In the case of a signatory getting involved in a war and was attacked first due to actions based on their ally not connected to the partner of this signatory, the one not involved in the conflict should not be asked to assist the alliance attacked. I knew trying to explain this would be difficult for some people, i hope this helped.

With the signing of this ODP non chaining treaty we do just that. [b]Article 1: Sovereignty[/b] Both parties recognize that they are both sovereign entities and agree to never knowingly interfere in the internal and external affairs of one another. Any intrusion to this first article may result in the immediate request of cancellation of this treaty. [b]Article 2: Non Aggression[/b] Both signatories shall show love and kindness with one another for the entire duration of these accords and agree to never conspire or commit acts of espionage against one another. Both signatories agree to never give any form of aid or assistance to an alliance or individual that a signatory of this treaty is militarily engaged with. Both parties recognize that any violation of this article may result in an immediate request of cancellation of these accords by the affected party. [b] Article 3: Intelligence[/b] Both parties agree to share any and all information with each other that pertains to the safety and stability of one another. Any information passed shall be kept confidential and not shared with any third parties unless explicit permission is given. [b]Article 4: Optional Defence[/b] Should a signatory of this treaty be brought into a defencive war on their own accord against a non-signatory alliance, the other signatory is to provide military aid, although this is optional and is not required. Both signatories have the option of requesting assistance from the other signatory when taking part in their own defencive war, although highly encouraged to do so, neither signatory has the obligation to fulfill this request and this decision shall be respected and supported by the other signatory, regardless. [b]Article 5: Cancellation[/b] This treaty may be canceled at any time, by either signatory. The canceling party must give the other signatory a private, 72 hour notice of their intent to cancel. A 72 hour grace period shall be put in effect once the cancellation has been decided, in which the treaty shall remain in effect until the time has elapsed. Both signatories should pursue a diplomatic approach to solving their issue before issuing any statement of a cancellation. A quick declaration without such arrangement will not be accepted. Should Articles 1 or 2 be violated, with no chance of a diplomatic solution that allows for the continuation of these accords, this treaty may be canceled immediately by the affected party, thereby releasing both signatories from all the obligations set out in this treaty at the moment cancellation notice is given. [b]Article 6: Non chaining agreement[/b] If either signatory is attacked due to honoring a military treaty that they share with a foreign alliance both alliances understand that the other signatory will not enact the option and that decision will be supported by the other signatory.
