in the northern part of the country. State President also commented on the new trade agreements signed by Rhodesia Nyasaland and its economic partners, stating that such trade agreements helped Rhodesia to sustain military operations, largely financed by the country's money reserve.
  20. We have no data for the income of "different ethnic groups". The Rhodesian Government doesen't even conduct such studies. We have a free market economy based on private initiative. The suspicions of your government are completely wrong and manipulated since not one single immigrant from Europe ever crossed the border into Rhodesia. Therefore there is no such thing as "wealthy newly arrived immigrants, favoured by the government" in Rhodesia Nyasaland. This is a simple manipulation of reality, and we'd rather withdraw the petition and abolish the law ourself than being falsely accused of depriving our black citizens of their rights, or privileging "europeans". It is our impression that the Amazon Republic believes our black population is not capable of defending their rights or vote for their representatives in the Federal Assembly simply due to their skin color. Everyone has the same rights and duties in Rhodesia Nyasaland, irrespective of color. "White" does not equal "European". There are Africans who happen to be white. There is no such thing as a "dinsenfranchised native population", we have never said the RNU-PF terrorists are all "black", this is an assumption made by the Amazon Republic where the idea that blacks in Africa are still oppressed by the white man is very alive - things have changed. Contrary to popular beliefs, black people in Rhodesia Nyasaland are not chained to a tree and have the same rights as anyone else, if they don't like the government they can vote for another Prime MInister in the next elections, as Rhodesia Nyasaland, contrary to popular beliefs, is also a democratic country. The RNU-PF is a marxist-leninist terrorist group, and their ideology has nothing to do with racialism. To answer the requests of Russian NGO: They can enter Rhodesia Nyasaland, we asked them before the "verdict" of the Exarch and all the world ignored us, even when we asked for help against the athenian aggression, but you are still welcome. The text of the law is simple: anyone who happens to be white can't cross the border. As requested explicitly by the Athenian Federation after they bombed our capital city to overturn the verdict of the Rhodesian Constitutional Court (http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/118992-constitutional-court-delivers-final-verdict-on-anti-white-immigration-bill/). The Athenian Federation also congratulated the government upon approval of the anti white immigration bill, stating that "the government has aknowledge its past wrongdoings" - wrongdoings that have never occured in the first place.
  21. The increase is simply due to the fact that not all of the Rhodesian territory was mapped back then, and not even today. It is a long process and it requires time. Not all the people who were included in the new census were immigrants, but simply citizens who were not registered by the previous census due to the limited resources of the Federal Government to conduct such large scale census operations. Such privileges for the Afrikaner population of Rodesia have never taken place, because they simply didn't exist and don't exist today when it comes to immigration. The committee of the Exarch has never asked Rhodesian authorities informations on immigration policies or the way the census were carried out, if they were complete, partial or slightly inaccurate, and the quick conslusions were explicitly unfair towards Rhodesia, accused of committing ethnic cleansing or privileging certain ethnic groups without actually investigating on the reasons of such a sudden increase. The probability of an African nation to attract white immigrants - who live on the African continent since the 18th century, are the same that new greco-roman empire rises in Europe 600 years after the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire - low odds, but apparently possible. Once again, we want to see the proofs of the aforementioned ethnic cleansing and the fact that Rhodesian authorities privileged white immigrants - again, not all the people mapped by the last census were immigrants, they simply lived in areas and neighborhoods not reached by the previous census - because simple accusations aren't a proof according to law, accusations must be backed by facts and we want to see the facts, the undisputable proofs, of Rhodesian authorities privileging whites over blacks - it simply never occured. Rhodesia Nyasaland is a multicultural nation where whites and blacks put their past hatred aside and decided to work togheter, for a better future. If some countries don't believe this is possible, well they are invited to Rhodesia to see it themself. We are not "europeans" or "natives", we are Rhodesians. We are Africans, irregardless of our skin color. Some of us are white, their families lived on this land for over 200 years, but if we aren't Africans then what are we? As for our black population, well yes we had our clashes in the past, we all made our mistakes. But we corrected our wrongdoings, today black people have the same rights as white people. Voting, freedom of expression, of movement, of opinion, of association. We don't look at people as whites or blacks, we are all citizens of the same Rhodesian nation. No such thing as "manouvered" immigration policies occured in Rhodesia Nyasaland, there is no proof to back this slanderous accusation against us, and if there is, we want to see it.
  22. "Terrorism Stops here! - Rhodesian Army" RADIO RHODESIA-NYASALAND - Thousands of citizens rushed to the local Rhodesian Army recruitnment offices to enlist and fight against the marxist menace in the Northern province of Luapula. As many as 2000 Rhodesians of all ethnic and cultural background have bounded togheter under the Rhodesian flag to support the Federal Government's struggle against terrorism and all those who threaten the very existance of Rhodesia Nyasaland as a civilized and democratic nation. State President Ian Smith addressed the people in a televised broadcast, announcing that new allowances will be granted to frontline soldiers who volunteer for scouting missions in the no man's land, where situation at least for now seems to be calm. No further clashes have been reported since the deadly battle occured earlier this afternoon, but the military Intelligence warns that "terrorists might launch a counter attack in the few hours.". The morale of the troops is high after the recent victories, and footages of combat operations have been broadcasted on Rhodesian TV to encourage the population to support the troops and report any suspicious activity linked with the Rhodesian National Union - Popular Front.
  23. The fight against terrorism in Rhodesia has nothing to do with ethnic groups, and has no ethnical background. Infact the Rhodesian Army has no restrictions regarding skin color, neither does the Airforce or the Secret Services. It isn't whites against blacks, but whites and blacks against extreme left-wing terrorists who pose a threat to our democracy and our freedom. The last thing we need is a marxist single party state. Regarding to demographics, this is the last census in our archives. However it does not map the entire population of Rhodesia Nyasaland and is restricted only to major urban areas and natural parks where several indigenous tribes live according to their ancient cultural values. These statistics are not accurate, anymore. 2013 CENSUS DATA - as of October 11, 2013 TOTAL POPULATION: 8,676 WHITE RHODESIANS = 5534 (63,78%) 3773 Afrikaaners (43,48%) 1725 Anglo-British Rhodesians (19,88%) BLACK RHODESIANS = 3142 (36,21%) 1066 Shona (12,28%) 832 Ndele (9,59%) 789 Coloureds (9,09%) 455 Malawians (5,24%) According to the last result.. Yes, in Rhodesia Nyasaland there is a white majority. However, skin color does not equal more privileges or less privileges in Rhodesia Nyasaland. The Athenian Federation claimed that the Rhodesian government implicitly carried out ethnic cleansing - however, our requests to see the proofs of said ethnic cleansings have always been ignored. We have invited foreign diplomats to visit Rhodesia Nyasaland, and those who visited our country have confirmed that Rhodesia Nyasaland is a multicultural nation, based on the rule of law, equality and justice for all irrespective of color. The constitution protects the rights of all individuals. The Athenian Federation forced Rhodesia Nyasaland to implement the anti white immigration law - a law that we think it's reminiscent of nazism, a law that we have enforced after 38 people died in a cruise missiles attack launched on our Capital City by the Athenian Federation, a law that we despise and that we are ashamed of. The reason why we are asking the UN to repel this law, is due to the fact that we lack the support and the authority to do it alone. We cannot defend ourself against foreign impositions and we believe the UN has the authority to deal with our situation.
  24. We have asked several times to see proofs of the aforementioned "findings" in Rhodesia Nyasaland, but all our requests have been constantly ignored. Quotas on immigration according to skin color is a policy reminiscent of nazism - which happens to be a product of European mentality, just like apartheid. We wonder what Europe has done to correct the past wrongdoings (many, looking back at the history of Europe) other than enforcing apartheid on blacks, and then on whites, in Africa. We don't force people to move to Rhodesia Nyasaland, and our immigration policies promote the immigration of individuals who plan to stay here and become citizens in order to contribute to the social and material progress of the country, irrespective of color. We have special policies to promote the immigration of former citizens of Transvaal due to the cultural and historical link with South Africa, but our policies don't take skin color into account when promoting such immigrations.
  25. OOC: Thank you. For the sake of RP i kindly ask all players to not send Peacekeepers into the country until the war is over - due to the fact the roleplay will evolve according to IG war results - just asking you to respect the nature of the civil war being strictly related with IG mechanics - after the war i will RP accordingly with RP interventions, peacekeepers etc. So i'm not refusing to recognize anything or refuse to rp, i just want the civil war to follow IG results and RP accordingly - nothing prevents you from posting diplomacy or reactions in the civil war thread, i always welcome roleplay and interactions between nations. Thank you.
