This makes a ton of sense. My understanding was that you declared on NPO as a pre-emptive measure before they entered the NpO war. On a personal note, forgiving the reps had nothing to do with PR since I didn't really expect this to be announced and I knew full well that even if it was, the people who were too blind to see why reps were justified in the first place would hardly be mollified by the forgiving of reps later on. That's neither here nor there, this is a place to congratulate TKTB et al on a job well done, so well done. I wish you the best of luck going forward.

The paper is about government formation, why would he need to go into depth detailing the mechanics of CN and the game's peculiarities? Having said that, I don't think there's that much complexity in the decision making processes behind the formation of most governments in CN; the issues that we see in real world government formation, such as civil liberty, social mobility, elitism, ethnicity, culture et cetera simply don't matter in a world where governments are responsible for a few hundred people at best and the majority of those aren't hugely interested in internal politics.

Treaties aren't as fun when they aren't secret, ah well

I was literally just thinking that CN needs a new alliance with a clever new theme that will inevitably draw in members. There just aren't enough.

Why oh why can't we be more classie? Also there are some people of average intelligence in this thread.

My point was simply that the damage TKTB caused my alliance was without good cause.

[/quote] I suggest you go and view the amount of tech they have and compare it with the amount we've requested. How is it impossible for them to pay it themselves? The reason the 50% term is there is because these reps are supposed to be punitive but certain alliances asked if they could help TKTB so we came to a compromise; not because they are unable to pay the total amount on their own. We have not told any half truths or lies. SLCB was not at war with NpO. TKTB did enter the war against SLCB specifically to defend TIO. TKTB did refuse an offer of white peace. TKTB's prolonged resistance and refusal to accept defeat achieved nothing other than to cause damage to SLCB nations worth far more than the amount of reps we've requested. If you don't feel that reparations are justified then feel free to hate. The bottom line in my view is that white peace is a very lenient end to a war if the war has a clear victor; if the commonly held view in this realm is now that an alliance can refuse white peace as many times as it wants and still expect to end up attaining it when it decides it has fired off enough nukes, I would say that this goes against simple common sense.
