As Magnolia continues to develop we are faced with the continued pressure to join an alliance which has been tempting as we have been offered foreign aid and future military support. As the President of Magnolia, my number one goal and priority is to ensure the safety of my people, develop a strong lucrative economy, and become a strong yet responsible member of the global community. I believe in order to successfully achieve this, we must have strong foreign relations and the support of many nations.
So the question becomes, is joining an alliance the only way to successful accomplish this? There are many great alliances out there. But as we have considered these options it has become clear that joining an alliance means that Magnolia will be subject to the rules and regulations of that organization. So while we will be gaining foreign aid and national security in the event we face conflict in the future, I will be sacrificing our ability to make decisions freely that are based on what I feel is best for our nation. But I also realize that joining an alliance can also ensure that my top priorities are covered immediately.
Is it possible for a nation like Magnolia to remain independent and still become successful?
Gabriel
