1. I never really though I'd see the day where the NPO was on the morally superior side of a war. Huh.
 2.
... Holy crap. Chris Kaos defending Pacifica. What the hell have you done to Planet Bob, Doomhouse?!
I'm not defending them, I'm merely condemning MK and company. Four years ago I'd be cheering MK on, but I'm rather indifferent toward the NPO these days. They've exhibited none of the same tendencies that they used to. MK, on the other hand, is doing precisely what the NPO used to do.
 3. This is the worst declaration I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty terrible ones. There's no love lost between the NPO and I, but this is pretty deplorable, even by the NPO's CB standards. Frankly, I have no problem with someone going to war for no reason at all, but at least have the balls to say that. If you're going to declare war because you feel like it, you should say so, instead of gussying it up like this and trying to make yourselves look good. The sad part about your supposed cassus belli is that what you accuse the NPO of doing, their imperialistic iron fisted ruling, is precisely what MK et al have been doing since Karma. Archon, you used to have more class than this, and you used to be a better sport. Tossing in a bunch of MS Paint images does not a LUEser make. Perhaps it's time to stop pretending and forget that you used to be a LUEser, since you have long since abandoned the ideals that they stood for.
 4.
Congratulations on the aniversary, GATO. Aside from making me feel older than dirt, this event makes me wonder how many are left that remember "CATO" becoming "GATO," the INC-GATO War (I think that's the right acronym) or even the Dove Doctrine and the Unity Covenant. (I remember discussing the UC being dropped with my fellow GPA members over on the alliance's very first boards.) Happy Birthday, guys. Well done.
I think there are two people in CN who still remember CATO and the CATO-INC War.

 6.
Thank you! All credit goes to wootmeister. I just told him what I wanted for an avatar and he delivered. Also, its random file name is "CKROX". I couldn't resist it once I saw that. Thanks for the support.
It's because you love me. And I don't know if this warrants a congrats or not, but I wish GATO and ODST the best.
 7. My history with the Dirty Filthy Communists, who have rebranded themselves today as The International, began many moons ago when they were under the auspicious name of the International Communist Party. They fought alongside GATO and the other members of the League with distinction in January of 2007. I maintained good relations with the ICP and their successors thereafter, until I left Planet Bob for a while. Of course, that’s not where the history ends for all our members. Many GAROans were in GATO at the time of the war against One Vision, and were there to witness the honourable selflessness of a small group of Communists who left the CPCN to join the fight alongside GATO. One of them, Azreal, has joined our ranks and has been a very vocal proponent of this treaty from our side of the pond. Another one of the volunteer commies, Cataduanes, has maintained excellent relations with our members throughout his time on Planet Bob. We’re pretty much in love with him in GARO, and this was our way of showing it and our love for all communists. Since we started the ball rolling on this, we’ve also made some other good friends who helped champion the treaty in INT. And so, with that bit of history lesson out of the way, we'd like to announce the damn thing, and add that GARO and INT expect this to be the start of a very long, very fruitful relationship between our two great alliances.
The Wheelchair Revolution Accords: A Mutually Defensive Pact Preamble In recognition of the camaraderie between the International and the Grand Association of Relics and Oldtimers——the latter coming from a far off time of forgotten battles and wars in the old days that were and other ramblings——we followers of the old school acknowledge the masters in a mutually defensive pact of fraternity, friendship, and other repetitive synonyms. (Please enjoy our letter f based but still child-friendly alliteration.) Article I: Non-Aggression Neither INT nor GARO will premeditate, declare, or prosecute war against the other signatory. Neither INT nor GARO will spy upon each other. Nor will either signatory encourage outside alliances to premeditate, declare, or prosecute a war against the other signatory. Article II: Communication and Intelligence Should either INT or GARO possess intelligence relevant to the other signatory, that information must be made available to the other signatory within forty-eight hours. Article III: Economic Integration INT and GARO express their support for economic cooperation between both alliances. INT will consider GARO a preferred tech partner and GARO will consider INT a preferred tech partner. Article IV: Mutual Defense Both INT and GARO will defend the other should either face unprovoked hostility by an outside alliance. It is understood that an attack on one signatory is an attack on both signatories, and that the defense must be undertaken to the fullest capabilities of both signatories. However, should obligations placed upon either signatory outside of these Accords require either signatory to enter a war between two third parties, in such cases the other signatory shall not be obligated to come to the former's defense. Article V: Cancellation The treaty shall be considered cancelled forty-eight hours after written notice of cancelation. Should either signatory breach Articles I or IV, these Accords may be immediately cancelled, with notice. Should either signatory attack a third party alliance with whom a treaty of the other signatory obligates defense, these Accords may be immediately cancelled, with notice. Signed for the International: The Congress of the International Signed for the Grand Association of Relics and Oldtimers: Kevlar, Secretary General Chris_Kaos, Deputy Secretary General Grenval, Secretary of Foreign Affairs
On a related note to that, per Article V of the protectorate we hold with the United Purple Nations, specifically the clause, “However, once an MDP, MDOAP, or MADP is passed, the protectorate is null and void,” we announce our departure from UPN’s umbrella of protection and thank them for it. We expect to continue to maintain good and pleasant relations with the people and nations of UPN.
 8. I was hoping this was a cult worshiping Vincent Xander.
 9. What do you think we CN's most seminal moment of the Great War era (May 2006 through May 2007)?
 10. I admire Kevlar, the Sasquatch. Edit: That actually started as a joke, but it's true. I've always thought Kevlar was among the most intelligent, driven people in CN, despite all his appearances and despite the fact that the only job I ever gave him while he was my deputy, he failed to do. Incidentally, that job probably could have turned out to be useful in the week following, when GWII broke out. Good job, Kev.

 12. Going to war for LUE in GWI is probably my favourite CN moment. Anomaly and I have stayed pretty close friends since then. Also, a more recent memory. DoEing GARO and having so many people with whom I never got along wishing us well.
 13. GARO sends its congratulations to the new government, as well as to our friend Yevgeni.
 14.
So basically you opted for at-least a paper victory before even that became uncertain.
First, it wasn't a paper victory. By the numbers, we most certainly won. But to continue fighting without ODN and Legion would have taxed us heavily, and fighting wars back then wasn't the same as now. You didn't have war chests or banks, and rebuilding was slow going. Even in the best case scenario, we all would have been set back months, and it's possible that instead of a decisive (though perhaps not total, complete curbstomp) victory, it would have turned into a bitter grudge match. I opted for the smarter path.
That's pretty much how it happened. Though I remember all kinds of $@!-whupping at the lower echelons. Course, those were the days when NPO had all the really biggest hitters near the top, so it was kind of a less intense version of Great War 2, instead a victory than a loss. Same lack of cohesion, same overwhelming forces, different results.
Not really how it happened at all, as I said. But you're right. Below the top 50 or so, we had the advantage, and below the top 100, we were just overwhelmingly more in favour. But unfortunately, so long as those big nations kept going, we were looking for a hard fight--Legion was our big hitter and while in those days you could attack anyone, beating down the top 10 would have been tough, even with the dent in them from fighting Legion. Anyway. That's my two cents since someone mentioned the GW. Though I'd give some historical perspective. No need to continue the debate, as I won't. Have fun with the current events debate.
 15.
TPF has been at war rather a lot of the past year. Also, NPO got stomped by the entirety of Planet Bob back in the dawn of time. Or so I keep on getting told.
*puts on my old man hat* I'll be straight up here. CoaLUEtion won, despite what my old foe Vladimir will say. If we kept going, we probably could have ZIed NPpO, but the cost would have been the near utter ruination of GATO, LUE, NAAC, GGA and CGS/CDS (ODN and Legion had dropped out already, meh). Probably. And that's if all those alliances stayed in. What also could have happened is this: NAAC, whose membership was pretty heavily split on the war by the time peace came around, leaves the war. GGA, knowing they weren't going to get their ridiculous reps, leave to lick their wounds. CDS would have bailed at this point as well, knowing it's a lost cause. Depending on how long the fighting lasted before those three bailed out, it could have turned out any way. Anyway. Wasn't a stomping like alliances get these days, is all I'm saying.
 16. I am Chris_Kaos, and I approve this message.
 17. I remember a time when it was neither convenient nor popular, but GATO decided to honour its treaty with an ally who had been found guilty in the court of public opinion by such leaps and bounds that it earned the ire of admin himself. The declaration of war was short and to the point, but it began, "The Global Alliance and Treaty Organization honours its treaties." I realize that that GATO is long since dead and turned to ashes, but I believed that the spirit of the once mighty Global Alliance survived. I fear I may have been wrong, for this action by GATO is such a great miscarriage of morality, and a perversion of everything the words "Strength in Unity, Honour in Justice" stand for that it may indeed be irreparable. I realize that internally, not everyone agreed with this decision, and I'm sure many will be waking up today to this news and be greatly angered by it. That is where GATO's future hope lays--in its membership, and the democratic process. I have some measure of faith that the General Assembly of the Global Alliance will elect leaders with greater strength of character and moral fortitude in the future so that it may again regain some of its lost dignity and integrity. Godspeed, GATO, for you will need it after this disaster.
 18. Whether or not this war is justified, I find it admirable of the NSO to prevent the escalation of war.
 19.
This is about the point at which the jabs back and forth stop and discussion of the actual topic resumes.
I'm gonna bring in the three year old defense here. He started it!
 20.
Right, please let something prevent me from reminding the world how much you suck at playing this game. I know that's what you're praying for.
Sorry, Musso, I can't hear you over the sound of your own irrelevancy.
 21.
I was not in any Gov position but I do remember Chris coming to the General assembly with a definite bias towards dropping LUE because of the Lueicide that was posted that caused Tyga to Nuke Duffman. The General Assembly felt the lueicide was terrible but did not want to hold LUE accountable for what an Ex-lue member did and voted or at least backed LUE as our ally which I believe or believed then and still do infuenced CK to go ahead and back LUE. Then the nukes flew which I think tied his hands and forced GATO to come in on LUE's side. So Vlad, Please STFU! To hear your whining once once again only makes me........... I won't finish that sentence as I have had way too much to drink tonight.
Despite, or in spite of, your drunken ramblings, I greatly appreciate the support from someone who was both in the GA at the time, and never one of my "inner circle," which means that either you hate the NPO that much, or you're speaking the truth.
 22.
Could you please share the logs where you express disgust at LUE's actions (along with some random ODNers)? Could you also show us the logs of how you wrecked your side's chances at defeating the NPO conclusively? That's history too!
Rabble rabble.
My favourite part of the war was Chris Kaos' excellent management of the peace talks that ended with the CoaLUEtion getting everything they wanted. Good times.
I love people who don't know what they're talking about.
