1. I'd say in my experience enough to hold you over ten days past nuclear anarchy if you're in range of nuclear nations and ten days past anarchy if you're not. Only you know what you spend.
2. Welcome to Planet Bob. If you need any advice drop me a PM in game. I offered another newbie a couple kernels of advice on choosing an alliance in the OWF. Please read it and choose wisely as it will shape your nation for the long term.
3. As a recent re-roller, the generic recruitment messages were pretty constant in spite of intent written into my motto. I lol'd. As someone who's been on both the recruited and recruiter side here's what I would look for if I were looking as a new nation: Aid- Not just in form of cash and prizes, which don't get me wrong is just lovely and thoughtful but if they're not willing to teach you how to build your nation it's basically them peeing into the wind and expecting not to get wet. But at the same time you can't be compulsory in having people advance their nations especially if it's not like you would do it. We're not automatons. Camaraderie- Sooner or later you're gonna need a battle buddy. Sometimes you won't even know right away. If you are in the right alliance it won't be a question. You won't need a nation sitter, anyone with any design on your nation won't last long. Loyalty- Who do you turn to? If you're not willing to take a ZI for em, you are likely in the wrong alliance. This is what I look for and why I returned to the fold of Echelon after a year away. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and if you need any advice PM me in game. -Neo
4. Sorry so late on this. Been walking the walk on this spankin' new hotness. RnR has proven themselves great friends to Echelon, so this was a natural extension of that friendship. o/ R&R o/ AiD o/ Echelon
5.
Echelon are still an alliance? Good show! I thought you guys were dead. Congrats on cleaning up the mess.
Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. To be honest I thought the same of CIS. Glad to be mistaken.
6. “Never so noble as to lay one’s life down for a friend”. Strong words, definitive unmistakable meaning. It is in that spirit I come to you today as Echelon’s Director. Recently the Alliance for International Defence, a mutual ally and protectorate of both ourselves and R&R was viciously attacked by members of UINE. Though they were clearly under not one but two protection agreements the nations in question proceeded with their raid, one continuing to do so after being asked to stop by his own leadership. Any nation who has been around Planet Bob for any length of time realizes this behavior is unacceptable and dire consequences are often exacted from such behavior, either monetarily or militarily. This case is no different. The nations in question and their alliance have rebuffed multiple attemps at the former, so it is up to us to resort to the latter on behalf of the AiD. Despite an option for financial reparations, UINE leadership refused and instead offered up these nations for ZI. We feel that is excessive, and as such a multi-alliance task force has been assembled to exact the payment due to the nations in question for their misdeeds. Elements of forces from R&R, Echelon, and AiD will be carrying out daily strikes upon the guilty parties for a period of 7 days. One of these nations, The Oysterhead of The Oyster Republic, for their individual actions will be ZI’d. In addition any nation who comes to their aid financially or tactically will also be declared upon by reserve elements on standby. It is sad it has come to this, but we can not allow this to stand with our friend’s nations on the block.
Yeah I know, where do you think I got that from
wow! i guess it's similar to how i feel about budweiser
Well you and anyone who has functional taste buds. After about the sixth one as I recall from my younger stupider days you don't taste the epic beer fail anymore and you can continue on the express train to Barfville and proceed to Hangover Junction
8.
Also, what do you think of Foster's?
It's Australian for kangaroo piss!!!
9. I remember you guys from our days in Aqua. Cozmo is paying for our strip o gram (so don't blame me if she has a hairy lip). Happy Birthday guys.
10. The only one I haven't tried there is the Dinkel Acker. Also, we <3 U guys but... light beer? Really?
11. Congrats IRON on the fourth of what we in Echelon hope to be many anniversaries to come. o/ IRON!
12. Caffine having a girlfriend. Aboooe fathering children.
13. Brother Solidus, I have said my piece on the matter via private channels. Nothing said out here will add or subtract from that. We in Echelon still consider you a friend and wish you nothing but the best.
14. Congrats to the enigma of Planet Bob that has yet to be duplicated and stupefies many. Cheers guys
15.
Heh, tru dat.
C'mon Thick like we originated it? Really? I think we have both been around the playground long enough to know better. Not saying we didn't eff up in the past, and at times phenomenally, but it isn't like we were the standard bearer either.
16.
you can build a thousand bridges, and people know you're a bridge builder; you screw one goat, and you're branded for life.
Okay 380. That one deserves a mention in Trashcat's Corner. Best one liner I've seen all week.
17.
I knew there was something different about you... In all seriousness this isnt something you can help with, though it is kind of you to go to bat for your alliance-mate. I like Echelon and I have a great respect for Neo, but like others I have to question the wisdom of having Caffine any where near FA. I wont waste time making a humorus analogy but too many have experienced Caffine's style of diplomacy and it didnt do your alliance justice. Glad to read this announcement PC. I wish you and SBA all the best in reaching an agreement that works for both parties as soon as possible.
Hello. You know you have a crush on Tela, you can admit it Hmm...you mean like;
Neeps wrote: as always Caff, subtle as anal sex
That was from one of our members(and it is in Caff's sig BTW. Take from that what you will )
18. What kind of reps will you be seeking from your IRC channel?
19. Glad to hear the cooler heads in PC prevailed and you are doing the right thing by paying them their reps. For the record in my conversation I never once asked any reps be payed to us, only SBA. So long as SBA is happy with the end outcome I'll throw you a hail o/
20. For the beer review or the selection? The former were terms, the latter was solely my idea(and might I add so was the review content ). I just wanted to try it.
21. Yeah the taste is still there the next morning but not in a bad way. I kind of wish that wasn't the last one in the store when I bought it, I could do with more of that.
22. Okay yeah so a little late. Beer and antibiotics don't tend to mix well. But in accordance with our terms from the last war, I as Echelon Directorate would like to submit to the beer lovers of Planet Bob our beer review. Now some will say the brand says it all, both of our alliance and the beer we have chosen. So be it. Because like our alliance this beer is just too good not to love with a wink and a nod. So without further ado I give you the official beer of Echelon... Fair warning, this isn't a beer for amateurs. You start off here you are going to be running for your mom's stash of Bacardi Breezers. That said on with the beer. Now it is listed as an "American Strong Ale" but I'll be frakked if it doesn't remind me more of a bitters. Very sweet to the smell, with a bitter nip to it. The hops hit your palate like a a brick, but once the carbonation dies down you get this nice bittersweet flavor with a caramel undertone to it. I found it actually went down smoother than Old Speckled hen, but lighter than a porter or even an Irish red. If I were to rate it on a scale of phoenixes, I'd have to put it right up there, say about an 4.5 out of 5, but only because I personally like a little more sweetness. Very drinkable, I could definitely see it in my pint glass along a nice cut of grilled steak and a side of corn on the cob in the summer. Mmmmm, steak. Born of fire indeed
