  1. Not sure if this is the place but, why does ignore not include the recently added 'Recent Status Updates' on the forum homepage? I had thought the entire point of the ignore feature was to assist in removing content that folks did not want to see or ( in my case ) evoke a response that would result in hurt feelings and warns. Allowing assorted blowhards unfettered and unlimited access to the front page of the forum seems a silly idea in the first place, but to not allow folks to ignore them may become especially troublesome.
  2. Well we can all be glad, and I am unanimous in this, that they didn't go Ernie.
  3. Thanks...I had not considered it that way.
  4. And perhaps some XP, but is that really profit in the normal sense of the word or just stats grinding? I ask because I never understood the concept of casualties as a measure of success - your dudes getting killed seems like a measure of failure. Kind of like picking up the ugly chick at the end of the bar at 2 am, yeah you might get a lil sumptin sumptin but is that really what you woke up in the morning looking to do?
  5. Short answer is no. Long answer is still no but involves lots of words with one codicil - very large nations that can raid and accumulate land without reprisal can profit immensely. You always end up losing unless folks do not fight back and it takes a special set of conditions to make it impossible for someone to fight back.
  6. Every thread ends up with the same posters posting the same posts. It isn't the reason why this game is dead mind you, but it is certainly part of the reason why it will never be revived, as it appears that the more interesting posters attract too much attention and get 'removed' for things that no one else get 'removed' for. Consistent and orderly posters are easier to watch over.
  7. It is an optional three way treaty bloc. Though perhaps whatever will be will be.
  8. However there are multiple viewpoints. Someone makes a suggestion. I disagree with it because of gameplay issues. Someone else disagrees with it because it doesn't hurt folks enough. A third fellow agrees with it but with some modifications. By the time a good discussion has taken place there are many salient points. Take the top 250 issue for example. Many good threads, many good suggestions and many good reasons to ignore those suggestions. They are not getting summed up in a couple of bullet points and certainly by the time that a mod filters them it would be difficult to give even the impression that those points were presented fairly - opening up a whole can of worms about mod bias blah blah blah. I thought the intent was to make less work for you, not more.
  9. "It will be up to those who disagree with a suggestion to pick one of the persons to write up the opposition view point on that suggestion." Seriously - we can't even agree on what day it is and you expect folks to agree long enough to disagree? Just be honest and let Admin continue to ignore the suggestion forum instead of all this extra silliness. We know he ain't gonna look, you know he ain't gonna look, he knows he ain't gonna look and for those of us whose only entertainment left in this grand experiment is the forums it appears you are going out of your way to suck that last bit of joy away as well. Stop moderating the bejebus out of everything.
  10. Since posts in the moderation sub section of the forum are now secret until approved are posters notified when posts are denied or approved?
  11. You captured the merits of the concept in the title.
  12. This is regarding the payment I sent to one of my tech dealers. I don't pay attention to micro drama, just abusive senators sanctioning alliance leaders and begging other senators to do the same. However, just to be clear, I did send that payment and in 30 days I will send another.
  13. And there was one on land costs until some folks realized you gain a disproportionate amount of land from raiding. You just cannot afford land/tech/infra at some levels *( well below the hard cap on land for example ). You gain very little tech from raids...and if you gained a similar amount of land for raiding no one would be hitting the hard cap. However since that is water under the bridge at least hard cap exists at an insanely huge level far beyond what any game piece should ever have gotten to keep fantasy that the game in balance.
  14. The issue with 'raids' is that they destroy a disproportionate amount of time. You can lose weeks of game play in minutes. Months in days, That ain't a 'raid'. Even your 'soft gentle raid' is a bit like having a glass encrusted baseball bat shoved up your unmentionables. Beyond the top tier land stealing raiders don't even profit from raiding. So for a little 'hurr durr i blow stuff up' and no other gain raiders either frustrate folks into realizing the game is futile or occasionally convince them to join an alliance for protection. You can have a moratorium and collect data, but you already know the answer.
  15. Amazingly sanctions are being tossed around. It is pathetic. Sad. Such a display of absolute failure on the part of those senators.
  16. Unless it is not a bug, but a feature. ( my favorite programming out btw ).
  17. As I have said before, Admin has always wanted a cap for obvious reasons. Queue up the Who's on First debate.
  18. I disagree. There is massive multi cheating going on, but if you engage in politics on the forums ( hard not to for a political simulator ) all it takes is a couple of accusations and poof you go away. We commonly use the mods to fight our wars for us - pissant squabbles routinely end up in the whining pit of game or forum abuse - there is no doubt there is much more private complaining to the mods from all the cowards. If you engage in forum conversations it is not a question of if. It is a question of when the inevitable warnings will hit you. I didn't post much at all for years just because the mods are such touchy folks - now that the game is dead my concerns have faded away.
  19. o/ Walshington. Why is it the better and more entertaining posters end up getting moderated out of existence and we end up with the same piles of crap making millions of useless masturbatory posts. 7800 and sliding down. .... yeah yeah, I'll eat the warning.
  20. I don't know what this is but I have a feeling it requires a welcome and Mazeltov! May whatever it is you do be what you do well.
  21. No delivery across all deals. Bad kitty, bad.
  22. No horse in this steeplechase but gosh golly you make a nice announcement Walshington. o/ Nice Announcements.
  23. I would be on the edge of my seat but I had a bit too much fiber this morning so you will have to excuse me.
