You've been amongst the best allies any alliance could hope to have, NPL... and, even though this is quite sad in some respects, I'm also glad that you're going out on your own terms and taking the time to celebrate your community over the years. So, congratulations... and good luck to all of your members wherever they find themselves — you've made a more than decent choice with Polar, at least. It's been a privilege, personally and professionally. ... I guess if there's some consolation I can take from this, now I'll never have to tell Kem that NPL actually failed their SF admission vote and I fabricated a positive result.

CRAP and R&R have held a treaty with each other for a while now — approaching three years, in fact. Despite that, the treaty has never been activated in any significant conflict and, unfortunately, it no longer fits the needs 'n wants of both alliances... so the ODP between R&R and CRAP no longer exists. Nevertheless, we wish CRAP the very best of luck in all future endeavors.

R&R concluded her 13th Presidential elections earlier this month with one glaring omission — after serving R&R as a Triumvir / President for 44 of the past 47 months, EgoFreaky has made the decision to retire from public office and did not contest the Presidential election. There is no other person who has had as much influence over R&R since Ego joined mid-2009 (and, arguably, over our entire eight year history) so it's difficult to pay adequate tribute — R&R's experienced both good and bad, we've been loved by our allies and derided as a thorn in the side of our enemies... but perhaps most importantly, we have continued to find growth 'n success in these twilight years while many others have withered and died, all with Ego at the helm. Since neither Ego or Garion have been around in any real capacity since November, and berbers hasn't been NATO gov in forever... I'm not sure if you should even be flattered by your inclusion. :|

Perhaps, but I doubt their motives extended beyond support of R&R. They took a stance and backed it up; it's not like they thought they were suddenly going to get in a cheap shot in and win the war for us. They also weren't the only ally unhappy when GOONS came up, but they were the only one in a position to support us to this degree. So, I suspect they would have been happier if R&R wasn't attacked again and they didn't have to become involved. GOONS and TOP, on the other hand, seem to be frothing at the gash.

I don't think any part of that's a conspiracy theory. I've only commented in support of Mogar's "you knew what would happen" and in protest of Auctor's deliberate doltish attitude. IRON were talking about switching sides and potential opponents were giddy at the thought; they've said it to R&R directly. GOD stated they would defend R&R if we were hit by GOONS... and I don't think it's a conspiracy theory (but I guess I could be wrong) to say their potential opponents were not lacking in enthusiasm either.

Should I have said glee or excitement instead of bravado? The point being that people seemed anything but upset or threatened in either instance, and in fact were rather happy about the prospect.

Okay, let's play the game where we pretend things didn't happen. TOP/NATO had nothing to do with it — rumours of IRON switching sides to support TIO were met with a great deal of hostility and "do it, I dare you" type bravado.

But GOONS knew what the end result would be before they declared — everyone in your coalition did, so I believe the point Steve's making is... it's not that big of a surprise, and unlikely this wasn't discussed.

I'm sure it was with the same rabid enthusiasm in which they were baiting and challenging IRON to support TIO earlier in the war.
