I find the behaviour of Tetris to be shameful, the NSO goading to be utterly transparent, the NsO support ill advised and don't get me started on IAA, I can't work out what the hell's going on with them. In the time honoured "do something about it" CN way I've switched AA to The Legion and started fighting. Sometimes you just can't stand by.

[/quote] It's all based on goading. There are those that want this to escalate, they're pointing at stats now less than 24 hours into a war to show that Legion need help, that they're failing. It seems to me that it is not in Legion's interests or their allies for this to escalate. The number of declared wars, anarchies etc. mean nothing, just from simple maths it's clear that Legion can fight this war for a very long time with things exactly as they are even if (and some will say it's not an if) Legion make a complete pigs ear of fighting. They have no need for allies, they could go away for a week and barely notice what's going on. As such I'm prepared to bet 200 tech (100 with WC and 100 with Varianz) that NSO get someone else in before Legion do. I believe my analysis is sound, I'm not 1000 tech confident of it though.

I'm not sure about players who've been around a long time but after a year and a few days here I'm not looking for any game updates to keep me interested and I have no plans to delete my nation or let it die from inactivity. I'd say that I was lucky though, I got an message in my inbox in the first day or so of joining the game from Legion. I joined, I got game guides, a forum that's very active with threads about the game and not about the game. I got help setting up trades, I got tech deals I got to be as active or as inactive as I like. Say what you like about Legion but they're the reason I'm still in the game. I'm sure many other people could say similar things about their own alliance. I think if admin could do one thing to improve the retention of new players it would be a link in the sign up email to a page detailing the importance of alliances with links to forums, treaty web and history.

I have no idea what the political implications of this treaty are but the image is brilliant

The Legion leadership and the officers work hard, they care about the alliance and the members. The members care about each other, there's a strong sense of community that as Hymenbreach says means Legion can never die. The majority simply don't care about the OWF, not even a little bit. All of the threads here over the last few days mean little or nothing to them which is perhaps one of the greatest strengths Legion has. Edit: spelling
