12. Due being busy IRL and not much happening in game, I have very little content for the next Episode of The Apathy Report. So figured I would mix thing up a little and do a little AMA. If you have anything you want me to talk about, post it here or PM me. Anything from: GI, who are you? To GI, what do you think about this AA/event/person/ect? Of course if none of you actually do anything with this opportunity, then I'll figure out some other way to produce a decent episode.

 19. Episode 4 Transcript
[Intro song] From the depths of the OWF, comes your weekly dose of drivel from the most uninformed man on Planet Bob. I’m your host Genius Incorporated. [Intro music begins dying down] GeniusInc: “Hello and welcome back to The Apathy Report. It’s been what, about two weeks since our last episode? And, absolutely nothing has happened. Quite literally. When I left, there were a couple of things that, you know, were interesting at the time that I wasn’t sure if they would be relevant now. And when I come back, it’s not much better. So, today we’re gonna take a look at the OWF and start taking a look and see how different things are falling into place. Let’s start out with Global Order of Darkness and the Random Insanity Alliance signing a treaty. Now, if you’re anything like me this wouldn’t mean much to you but after a little bit of research it turns out that those two alliances are already in the same bloc. They’re both in the Chestnut Accords. Now, Chestnut Accords is a Mutual Defense Pact, so it appears the only new thing in this treaty is adding an Optional Aggression clause. It’s kind of rare to see two alliances sign a treaty with each other after they’re in a bloc. Most of them are treaties that were in place when the bloc was signed and they just left them there sort of cancelling them. So, this is interesting. Makes me wonder if something’s going on because I’m remembering back to the Disorder War where there were a lot of optional aggression chains and I’m wondering if this is something that’s being set up. It could be nothing, but it could be something. So, keep an eye on that. Next, let’s talk about the North Star Federation because, why not? Guinness and Lavender Town -as we discussed in our last episode- went to war because Lavender Town was raiding Guinness and Guinness decided to stop putting up with it. So they went to war and North Star Federation got involved. Shortly after that, Riot Society got involved. Then, literally thirty minutes after I finished recording the last episode, Guinness leadership, every single one except for their president I think is the proper title, their head guy. The rest of government all left Guinness, refounded an old alliance or rather started a new alliance and took the name of the old alliance, then treatied Riot Society. Basically, Guinness leadership was gutted, they went over to Riot Society, who is protecting Lavender Town who they declared on. So now North Star Federation and a whole bunch of nations from Guinness who didn’t have anything to do with this war were on their own against Riot Society and Lavender Town. And this doesn’t seem like much because they outnumbered Riot Society and Lavender Town by at least one and a half or 150%. But then, the next day North Star Federation pulls an interesting stunt. They peace out of the war. All four alliances North Star Federation, Guinness, Riot Society, and Lavender Town all peace out of the war and the North Star Federation pays seventy-eight million in reps to Lavender Town and Riot Society. This did… well it had an interesting effect on OWF. A lot of people are like “Oh look what you did now NSF (North Star Federation). How are you going to repair your image?” And NSF comes out and says they know what they were doing and they’re willing to deal with it. So this makes me wonder what is going on. Because, basically NSF rolled over and gave in to people they attacked by their protecting of Guinness. So, last night I talked to a member of NSF gov. I’m not gonna name who it is. But I was asking them why did they pay reps when they could have easily beaten their enemies. And I was told that it’s part of a larger plan. Well, not in those exact words, but that was the impression I got. But it’s part of a larger plan. So, I’ve been doing a little bit of research and this is my theory of what is going on. Now, if it wasn’t for the whole PR side of things, public relations side of things, then their move would make sense because they would have gotten a lot more damage than seventy-eight million dollars’ worth, or whatever currency. It would have been a lot more damage than that. So, from a financial side of things, this move makes sense. From a PR side of things, it does not. We recently had a similar example with DoomBird DoomCave attacking the New Polar Order and instead of rolling over and giving up, the New Polar Order decided to fight back, incurring more damages than they otherwise could have and having to spend a lot more money than they otherwise could have, but they chose to keep fighting. And so this is the exact opposite which makes one wonder what is going on. For those who don’t know, NSF is basically, they’re over by C&G (Complaints and Grievances) on the treaty web. I know that they’re good chums with ODN (Orange Defense Network) and they’re putting effort towards getting to know the other members of C&G better. Given this, could they simply have been biting the bullet as to not disrupt bigger plans? Could they have been taking one for the team? Because they said that they didn’t want it to escalate which inevitably would have brought in ODN, us, maybe some members of C&G depending on how far it went. Basically, it could have disrupted the war plans of the C&G power sphere. That’s what I think is the most plausible idea of why they did this. Why did they incur this massive PR quote unquote catastrophe if it wasn’t for protecting something bigger? And that I think is a very likely reason for why they did this. Why they got out of this financially easy thing was to keep it from escalating to better save the nations in the alliance strength of their allies. Which could mean some big moves are about to go down. However, now let’s look at something else. Within an hour and a half of each other, Sparta canceled their treaty with the Guru Order and signed a treaty with GOONS (Goon Order of Oppression, Negligence, and Sadism). For those who don’t know, Guru Order is basically in the Polar Sphere. They are allied to Fark, MHA (Mostly Harmless Alliance), and the Nuclear Proliferation League. If I remember correctly those are their major treaties. So that’s where they are on the treaty web. And Sparta canceled. If I’m correct they had two mutual allies and they canceled on them and then treatied GOONS whose only mutual ally would have been TOP (The Order of the Paradox) which as we already know is a questionable relationship with TOP, New Polar Order, and Sparta. So what’s going on here? I don’t think this has gone far enough to say there is a possibility that Sparta is leaving XX because TOP has gotten close enough to XX to deal with that. If Sparta had treatied TOP and GOONS without either of them being allied to anyone else in XX, I would be wondering this. However, I think what’s going on here is the Polar Sphere-XX is trying to bring over the Umbrella-IRON (Independent Republic of Orange Nations)-Aztec to their side. A mini-treaty map which I will post with this episode that you guys can look at. But what I’m looking at right now is there’s basically three major spheres that are created by the treaties. We have XX and –what’s the name of that bloc?- Aftermath. We have XX and Aftermath in one area, and we have C&G, Usual Suspects, and then new Pacific Order and company in another bloc not another bloc but power sphere, then we have IRON, Umbrella and company, and Aztec in the third one. And, of this it’s fairly obvious that the next war will be between the C&G sphere which is on the bottom side of the map and the Polar Sphere which is on the upper-left side of the map. And the winner of this war will very very very likely be determined by who can get the Umbrella-IRON-Aztec sphere on their side. Because if you look at this you can see it’s rather small. That sphere can’t hold up much on its own. But they have a lot -purely because there’s not enough alliances there- but they have a lot of strength which if it can be pulled on one side or the other will affect the next war. And I think that that’s what’s going on. The Polar Sphere is trying to pull them over. There’s a question of, what would happen if New Polar Order and Umbrella went to war. Who would TOP side with? And I think what they’re trying to do is make this a moot point. Make it so that TOP does not have to make this choice. Because if they didn’t do this, that would be a very likely alternative. It would be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks between the C&G sphere and the Umbrella-IRON-Aztec sphere. Because I know that the C&G sphere is trying to make some moves to getting Aztec and IRON down on their side which would significantly swing the power balance to them. However, now let’s take a look at something that just happened a couple of days ago, yesterday or the day before I believe. And that is the New Pacific Order allied with Atlas. For those who don’t know, Atlas is, or rather was the protectorate of the Orange Defense Network. They’re also very likely thought to be the next member of C&G. Now, I know that this is not entirely true as there’s one other alliance which I will not name at this time that is looking into this and currently has a better chance because Atlas is only good with ODN right now, they’re not really great relations. It’s not that they’re bad relations it’s just that they’re non-existent relations with GATO (Global Alliance and Treaty Organization) and the Last Remnants. So, we’re not sure if this is going to happen; however, it is safe to say Atlas is close to C&G. New Pacific Order is also close to C&G. New Pacific Order is basically for all intents and purposes a member of C&G. They have treaties with every member of C&G which basically means that C&G and NPO (New Pacific Order) is a pseudo-bloc. Now, the curious thing is, this is the New Pacific Order’s first treaty in thirteen or fourteen months. So why did they ally with Atlas because this didn’t change much in the greater scheme of things and this is only recently after they canceled on the New Sith Order which also didn’t change much of anything. So why did the New Pacific Order switch allies like that in a way that didn’t change anything? I tried to get a comment from the New Pacific Order government about this. They haven’t yet gotten back to me. So, perhaps I’ll bring this up again, discuss it in greater length in the next episode. So as we wrap up this episode of the Apathy Report, I think I would like to hear your guys’ opinions on this. Do you think Sparta is maneuvering in such a way to try to get the IRON-Umbrella-Aztec sphere on their side? Do you think that North Star Federation is perhaps taking one for the team in order to enable the C&G-NPO sphere to actually make some moves in the near future? What do you think? Let me know either by hitting me up in game at nation ID 503547, on IRC Coldfront at #theapathyreport, or PM me on the IRON or CN forums, or you could just simply drop a comment in the Apathy Report thread. I would like to hear your guys’ feedback on that, see what you think. We’ll discuss this more in the next episode see if anything interesting happens between now and then. But, until then, take it easy guys!”
