    lol Methrage, you've been cheering DBDC on while they throw their weight around, but now that it's interfering with your life suddenly they're being unreasonable? This is what they do.

    Yeah, I agree that mercy is often good for pratcial and moral reasons. But when it comes to DBDC, there's no pragmatic reason to have mercy on them, because they display none. And once you condone destroying and looting without provocation, you really lose the moral high ground when it comes to extortion. So I fail to see how WTF weakens their long-term position or forfeits the high ground by responding to unbridled aggression with demands for reparations. This isn't an annual treaty web war where they're doing to fight for a couple months, white peace, and then maybe switch sides next time around. This is brutality finally coming up against a hard target that isn't going to accept a hit and run attack. Edit: and always forgetting the hilarious fact that these horrible unjust demands are coming from the defending side :psyduck:

    Long story short, Os: I wouldn't do anything to anyone that I don't think I would deserve if the situation were reversed. That doesn't mean that a given behavior is always bad or always good and we should ignore context. It's like you can't tell the difference between jail and kidnapping.

    When they attack across the web with impunity and then hit you completely unprovoked and do multiple milions of damage to you? Edit: Bullying in the form of raiding/unprovoked destroying = OK. "Bullying" in the form of demanding harsh reps of your bullies = NOT OK!

    The more time, energy, and ego you invest in CN, the more it actually takes on meaning for you. So I'm not surprised that some of us have been here for 9 years now. I mean, yes it is "just a game," but once you dedicate that much to a pursuit, there's no denying that it affects you in a very real way.

    Does DBDC have a procedure for establishing its leader, or is the largest nation the de facto leader? Or have you even had to think about this up until now?

    When we discussed merging CoJ into NpO, I had some serious concerns. But getting to know Dajobo made me realize it was absolutely the right home for all of us. He had a moral clarity of leadership that's almost impossible to find, and all of us in Polaris have been extremely lucky to to have at the helm. Here's to the nicest guy in the Cyberverse o/ I'm glad that we have someone to take over as Emperor who enjoys Dajobo's full confidence.

    After that whole "Death Cookie" thing a while back, I'm surprised OBR couldn't have just e-lawyered their way out of this, especially since the guy got hit first before he could become the aggressor.

    I think I understand the agreement that was made, but it's sad that OBR would have to offer DBDC anything just to accept a member.

    The funny thing about really sticking it to people when you're on top is that eventually the roles always get reversed. I don't mean this as a threat, just a lesson that nearly everyone has learned by this point that you might want to consider.

    It seems we're supposed to believe that the singular of DOOMBIRDS is pronounced "rogue." Edit: I shouldn't make assumptions - maybe DBDC just wants to start a sanction war. That's cool.
