[i]"...moving to more local news, President Anrad Gable has officially recognized the breakaway province of Krate as a nation. As you know, last week Governor Giason Dukes and a small group declared their independence of the Republic and demanded all Republic personnel and military out of their province. President Gable has all but pulled his forces out of Krate and signed over power to Giason Dukes, who is calling himself the Primarch[/i]
[b]The shot moves to an overaged, engorged looking politician, Anrad Gable.[/b]
[i]"Today we celebrate the founding of a new nation, one in which I hope time will heal its wounds and we may prosper together. As I am willing to overlook the crime of treason committed by Giason Dukes and Krate, so I invite its people to overlook our differences."[/i]
[b]Move scene to a small office where a single man, Giason Dukes, watches the newscast with a look of disdain on his lips. Another male stands besides him.[/b]
[i]"That fat slob! Look at him Ronald! He speaks of peace when he knows damned well we could have driven droves of his people against him."[/i]
[b]Giason slams his fist against the desktop splattered with paperwork, pens and other office equipment. the topmost dossier is one labeled CONFIDENTIAL, and has the markings of the Sparta Alliance upon it.[/b]
[i]"At any time I could have brought more the provinces with me. Bah. The fool. My people will soon see the evil of his way. They will understand why our Lord God chose ME to lead them into the next era. No longer will we wallow in filth. Together the people of Krate will know what it's like to live like me, to live like Kings."[/i]
[b]The second man, regarded to as Ronald speaks up...[/b]
[i]"Beg your pardon, sir, but if this is the case why do we need people like the Spartans?"[/i]
[b]Giason glances up from his desk rather dramatically...[/b]
[i]"Because, Ronald. They embody what we wish to become. These, Spartans, they are powerful. Their nations flourish. Their military is STRONG. Besides if it's not Sparta then it's the Orange Defense, the Polars. They've all sent diplomats. I've just chosen Sparta is all. They need the little people like us in order to survive. And we, Ronald, are at unfortunate time where we are the little people. We need them more than they need us. Patience you must have through this process and trust that I, your Primarch, understands what must be done."[/i]
