1. You'll be with good people in Argent, best of luck.
 2.
consider it as a gift
While I'm that the OP did something to warrant ZI and expulsion, this is the part where you likely want to start back tracking on the PZI part.
 3.
All for us? If you guys want to get in our pants, just give us flowers. Sweettalking is soo slooow.
Your government was actually reachable and the damage for the incident is already being taken care of (aid offers out and everything). This stemmed from a different incident where an alliance appeared to have a mostly inactive government that was rather difficult to reach. I expect the OWF to try to spin this into some kind of giant anti-NG thing, because you know you're the current bad boy of Bob and random posters from certain preaching prone alliances of course know the motivations why Gre amends its charter. While I'm fresh out of flowers, I could offer you some popcorn for when that show plays out, although I feel like we've already all seen it before a few million times.
 4. Regarding the barren wasteland comments and the general concept that a decline is a bad thing, I have to disagree. I knew a fellow ruler, who has since departed Bob, that had the brilliant idea of recruiting raid victims. An idea of course many people have had. What he found was that when he contacted unaligned raid victims and offered to see if he could get them peace and some tech deals to rebuild, he was frequently rebuffed. It seemed the two most common response where "If you get me peace of course I'll join your alliance" and "If you provide me military support (read: counter attack the raiders) I'll consider joining." Nations from the first group often though turned out to be only using their pledge of fealty as a means to buy peace. A week or two later they'd jump the AA and take their tech deal money with them. Nations from the latter group would become more and more truculent as it was explained to them "No we can't counter attack \m/ | FAN | Shooving | etc". Eventually they'd respond with some form of rant along the lines of "What good are you! I want to win and be the most powerful nation in the world, not a brokered peace settlement". Concepts such as "They have 600 members and a massive MDP web backing them!" where concepts those nations could not understand or chose not to understand. While this is anecdotal, I also only ever hear anecdotes from the other side. I've never seen some host of pure nations who were all innocent raid victims and wanted nothing more than to cooperate with us but were brutally mauled by the raiders. I find the unaligned and underaligned to host a variety of personality types, many of which contribute nothing to Bob. I remain against raiding, but I also don't believe it is turning Bob into a barren wasteland. Our best and brightest aren't being run off. Personally when I'm feeling extra moralist I shoot a simple info PM to nations who are being tech raided. Explaining why it is happening (they're here for the land, money, and tech), that it likely will happen again, and some options to avoid it happening again. I reference the wiki, neutral alliances, and some quality mass member alliances they can consider. Also a little blurb on how rebuilding is easily funded with tech deals. From perhaps 15% of those I message, I get a simple thank you. From some subset of those, people actually take actions to avoid future raids and rebuild. Most of them read it, discard it, and go about their lives. Such is their choice. I wish them well, but I will not miss them when they depart.
 5. It's common sense to ensure that your protection is somewhat ease to find. Any raid is bad for growth in that it stalls forward progress. Reps are useful and all, but the time you spend taking in 15+ million dollars is wasted aid slot time. It's slowing down Gre's tech dealing and slowing down the nation's growth, since they're rebuilding instead of building. Thus we look to ensure a really simple check yields results. It keeps the raids gone wrong down to a minium. Less work on our diplocorps and less building is needed. That being said, if it was announced here, we consider it protected. Wiki and bio aren't required. They're nice additional moves, but a lot of rerolls lie in their bios so that's pointless. I personally don't put a lot of stock in bios and understand why others don't. With the wiki of course anyone can mess around with it. So due diligence is searching this location for "alliance name" and seeing what comes up (OOC: Google also works nicely). Common sense indicates the raiders should also check the wiki and other areas. What I think happens though is a lot of raiders browse war screens and see "Oh look people are hitting this AA, I'll jump in." So by the time one raid gets shut down by your diplcorps, two more have started. At that point I'd be up for charging a "Stupid Lemming Raid" surcharge to the follow on guys. There's also the old "You can only hold sovereignty over what you can protect" argument. Our response to any form of e-lawyering about protected status can best be summed up as "Nuclear launch detected".
 6. Autosave sucks. People should totally go ahead and hit OMFG at update. He's incompetent and they'll crumble. Also there is no way Pillowfort would be foolish enough to honor treaties with an Autosave led OMFG. Hit them now and profit, you totally won't be countered. Really, we swear, no counters. We'll just be out on the lawn singing songs, come out and join us when you're done.
 7.
-snip- The only explanation is prestige. They are fighting for intangibles. And I have to wonder if they can obtain it at this point. Perhaps the fear of losing it is stronger?
The funny thing is that in terms of prestige this war was already decided. The Umbrella DOS to counter large NEW nations from vacationing in the Kaskus AA was understandable enough and logical. Any claim the GOONS had at prestige though was removed when they had to trigger all of Pandora's Box to deal with these raiders. For Kaskus, you can never take away the prestige of them forcing all of PB to respond. At this point it feels more like the prestige aspect of the war is gone though. Now we're moving into the "Who is better at burning pixels out of pig headed stubbornness" phase.
 8.
Real question free of bias: Why? Are you actually convinced that either alliance deserves international support, regardless of their performance in this war? The fact that Mongols are whiny !@#$%*es who bandwagon on wars, and that Kaskus are loose-cannons who can't actually politically maneuver in this game hasn't changed. If anything, it's been highlighted by the actions they have taken this war. I can understand why some might want to idolize them for what they are doing, but political support? You're tying yourself to a lit firework with that one.
I'm actually kind of shocked that the Mongols and Kasksus aren't looking like the worst guys in a scenario. As you said loose cannons and a bandwagon. They're not really groups I'd be even lukewarm about a treaty tie with due to that. I'd imagine that after this incident, most future Mongols or Kaskus threads are going to involve them getting negative PR for overly aggressive actions/raids gone wrong/etc. For now I'll live in the moment and enjoy the show in the battlefield. Past history has painted a less than ideal picture of those two alliances and future history likely will as well. For a brief moment though they get a somewhat flattering picture made of them. Plus one must be impressed with their cohesiveness and their testicular fortitude. You can respect someone without liking them.
 9. In a couple of months when this is all over Mongols and Kaskus are alliances that I personally would want to deal with, and a lot of the community feels the same way. Things like front loaded tech deals (9/300s) or just straight aid drops will help them recover and rebuild, if they even need it. I'd imagine NEW might end up flooding the slots and we wouldn't be able to get a dong in edgewise. I'll also take Kaskus seriously on the international stage. GOONS, meh, why interact with them. You're just going to end up getting called in to clean up their disasters. Long story short, Kaskus can be burned to ZI and ZT, yet it seems as if the majority of the international community is more likely to perceive them as a solid alliance. GOONS, well I guess I'll take them seriously once they get the rest of PB to issue Declarations of Support and such. Until then, meh.
 10.
Huh, because I did the math and I came up with 6-9 months to recover and I was wondering if this was accurate.
Your math could very well be correct for your nation, you have a horrible nation build.
Banks: 5, Border Walls: 1, Churches: 1, Clinics: 2, Drydocks: 1, Foreign Ministries: 1, Harbors: 1, Hospitals: 1, Intelligence Agencies: 1, Labor Camps: 2, Police Headquarters: 2, Schools: 3, Shipyards: 1, Stadiums: 4, Universities: 1
No factories, 2 labor camps despite the fact you collected today, and your trades are also pretty terrible. Oh and you only have 3,075 infra. So that means you didn't clear the 3k jump properly. As others have said with a proper build and warchest you should recover in short order.
 11. The Grämlins are seeking competent tech sellers for long term deals. We offer full use of your slots and timing of aid drops to match with back collections, allowing for more rapid infra jumping. We may also be able to assist with trade circle setup and provide economic planning advice using our experience as the best businessmen in CN. If you are you interested in growing your nation and getting on the wonder clock as soon as possible contact me via forum PM for more details. Please note if you have no aid history that shows experience and promptness with tech deals, we may require references or consultation with your alliance internal ministers prior to accepting you. Unaligned nations are also encouraged to apply. We do require Hive membership though and may require a simple round of 3/100s to verify your promptness and dealing skills prior to putting you in our accelerated program.
 12.
Did the hegemony ever curb stomp with Wat....800 v 20 odds? This is actually a serious question
Woodstock Massacre might have had the record in terms of member count odds. I'm trying to think of another time when the NS odds were so far off. Post GWIII rolling of Legion maybe? Or VietFan? (way too lazy to go check the history books...)
 13. Hegemony Era curb stomps, perfect for when your dumb ass bit off more than you could chew in terms of Manhattan Project to member ratio.
 14. I feel as if most of the community grasps how much of a pain a smaller dedicated force with wonders and warchests can be. The trick is in 90% of the cases, the smaller guys ask for terms fairly quickly. They drain some of their warchest paying off the terms and move on. The times that the smaller force gives the big guys the middle finger and then jams it on the "Launch Nuclear Weapon" button, the the big side loses. Personally I like seeing the smaller guys do it. The deal is I'm not sure if Kaskus and The Mongols are going to cause any alliances to reconsider how they roll. Most alliances lack the fortitude of the aforementioned pair and until the majority of the smaller ones have that kind of fortitude, the big ones will still smack the little ones around at will. In this specific instance Umbrella and MK can clearly afford to rebuild GOONS. The GOONS own growth curve (and their ability to hold sanction on their down) has been messed up, but they got a nice war out of the deal so I bet they're happy. The way the GOONS really lose is if Umbrella and MK ever inform the GOONS that they reached their credit limit. When that day comes, then GOONS government might have to spend more time trying diplomacy (or let a few minor things slide) before they go the war route. The moral of the story is that if you're a small alliance, get everyone a MP, SDI, CIA, and warchest. Then convince them to fight to the bitter end.
 15.
The fact of the matter is, though, that neither are usually grasped by members of the alliance in Democracies. In far too many cases, they're actually glorified popularity contests. Older and less active leaders can win because their name still carries weight, while the less competent of members can just mass message the more inactive members to vote for them. Democracies are beyond flawed here.
Oligarchy disguised as a democracy works pretty well though. Alliances that don't recruit are de facto oligarchies in that random people can't join and get a vote. You need an invite and vouch to get into the club. Or mass member alliances where you have to work get voting rights. Authoritarian systems can be just as flawed when the supreme leader goes off to college/a summer abroad/military service and doesn't hand off power before leaving. Having time limited terms of power is a good check against that move. The trick is you just have to manage the voting pool aggressively. The beauty of CN is of course if people don't like the fact they can't vote, they can vote by taking their nation elsewhere.
