  1. To find purchased land amount go to World Statistics >> Nation Rankings >> Your team color >> Find your nation by searching through the pages(only way to see your nation ranking including the pruchased land figure, can't use the 'search' feature). The land amount is between the Strength and Infras column. It shows land purchased only.
  2. If you search your team stats it shows land purchased.
  3. Voted 'Good' on all counts. The tech cap being removed is my favorite part, I am no longer upset about the tech multiplier change before. Now there's a good reason for having that tech. The aircraft tech changes are good in my opinion as well. It spreads it out more, before anyone over about 15k strength had lvl 10 planes. I actually like the activity update, it's more realistic. I mean no country in the real world is going to let you raid it without fighting back at all(even France fought back a bit in WWII), why should we able to do it in CN? That's basically cheating, as the whole point of this game is building(not stealing) your nation and warring, and you're not doing either when you raid inactives. If you can raid an active nation and steal his money/tech/land and be able to keep it when he/she retaliates then good on you, you deserve it, but if they don't fight back there's no earning it, you're just a cheap tech/land/money thief.
  4. There are lots of people opposed to this, but there's no point in all of them coming here(if they all even know this topic exists) and saying the same thing as the few of us that do post against it here, especially when the few of us who actually are posting about it are getting bad mouthed and called idiots, sore losers, 'not real game players', whiners, etc. Most of us do in fact agree with the need to reduce tech NS value, but feel that a 75% reduction without any kind of warning at all is going overboard a bit. This is the single biggest change to the game since I started playing 500+ days ago, and we were completely blindsided by it as there was no warning. Yes there was a poll about it in the Suggestion forum, but the poll was against the idea by like 70-80%, so nobody thought it would come to be, or at the very least figured admin would have given a warning to pre-empt all this 'whining' and 'idiocy' by those of us who disagree with it. Unlike some members here who just shout 'HAIL ADMIN!' and berrate anyone who critique's the new change with very mature dialogue calling us sore losers, idiots or whiners, some us feel we have the right to critique any change, regardless of whether our criticism makes any difference. Sorry for wanting to discuss and give our opinions on such a major change to the game, we'll try to leave our brains out of CN from now on, clearly it's frowned upon to think for ourselves if it goes against admin and his mindless worshippers. I have supported every change to the game made thus far, but the first time I speak against a change that I feel was too extreme(I do not disagree completely, reduction was neccessary) I am an idiot and a whiner and a sore loser who doesn't know how to truely play the game.
  5. I understand that is your opinion, and you have every right to play the game as you see fit, just as I and others who play for ranking and NS have the right to do so. I wasn't so much directing my comments in that regard at you yourself, I'm just sick of all the people(there have been many) who say we aren't playing the game properly if we value NS and rank so much, which makes absolutely zero sense as we are playing the game based on a gameplay feature. How can you not play the game 'properly' when playing it by using a feature that is part of the damn game? Apparently using the features included in the game means we aren't playing the game properly... I still maintain, as I have from the begginning of this whole episode that a change to the tech calculation formula was needed, tech was over-valued when it came to NS, but I think a 75% decrease is too much. 40%-50% would have been fine, but 75% is overdoing it a bit. It does create more unbalance than before, as now NS basically means nothing, as you can gain a ton of it in a minute with military buildup and lose it just as quickly. And people say that represents the strength of a nation better than over-valued tech? Standing military does not equal strength, the ability to field a large military when called upon is what true strength is. To have standing military influence NS in such a major way without anything to balance it is rediculous. North Korea has a massive military system, but could it fight worth a damn? Highly unlikely given the fact it's technology is so bloody outdated. If technology didn't matter the DPRK would be ruling the world right now, along with Iran and China, since they have the largest militaries on earth. Technology does play a massive role in real world nation strength, so why make the game less realistic by making tech less NS valuable? I thought the point of this game was to be realistic, but dropping tech NS value by 75% isn't realistic.
  6. I have never said my nation was better or worse than anyone elses, I have always fully admitted my nation was 'tech heavy'(though I haven't had any trouble defeating any opponents as of lately, even if they have been more infra heavy, most just suck at war strategy). But in rankings my nation was 'better' than most, now 200+ more people are 'better' than me even though nothing in my nation itself has changed, but rather a formula was changed by admin. It wouldn't have been so bad had we had some prior warning, but dropping this on us without even a heads up was a poor play by admin, something so major deserved a warning. And anyone who says that 'if you only play for NS or rank you're not a real player' needs to shut the hell up, if NS and rank didn't matter they wouldn't even be part of the game. I'm sorry for using a game play feature, which apparently means I'm not really playing the game properly...stupid me.
  7. CN is still a game, and I play games to win. If NS didn't mean anything, it wouldn't exist. NS means everything in this game, hence why everything(you buy/gain) in this game contributes to NS. It's a simple logic, how anybody can not follow it is beyond me. @ the last line - I am currently 247 ranks behind where I was before. So no, I have not gone up I have gone down in rank. And that 'only 700 tech' equalled a 11.4k drop in NS. I have never played a game for the sake of playing a game(except maybe a few PS2 shooting games, which are good for relieving stress even if I don't win or even try to win), I play to win, or at least be among the top ranks. In this game a top rank to me is at least top 200, which as of now is pretty much impossible.
  8. I have never said it was 'worthless', I have said it was 'worth less'. It's still worth less than it was before, in NS value, which is what I personally base everything in this game off of, so to me it feels like we're being screwed. The price of tech needs to be re-evaluated. You're paying the same amount of money for 250 NS as you would for 1000 NS before, and this seems right to you? Maybe if the cap is removed it would be worth it, but I don't see how paying the same amount of money for 75% less NS is economically sound, when above 300 right now tech means practically nothing. If you have less than 300 tech it may be worth it, but anyone over 300 tech should seriously reconsider paying so much for it. And don't say NS means nothing, NS is the entire game, it's how the countries are ranked, everything you do in the game is NS related, everything you buy is NS, you're buying NS whether you buy tech, infra, land, military, etc. And now you're paying the same prices as before for 75% less NS when it comes to tech. If you went to a pizza shop one night and bought a pizza seperated into 4 slices for $7.50, and then went back the next day and discovered that it costs $7.50 for a single slice now instead of a whole pizza, wouldn't you feel that the pizza shop was ripping you off? I'm not saying tech prices should be dropped 75%, but there should be some reduction. I spent the last 500+ days buying tech at a certain price to gain NS, now the amount of NS I gain from that tech is reduced but the price remains the same. Is it hard to understand why I feel like I'm being screwed by this? Maybe have it so that once you reach the cap on tech(if it isn't removed completely) you should get a 20%-30% discount on tech prices to begin with, but the prices still increment with each purchase as normal. It's a very small discount, but it would make many of us feel much less 'screwed' by this update. [Edit] Saw this in another topic: I have not seen any change in my tech price. It still costs me 1.4 mil for 10 tech, as it has for the past few hundred days. I still feel the 75% reduction is BS. A reduction was needed, but 75% is rediculous. Now instead of being 'balanced' it's unbalanced in the opposite way.
  9. This is my problem with it. I've had people tell me that I should just sell my tech and buy infra with that money, but the highest anyone I can find is willing to pay for 50 tech is 3 mil. So I could sell 50 tech for 3 mil and drop 250 NS, and I could use that 3 mil to buy 27.6 infra, which would net me 82.8 NS. So if I did what these people have repeatedly suggested I would lose 167.2 NS for every such transaction I performed. [sarcasm]These people are brilliant. [/sarcasm] Some of us play this game for rank and NS, because without rank or NS it wouldn't be a game worth playing, it would just be a more graphical version of Nation StupidityStates. Games always have ranking, they always have winners, the purpose of a game is to compete against other players to see who's better at the game. Now there are other people who were below me in rank before that are now higher than me and are thus 'better' at the game than me, even though we both used perfectly legal methods of nation building. I just got passed in ranking by 3 people less than a 100 days old who were almost 10k NS below me prior to this, when I'm at 511 days old. They are better than me because Admin decided to change the formula's, not because they have any better skills at playing the game. That's what pisses me off. Bah, forget it. I'm sure I'll enjoy watching all these newb's passing me by every day. FYI - I have repeatedly stated I agree with tech being reduced, but reducing it by 75% while not lowering tech prices or doing anything to infra is BS. [Edit] Spelling.
  10. Are you retarded, read my damn post. My rank has dropped because of this. How does that not affect my nation?
  11. People who were just yesterday a few K NS lower than me are now above me, I've wasted 100's of millions on tech that is now worth 75% less for what I bought it to do(boost NS). I'm currently 500+ rankings back from where I was yesterday. Will we be refunded the millions we spent on tech for the express purpose of boosting NS? No we won't. So many of us have wasted 100's of millions of dollars that could have spent on infra instead because we chose to use a perfectly legal strategy in the game. Example(I know the numbers don't add, it's an example not an equation): I spend 100 million on tech to gain 10k strength. A different nation spends 100 million on infra to gain 10k strength. The tech multiplier changes so my 100 mil of tech now only gains me 2.5k strength, but the other dude who spent 100 mil on infra doesn't lose a single point of NS. My rank drops, his goes up(due to other techers dropping). I just got screwed because of a perfectly legal gameplay strategy, while he gains from it. Fair or not, it still pisses me off I'm being punished for doing nothing wrong.
  12. Once again, I agree with Circlewood. What did I do to deserve to be punished? Did I play this game too long? Donate too much money? Screw the admin's wife? No. I played the game 100% legally and got screwed for it. Well at least now we know for certain CN is realistic, honest people getting screwed for nothing, definitely realistic. Unfortunately that's what I play games to get away from, so naturally I'm a bit pissed.
  13. You seriously can't see the difference between a negative effect caused by a legal function of the game being used the way it's supposed to be used(nukes), and the game itself being changed in a way that makes my entire time playing CN piontless? Are you blind? I've spent my entire time in CN basing my growth on tech, now that tech is worth 75% less than it was yesterday and my nation is screwed. Meanwhile those who focused on Infra are barely touched by this retardation. And I've been nuked repeatedly myself, I can clearly see the difference between nukings and this BS. If you can't you need your eyes(or head) checked.
  14. Grade 12 Academic Mathemetics ~ 98% final average. I don't see what math skills have to do with anything. Yes, 75% is an exaggeration. But the point remains, for those 'techers' that are tech heavy our nations have lost more value than those nations with less tech. How is that fair?
  15. No, our strategies didn't 'change', changes can be made to a startegy without too much trouble, but they were just completely obliterated and now we're completely screwed. Essentially our nations are now worth 75% less than they were yesterday. Is it so hard to understand why we whine about this?
