It's unfortunate that CnG was hit by a preemptive attack, it was a move I don't agree with. But the CnG bloc is almost as culpable with the vitriol they've displayed for the last 4 months. With the unchecked aggressions and all the smug. That attitude may work well when you're the underdog, but now that you've risen to a higher position, you better change your tune or you'll alienate the entire structure that holds you in place. How long does either the TOP coalition or CnG bloc think they can drag their allies through the mud for their petty squabbles over the upper tiers? The people are tired of the posturing of giants.
Yeah because there is not enough places for this to be discussed. For god sake man, go to one of the may other announcements
2. My god some people just can't help themselves by taking pop shots at the other side, when the other side have been gracious, which in itself is the correct way to be. I congratulate those who have been put in power, although it did come as a bit of a shock to see an announcement that didn't (in the initial announcement anyway ) involve the ongoing war. Also, Sky why you never come see me in our channel
3.
I don't get it. Is this supposed to be amusing?
It seems the leaders of the nations of Planet Bob sense of humour is something to be questioned. Really, this is rather sad.
4. OK so these stats only take in the top 140 alliances but uses stats for those 140 that include alliances outside the 140... Also Bud - you sizist
5. I still don't think DoWing on 3 Purple Alliances = a Purple Curbstomp, but none the less I hope everyone is having fun.
6. Like previous if this has been posted already - then tough When you look at your nation and see there have been no new PM's and feel lost.
7. The problem is because there is not enough role playing during say peace time, people "forget" they're role playing during war time (forget is probably really the wrong word). That coupled with the fact there is really nothing in the game mechanics to make people think twice about, for example launching or receiving nukes, restocking soldiers day after day etc. etc. . People have lost (did they ever have?) what it is to role play as a National leader. To get back to taking war as a serious matter, the War Mechanics in the game will need to total overhaul - until then I and no doubt many others will welcome all opponents to the field and enjoy the change from what is the norm during peace time.
8. It's hard not to be polite - if that is how you are in OOC. Those that are generally rude or aggressive in IC are mainly people likely to have been bullied at school, work or in general in their OOC life. Most forums that do not have an IC/OOC split call them Keyboard Hardmen - perfect description as it is the only time they can be on top... I'm sure a study showed those that are over aggressive or rude in role play need help - it's not healthy or right. You can say the same for those who take things personal, hold grudges etc. as many of these can not be put under the IC category as it is obvious many grudges have gone well past the OOC/IC line. But this is me getting off topic, unless the game expands into Nations making announcements when anything is done (every-time a hospital is built or a wonder or something) then Role Play is going to be only a small part of it. For example someone buys their first nuke - hell man that's going to be big news on a planet... yet in this game it is not, because Nation Role Play seems to be discouraged for more Alliance stuff - but even then it only seems to be War/Peace/Treaty/Government announcements that are made. If those in CN want to make role playing the major part of CN, I expect posts from practically every alliance daily, telling us all the mundane stuff going on in the alliance that day - and then to make it even more roll play the same for every Nation in that alliance. This way, we'll see those who really want to roll play.
9. Still missing The Zoo Declaration
10. Number of Soldiers Lost in All Wars. 1,243,300 Attacking + 1,148,314 Defending = 2,391,614 Casualties Casualty Rank: Ranked #297 of 26,138 Nations (1.14%) In this war, I have lost about 300K. A memorial will be held today at 2pm GMT.
11. It is not a good strategy. It's an excellent one - no one can doubt that. Just as long as they don't try and re-write history...
12. Sure we do know what a Ghost Declaration is. Won't change the fact, that no doubt when it is all done and dusted Spartans *spit* up and down will be claiming how they DoW'd on x, y and z.... not to mention a-w as well...
13. It is a small sphere in the manor only a tiny percentage of new starts automatically join purple.
14. Tbh, Alliance Politics should have a lot less post in it if we're doing pure roll play as in no way would the average alliance grunt be allowed to comment on higher politics, especially those announcements from other alliances. As soon as you give permission for anyone and everyone to post in a place like that you lose any concept of Role Playing.
15. Because when you sanction someone you **** up up to 4 other peoples trades too, which can cause a mass effect on someone ability to fight. Especially on a small sphere like Purple, when it is difficult enough to get a trade circle going.
16. NpO didn't come in to save TOP from GOD. They came in to sort out the mess they left NSO in. They signed a peace treaty without a backwards glance at the NSO before realising they had ****ed up.
17.
Crymson's logs claim to prove that he did: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=80162&view=findpost&p=2163314 If we accept this, and if Grub was keeping to the letter of the MK treaty, then he also notified them of the TOP/IRON attack under Article VI.
Which if you believe the words coming from MK and ODN at least we know Grub didn't. As many people claim this was an attack out of the blue, but if Grub was sticking by the treaty than MK would have known asap that the war was coming... It is the membership of Polar I feel for - and her other allies on "this" side of the war. As it would be in many an alliances right to DoW on Polar in defence of TOP, which could leave other alliances on "this" side in the WTF position of possibly fighting on both sides. I have to hand it to Grub though, you have certainly made sure your name goes down in history...
18. I know from past experience it would have been annoying as hell for you lot to be just sitting there waiting, but finally you're in and I hope you have as much fun as we all are.
19.
A week ago, before the war started, you were spitting flames at each other. Now you're best buddies because you're launching missiles at each other. It doesn't make sense.
To be fair that's not true. I don't think PC, DT or NoR even knew who The Zoo were, and probably still don't. Nor do I remember Valhalla and FAN slagging each other of for the week before the war? Although, you do I guess have a point in the rest of your statement but I cannot help it, as that is who I am IC and OOC. I'm the down to earth, no bull****, get to the point kind of guy. I guess that's why I liked TOP's DoW so much.
20. There may be purple nations trading with him within certain alliances. I'm sure they care at this time (especially during a war) that they are now a trade down...
21.
Wow, that sounded lusty. What is under your hat? This mission is far from complete, and like you, countless others will be summarily pleased in the foreseeable future. And MK certainly is not a fair-weather ally, I say, as one member within the 'everyone' category that you just mentioned. If you paint your future statements with a brush that wasn't as broad, they might be taken more seriously.
Not really. Please, if I missed it show where MK have backed the NpO over \m/ then the other 6 or so alliances that declared on them over the last few weeks - not that I have a problem with it myself
Hmmm, maybe MK already showed they will back NpO against the odds. I do think you can blame something on MK in the situation which has arisen the past weeks. They overextended their treaty-network, but they without guilt can throw the first stone.
I'm not blaming MK for anything, am I? I'm actually applauding them! If I am blaming then please point it out for me please.
22. So like I said, you're doing a **** job of it
23. Fake announcement title is so 2 years ago by the way - maybe when this war is over people will get new material!
24. Don't be silly. The NpO are only MK's ally when MK need something. Everyone knows that MK will not be backing the NpO in their time of need. There is no need to, MK already have what they wanted from the NpO. Why continue to please when the mission is complete? I have to say though, my hat goes up to MK, well played.
