1. Moo was a great player and a great person. I was really hoping he would pull through and this is a very sad day.
 2.
You've been in my heart for all this time.
Oh is that why everything has seems so red and squishy?
Where HAVE you been Dear Srqt? Good to see you're back. We needed a bit more class in these forums oo/NPO oo/Friends Near and far... Near... Far... Near... Far... (Grover impression... pretty impressive eh? )
Here and there, but I can never seem to stay away from this place
 3. Hey you should tell me what's actually going on. I don't know why I'm writing this here instead of just texting you or something but $%&@ it I have already written this much might as well follow through!

 4. It's almost like I haven't been away for close to two years.
 5.
Yeah, Unkajo, if you were going to make a warrior/shock-troopers alliance you should have been more creative with the name. You should have started with a really slick acronym like SHOCK or WAR and then made the name after that.
I feel he should have formed 2 sister alliances and formed them into a micro bloc called WARSHOCK and had some real acronym fun.
 6.
Hi Srqt, nice to see you actively participating again. What he said was that SF could 'stop the hegemony' and 'without CG' (by which I assume he means C&G) to boot. That's a wholly different thing from saying they were in a position not to be rolled, which indeed they did by political manoeuvring (and by tying themselves to the hegemony). It took an awful lot more than SF to stop the hegemony (in fact it took the hegemony falling apart before it was even possible, and even after that they needed support from Citadel and C&G to make it an even fight).
I missed the without C&G part. Yeah that wasn't happening. We needed everyone to take them down in fact I remember thinking we were going to lose while arguing with Chill in the Karma gov channels the night the war started. Good times.
 7.
Believe what you want about Xiphosis and how much of SF's fall from grace is his fault, but this is pure nonsense. There was never a 'hegemony' until after GW3 (the term was actually coined much later, as part of Karma), and the Initiative and Continuum would both have crushed SF without batting an eyelid. That's presumably something that SF knew and which had a strong influence on their decision to bind themselves tightly to the hegemony (pretty much every alliance had an NPO treaty). During the Continuum era, SF held quite a bit of influence as a secondary 'swing state' (a bit like Citadel), but never had anywhere near the power of Continuum. OP have shown enough that GOD should take the opportunity of coalition peace talks to get some reasonable terms from them. I doubt OP would demand much, merely making GOD surrender to them would be a PR victory great enough to satisfy most purposes, and there's still a lot of scope for material damage (not to mention the humiliation of having your leader ZI and in bill-lock from a group of 'rogues').
Military power and political power are not the same thing. While SF could have been crushed by Q in a straight out bloc war SF managed to position themselves in a place on the web where they became an essential piece to victory for what everyone knew was an impending world war (much like Citadel at the time). So he overstated maybe but it is not at all complete nonsense. Also, hi Bob.
 8.
Why can't he? GOD should probably be looking to broker some kind of peace deal with Vlad, particularly seeing that they don't seem to have any other way to put him down.
He is an annoying Nuke rogue, Nothing more nothing less. There is no reason GOD should or would surrender to him.
 9. It's no TWiP but I was still entertained.
 10.
I think that 150k infra and 35k tech blasted away by the OP says to me that you're very wrong.
That does not have anything to do with his ability to impose terms. He can't, unless a legit alliance that is fighting GOD decides to let him and even then I don't see GOD accepting or VE not stepping in to stop it.
 11.
Cry more.
Hi BL, long time no see. If I'm crying it is only from laughing so hard at the fact that Crymson still thinks he has some reason to be able to talk down to people.
 12.
Well it's too bad that your opinion on what constitutes an alliance doesn't matter in this situation.
Well I guess my opinion and your "alliance" have something in common then.
 13.
How do you figure Ordo Paradoxia are rogues? We simply used the preemptive strike that is so popular today. A rogue is a nation that hits an alliance or nations they dislike to cause some damage before being deleted. We started a war with the goal of defeating GOD. We are now part of a broader coalition that is fighting GOD and other alliances with the same goal of defeating them. The way these things usually end is the winning side gets to impose terms. If our coalition wins we get to impose terms. We have done our fair share of damage as part of this coalition, destroying over 150,000 infra and 35,000 tech from GOD.
Maybe I am a bit old fashioned but I don't see a 3 nation AA as an alliance. Being a rogue doesn't always have to do with being deleted.
 14.
This is true. The NPO actually extended the offer to join as one alliance to have fun in a different realm. There is a reason the channel is #nsa and not #npo. #nsa stood for !@#$%* Alliance.
Best post of the thread, also I didn't know you were still around.
 15.
Indeed, we do. However, the overall damage presented by those nations tends to be diminished somewhat if they're reduced to buying and firing two nukes a day against three nations with SDI, as many are. ....in response to a guy who was posturing by saying that GOD might refuse to take any terms, even though i) they haven't been presented with terms, because ii) they haven't approached us about peace (and I wouldn't expect such for quite a while, really), and iii) we haven't even sat down to figure out terms, because we're quite some time from even having to think about such things.
...In response to a thread that is nothing but pure posturing from a rogue who has no power to impose terms at all.
 16.
Of course it won't happen, and no, he's not implying that we're going to hold GOD in an eternal war...we'll continue nuking them and them us until terms are mutually agreed upon, which is what happens in every war, and if Kevin McDonald is correct and they will not accept any terms, pretty much every nation in war mode will probably reach ZI before peace is reached. If they bring those nations out of peace mode, they too will reach ZI. Result: everyone fighting will get to, or close to, ZI. Quelle horreur! Heh, can't say that I ever expected the day when someone would be wringing their hands at the supposed evil-doings of the !@#$@#$ Basketball Ninjas, Sandwich Confederation and NEAT.
I didn't say you were doing anything evil or were going to hold GOD to eternal war (in fact I know that you wont) I was pointing out that bcortell was just posturing and talking nonsense when he said "I hope you guys don't accept any reps. ZI'ing your entire AA would be much more fun." He was trying to be a tough guy and it was pretty laughable. That's all.
 17.
ZIing someone in war doesn't actually require some sort of special effort or draconian terms...it's the natural product of a prolonged war. As we've been able to stagger all but a couple smaller nuclear nations, most or all of them will hit ZI at some point. Heck, many of us will, as well. As it stands, 33 (I believe) of GOD's 94 nations have dropped below the 1000 infra rebuy threshold ten days in. The only reason that some in GOD won't hit ZI, if this goes on for more than a couple more weeks, is that they are either in peace mode or have smallish tech totals which results in them dropping below our current nuclear range.
I am quite aware of the natural course of alliance wars but I don't even think FAN was ever completely ZI'ed as an alliance which makes the claim laughable. That aside what I am pretty sure he was implying with that post was that it would be fun to keep GOD in an eternal war. That will also not happen.
 18.
Yes, I was talking about all the reps Xiph was included in dealing with.. so CSN-DT included. And Kevin McDonald, I hope you guys don't accept any reps. ZI'ing your entire AA would be much more fun.
Posture, posture, posture. You won't be ZI'ing the whole alliance and neither you nor Vlad will be imposing any draconian terms on GOD. Vladimir doesn't have the power and no one else has the balls.
 19.
No, the point isn't valid, because it changes nothing. "Hey, look at me! I can point out the obvious like 99999999999 people before me? Aren't I special?" is about all it accomplishes. The numbers you mention aren't wrong, but making a post about it is. If he really cares that much, start going around to every online community and aggressively recruiting. If you aren't going to do that, don't complain about something we all know and are tired of seeing mentioned.
I said his point was valid (and it is), I didn't say the thread was good, the point needed to be made or that it mattered. But instead of ignoring the thread or refuting the fact that the numbers are relevant people decided to come in here and say equally stupid things that didn't at all address what the OP was actually trying to say, so I figured I would point out that they were also saying stupid irrelevant things. No need to get so touchy.
 20.
what is this? facts?
And his facts that show that the "large" coalition is smaller than Karma's "Small" one refute the OP how?
 21.
Signing that treaty with polar was RIA's biggest mistake of the war.
We are at war, the reasons, grudges and bad political moves that caused us to be at war are now only relevant in an academic sense. When this is over we, as an alliance, will review all the events that put us in this position and use that information to guide us in the future. Until then just enjoy the fireworks and and try and think of new and interesting ways to bury your enemies in the future.
 22.
TOP's completely different. The old TOP did things like attacking NpO without a CB over old grievances when they had gotten politically isolated and had pissed off their close ally, the leading political figure of the time. The new TOP would never do something like that!
Ohhhh I get it now! Now TOP is boring and repetitive! Much better!
 23. Regardless of how off he is the point is still pretty valid. More nations were in the Karma war than currently exist in the entire game.
 24.
In other words, they are Schattenmann.
Clever. I keep hearing people say TOP has changed but they seem like the same old TOP to me.
 25.
Yea, they seem to get the mountain's share of the flak, but I always considered you and a few other old guard'ers part of that club too if it makes you feel any better. Can't say that I even think it's an insult to be part of "that club" anymore though. Seems TOP is a great case of an alliance who has changed with the times and played a major role in shaping Planet Bob. And that's one of the best compliments you can give an alliance/leadership given our downward run towards stagnation.
How is it a compliment to have shaped the current world on its downward run towards stagnation?
