An “army of bandits” has attacked our friends. Per Blazin' Saddles Pact 2.0: SUN signs few treaties, and those we do sign, we swear to honor. Therefore, the State of Unified Nations declares war on Global Alliance And Treaty Organization in defense of Invicta.

The State of Unified Nations recognizes the recent hostilities against us as a Declaration of War by New Desolate Order. Obviously we have been repeatedly targeted for being a vocal voice against the introduction of formal and de facto treaties into Tournament Edition. We will fight against all odds and show no disdain despite being BARELY A WEEK SINCE LAST WAR. We hope that we can resolve these differences with NDO with the good sportsmanlike conduct that SUN has tried to encourage and always supported in TE without acquiescing to the introduction of an SE-treaty culture to TE.

On behalf of SUN, we are proud to continue developing closer and closer ties to the fine people who comprise the North Atlantic Defense Coalition. I have been asked to make a statement on behalf of SUN in regards to the topics currently progressing in this thread. Foremost, I feel it is important to reiterate that SUN is an alliance that stands by its values of what is right and wrong. Thus, SUN will not accept unilaterally-decided terms nor recognize treaties. These are anathema to the good sport of Tournament Edition and degrades the distinction between TE and Standard Edition. This is a trend that SUN deplores and will not support. Therefore, SUN rejects NAO/SKARO suggestion that somehow their obvious down declare immediately following our last war is justified by the “generous” terms of only nuking us 3 times for each of our nukes. Furthermore, I would like to point out the obvious contention between the fact that SUN fought for a month straight last round in order to reject Specify Other’s demand that we recognize their de facto protectorate of WAPA and NAO/SKARO's knowledge beforehand that lumping SUN and WAPA together would ensure an advantage in that we were unlikely to coordinate and cooperate in a joint defense against their unwarranted aggression. SUN may not be as strong or have as many nations as we have had in the past, but our values and convictions have not changed. We will continue as we always have to fight with all our strength, with honor, and in friendly terms of good sportsmanship. For us, not entering into collusion with NAO regarding restricted warfare (a ToS violation) and not recognizing the treaty of SKARO or the de facto treaties of SO is important to the continuance of TE as being something different than SE and IMPORTANT to the larger community of Cybernations in general. To fight the good fight and lose is far better than to cower to unilateral demands of those who have a deluded sense of self-importance. Thus, in conclusion, SUN rejects NAO’s terms and recognition of SKARO’s treaties. Furthermore, SUN will act in good faith in succinct negotiations to end hostilities in the historical, good sportsmanlike nature of TE without special conditions or recognition of these new ideas that threaten the distinction between TE and SE. We extend an extra note of appreciation to xR1 and PSPiz, and their respective offices of Foreign Affairs, for their untiring efforts in securing improved relations between our alliances and formalizing these bonds with this treaty. Additionally, it has been a pleasure developing friendships with the leadership of Invicta and getting to know better our friends there. First, I am not an official representative of SUN in Foreign Affairs, so I would hope that everyone will construe my words as just another nation ruler in SUN. I will not bother to address any of the accusations made by Specify Other – as I see it pointless to do so. However, I feel it necessary to state the reason that SUN has not accepted conditional peace terms demanded by SO. 1) Conditional peace is an SE idea – not a TE one. In TE, alliances have fought, decided a date for peace, and parted shaking hands. Setting conditions for peace is unsportsmanlike. Furthermore, SUN accepting a conditional peace sets a dangerous new precedent for TE. What will the next level of condition be if SUN accepts now the condition that we must recognize the de-facto protectorate SO has with WAPA? That YOUR alliance must decommission MPs, eject a member, promise not to attack again? 2) SUN has never made nor recognized any treaties in TE and we will not do so. SO has put itself in the position of being the protector of WAPA – which is another SE cultural element that does not belong in TE. I am proud to be a part of an alliance that is willing to fight until the end of the round to preserve the culture of TE against these continued encroachments from SE. I am glad that more nations and alliances are joining TE and hope that trends continues, but I feel strongly that conditional peace and treaties undermine the purpose of TE and threaten everyone who enjoys the combat-over-politics tradition more than the politics-over-combat tradition of SE. I, for one, fully support KillerCruiser’s decision to reject the legitimacy of SO’s protection of WAPA – and thereby to reasonably reject a peace offer with a condition that requires SUN to recognize their de facto treaty.

Pact of Honor - to Death and to the Light Preamble Through SUN’s motto, “For Honor, For Glory, For SUN”, the State of Unified Nations acknowledges that we explicitly share the ideal of “Death Before Dishonor”. Two alliances who share the high standard of honorable thought and honorable action rightly should be interested and dedicated to the preservation of each other. Article I - Honor Each Other Death Before Dishonor and the State of Unified Nations agree to respect and honor the sovereign authority of the other over their respective memberships and governance. Each recognizes the cultural uniqueness of the other and pledges to support the right of their other to self-determination. Article II - Honor Courage Together Each party pledges to provide support to the other in all matters. Specifically, neither will publicly or privately insult, verbally attack or defame the other alliance or leadership. Additionally, neither party will attack, via declaration of war or espionage, or assist a 3rd party in attacking the other. Each party will provide any useful information and will not provide information harmful to the other to an outside party. SUN and DB4D will provide AID when requested to the other in any form that is mutually agreeable - militarily, financially, with planning or intelligence, or moral and spiritual support.
