Well, I guess I feel slightly sheepish now... should have thought of that. Anyway, thanks for telling, it helps clarify some points for the future.

I will repeat again to get screenshots. I know my upkeep went from 107,999.22 to 108,059.22. The screenshots are as follows. They show my initial purchase of 100 miles of Land. This is followed by a picture of the resulting amount of land I have. The third screenshot shows a picture of bills before purchasing. The final one shows a picture of bills after purchasing. I initially tried to show them with ImageShack, however, CN says it does not allow it's pictures on the forum. So only links are shown. Discrepancies in the amount of land afterward, ie. more than 100 purchased, is accounted for by a variety of resource sets and my Government, which is a Republic. I see, thanks for the explanation. Nice that it's more realistic I suppose, although initially I had been rather pleased with myself at the thought of a way of finding a way to get population without increased expenses. Anyway, as I said, thanks for the response, have a nice day!

Although I tried to determine whether this question has already been asked (I looked back 10 pages), I have not been able to find it. My question was: I was wondering why infrastructure upkeep goes up when you purchase land? I bought around 40 land, first 20 and then observed that my upkeep when up, and as a result 20 more to make sure it had happened. Although not a massive increase, my upkeep did go up slightly, and while I still earn more afterward because of the increased population, I wasn't sure why this happened. Neither the land, or infrastructure were stated to be affected by the other, aside from the environmental concerns, according to Cyber Nations wiki, and by the in game information index. It's a minor concern, but I am rather curious to know why an increase in land and population gained from land caused this rise in the upkeep of my infrastructure. Thanks for your time.
