I agree with this point. If people want to keep things fresh and interesting, they have to keep the world dynamic.
I too have changed my style of play several times over the years. Some periods have been more fun than others, but they have all felt new and exciting at the time. I know that I'm very excited for the possibilities of the future, and I hope that others in CN can take the same initiative to think of a new way to play that perhaps they haven't tried before.
Sure, the playerbase is lower in number, and most of the active, engaged community is very top-heavy. But I'll still be here for a while yet, because at the end of the day, the game is what you make it.

That's right; the game is what we make it, as the players. Forget the numbers from the Karma war. The Avenger's coalition has nearly 6000 people in it; that is still a lot of people. If you were to put them all into one room, we would realise that it's a lot of people playing one game!
The key, as has been said, is to keep the game dynamic; to come up with new ideas, new initiatives, and new projects. But change takes time.
And, in any case, I'd wager this is just like anything else; there are going to be good periods and dry periods. We have no idea what the game will look like this time next year; for all we know it might have had a resurgence and surpassed Karma War numbers.
