1. Would you like us to spell it out here, or would it be more convenient to convey that information in the "war reason" field? Attacks on a protectorate of TIO are treated the same as attacks on TIO itself, regardless of when protection was established. If you want to face those consequences, then by all means, continue raiding PNU, though I seem to recall reading your alliance's signatures in a surrender post that suggests otherwise.
2. http://cn-tio.com/forum.php You can't resist those forums.
3. You've got some great people here - good luck, have fun, and stay in touch!
4. Now with 7.5 million reasons to join.
5. It depends on your resources and such, but somewhere around 20k infra the bills increase more than the income. As far as I know, there aren't any feasible hard caps and you can buy at least 30k
6. This place is awesome. Come join and help us break the 6mil barrier!
7. I have decided to join The Imperial Order! Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. There are a lot of great alliances out there, and I wish all of you the best of luck in your endeavors! Hello Cybernations! I’m html. You probably haven’t heard of me, but I’ve been playing this game for about 1800 days now. During the first 1000 or so days of my existence, I didn’t really do anything interesting. A couple of years ago, I was approached by a few friends who wanted to start up a new alliance, and thus The Conclave was born, and I served as a Triumvir. Eventually The Conclave merged to create State of Nirvana, where I was a member of the Council. During all that time, I gained invaluable experiences, learned a ton, and had an all around great time. Yet I always regretted never really participating in an alliance before my own (hey new guys looking to make the new great micro: take my word for it and join a more established alliance first. It’ll save you a lot of head-bashing). State of Nirvana recently merged with Argent, granting me a prime opportunity to participate in a brand new alliance, and so I’m turning to all of you to help me find a new home. About me: I’m a college student studying computer science, and I’m a complete technophile. Programming is a pretty significant part of my life, and I interned at IBM last summer, and will return for this summer. Obviously this doesn’t mean you need to know how to convert your nation id to binary in your head, but I’d prefer to go to alliance that can match me with people of similar interests. On the CN side of things, I’m mostly an IA guy, with my specialty being recruitment. When I recruit at full throttle (read: every day), I send out a message to just about every nation that hasn’t already picked an alliance by the time I get to them. If you’ve created your nation in the past year and a half, chances are one my messages was in your inbox. More than anything, I want to learn from my new home. After having spent years running my own alliances, I would like to contribute the things that I think I did right, and learn what I did wrong. Here’s a nice easy list of other requirements: 1. Size – I’m looking for a large alliance. This is pretty arbitrary, but probably at least 3mil NS. 2. Quality – This should be an alliance that gets stuff done right. Things like organizing trade circles and tech deals should go like clockwork. 3. Government – If my skills and knowledge prove worthy, I would like to work my way up the ranks of government, and so a prospective alliance should be at least somewhat democratic or meritocratic. Note, however, that if you send me a message saying “if you join us, we’ll give you x position” you almost certainly don’t satisfy requirement #2. So yeah, if after all of that, you think that you might want me to join your alliance, please do try to recruit me. Feel free to post here, but if you’re serious, you should query me in #theconclave. I’m working full time for the summer, so I’m most available on evenings (EST) and weekends. I will update this post as soon as I make a decision.
8. I'm glad we could put such a longstanding friendship in writing. o/ Pax o/ SoN
9. Janax you're a great guy, and you'll definitely be missed. Best wishes to you and Argent.
10. Edit: Person found. Trade circle currently closed. @iTzNobody, I'll shoot you a PM if someone bails. Hey all, We're organizing a black 5BR (Asphalt, Automobiles, Beer, Construction, Steel) and we are missing a nation with oil/rubber as their resources. If you are interested, please contact me and send trade offers to the following rulers: - Aluminum/Uranium: larknesss - Fish/Water: Rebelcommander6 - Iron/Coal: blue sandz - Marble/Lumber: billythesquidd11 - Wheat/Cattle: venger Thank you
11. Congrats to the good people of Argent, and good luck with the next 4 mil.
12. Sign up and get 3mil in starter aid! http://cn-nirvana.com/
13. I'm really looking forward to seeing what all of these great minds can accomplish. A big shoutout to all of our allies, especially Argent, who protected both of our alliances.
14.
With Harbour: [Aluminium] [Cattle] [Fish] [Gems] [Iron] [Lumber] [Marble] [Pigs] [Spices] [Sugar] [Water] [Wheat] Bonus Resources: [Fast Food] [ Beer] [Construction]
The problem with this is that gems are used as a wild card, and better wild cards are available. That means it's going to be harder for you to set up this circle. You do, however, fit perfectly into the "alternate" 3BR - fast food, fine gems, and affluent population. The problem with this is that it gives very little infra price reduction, which makes a huge difference over time. You could look into temporarily trading resources to get cheaper infra. Personally if this were my nation, I would re-roll, but you'll do ok even if you don't, as long as you're willing to put the effort in.
15. Good treaty - congrats to the signatories!
16. If your nation has a lot of incoming aid (tech deals) go with factories, otherwise get banks or stadiums (you can calculate which is better based on your nation income).
17. I'm really happy that this situation could be resolved without further escalation of the conflict. This is proof that diplomacy can work. I wish AcTi the best of luck in reaching new highs.
18. Last time I vote for you as Senator Bring it onnnnnnnnnnnn
19. Furs and oil are pretty bad. I would try again.
20. Gold/Iron is an improvement - with them you can fit perfectly into a typical 8BR, which is a popular setup that's particularly useful for infrastructure purchase and military development. I personally prefer 3BRs, especially for new nations, because the population benefits greatly improve income and make improvements come by faster. Here are the benefits of each: 3br:
Income boost - Citizens: +30.56%, Happiness: +11.5 to +12.5, Income: +$0 to +$2 Infrastructure modifiers - Infra cost: -28.99%, Infra UpK: -17.2%
8BR:
Income boost - Citizens: +16.64%, Happiness: +11, Income: +$6 Infrastructure modifiers - Infra cost: -35.2%, Infra UpK: -21.34%
There isn't a huge economic difference, especially considering you'll spend a lot of money on infra/bills. If you plan on getting involved in wars, keep what you have, but if you want a purely economic build, it may be worth re-rolling.
21.
Yep, it's a new nation. I'll just reroll when I can, then. Thanks a lot for your (collective your) help! Question: my nation appears to be happy with Monarchy AND Norse religion. As I recall, Monarchy is one of the best governments for a small-to-medium nation (or something like that?), and based on my nation theme I'd be pretty disappointed if my nation turned out to want to practice Voodoo or whatever. Is your starting preferred government and preferred religion important? Can you ever get your populace to change?

From time to time, your people will change their preference on gov type, and on religion. It's random. Monarchy used to be considered the best gov type, and it was often suggested that you use it in all circumstances. However, there were some changes in the rules, and now, the best gov type varies more depending on your circumstances and your populations preferences. I agree with those who said that a new nation with coal/gems would be better off to re-roll.
To build off that and answer the rest of your question, religion doesn't affect anything beyond the happiness bonus for having the one your citizens prefer. Eventually you'll be able to buy a wonder that makes your citizens like whatever religion you want, but until then you'll have to switch according to their whims or suffer a happiness penalty. Also, this may be helpful for picking a government: http://www.cybernations.net/about_topics.asp#Government_Type
22. There aren't necessarily tiers of individual resources - you can have two great resources that might not work well with each other. If you want to tier them by pairs, I'd say something really simple like this: 1. You have two resources that fit perfectly into a TC you desire (usually a 3br, 5br, or 8br). 2. You have one resource that fits in a TC, and another that is an acceptable wildcard. 3. You do not. With Coal and Gems, you can fit into the Affluent Population TC, but these are somewhat rare and definitely not as effective for new nations. As a result, you'll have a hard time getting one, and even when you do it won't be perfect. If your nation is new, I would just reset. It'll pay for itself within days, and years later you'll thank yourself.
23.
I wasn't saying the benefits of buying tech outweigh the benefits of selling tech, nor was I measuring the degree of profit, but selling tech always generates a profit so long as you're spending less on tech than you are receiving in aid. It's a profit, regardless of how much profit.
Sorry, my post was a bit vague. What I meant is something more like this: Suppose your infra bills are 10,000,000 a day. By having a 5% tech to NS ratio, you get a 10% discount in infra upkeep. That means you save 1 million a day, while 3/50 tech deals only net about 2.2mil every cycle. At that point, selling tech does not generate a profit because you will have lost 20million in potential upkeep savings during the 20 days in exchange for a mere 2mil in profit. Alternatively, if you have enough citizens, the happiness bonus from having 1000 tech and the appropriate wonders could be worth more than the profit of selling tech.
24. The Conclave is on the smaller side, but we're growing fast. In fact, in the beginning of January, we only had 18 members, and right now we're at 49. This tremendous growth wasn't a coincidence - we're working hard and earning our success. We wouldn't be where we are today without our very dedicated and close-knit members. If you have any interest in learning more about us, I can be found on #theconclave as html.
