  1. Recovery efforts in the aftermath of the Commonwealth-Laurentienne war have progressed well and the areas of Acadia located along the St. Lawrence have greatly recovered with concentrated reconstruction efforts and assistance from the federal government. Leslie Strauser, the governor of Acadia, has praised President Marston and the federal government for its swift and decisive action in evacuating areas at risk before the outbreak of hostilities and its successful efforts at rebuilding the areas devastated by the fighting. As the rubble was swept, stacked, cleared and hauled away a sense of normalcy would begin to return to the Commonwealth residents along the border.
  2. American Commonwealth Military Almanac Land Forces *Total numbers of front line and combat personnel have been reduced from a wartime high of some 1 million troops to some 833,400 personnel constituting 50 divisions, 19 independent brigades and various other commands. Naval Power *Additional naval vessels have been produced or reactivated to add bring the total number of combat vessels to 212. The most notable additions are the 23 Barracuda class submarines and 10 Littoral Combat Ships. Escort vessels have been increased by 31 while adding another amphibious assault ship. Air Power *The total number of combat aircraft operated by the various services has been increased to 4560 aircraft across 380 combat squadrons.
  3. Wow, its been a while since the last lock. Locking my nation since I'm going camping this weekend so I won't be back till sunday/monday.
  4. In the aftermath of the Canadian Conflict, the Armed Forces of the American Commonwealth has ordered a thorough review of its performance in the war, issues that appeared, and recommendations to improve its capabilities. In the meantime deployments of Commonwealth troops around the continent were ongoing. Troop strength along the border with the Laurentienne Union were drawn down to 200,000 in order to provide an ease to post war tensions and fears of excessive border military activity. Another 200,000 were stationed in Canada in the west but were mostly spread out maintaining order and providing aid and assistance in the protectorate. Some 400,000 troops were maintaining order in Mexico while the, roughly, remaining 200,000 troops would revert to peacetime duties at their various bases around the country.
  5. Rejection of the loans as part of the financial aid offered to the Laurentienne government was unexpected, although their paranoia should have been, considering they only came with one condition and it was doubtful that the $100 billion offered otherwise would be enough to considerably rebuild the Laurentienne economy. Another offer would be extended including a guaranteed 10 year grace period on full repayment of the loans, again with the sole condition that they could not be used for defense related spending. In the meantime an official request would be made as to the condition of Arnault-Delareux and the issue of when she would be turned over to the Commonwealth, as the last remaining member, and leader, of the coup that had lead to the war she was not forgotten about and her transfer was a matter of importance to the Commonwealth as it was one of the fundamental issues agreed upon by the peace treaty.
  6. Of all the major sports in the active Commonwealth soccer wasn't the most popular, but it still had a very strong following. The American response to the creation of an international level soccer league was mostly non-governmental in nature, with domestic leagues coming together to determine the process of selecting players from across the nation to compete for the national team. Most of the funding would be from private sources, ads and endorsements with little input from the government, although some assistance would be rendered in terms of speeding up passport processing and other miscellaneous things that would make the American team run more smoothly.
  7. I mean, I like the idea, so long as its voluntary anyway, but what about someone like me who is not really that knowledgeable in these types of matters? I've never taken a formal class on economics nor read up on the subject that much. I mean, people already complain enough about having to research and deal with the military stuff but I can tolerate that because thats something I actually enjoy to an extent.
  8. I have no doubt that the American Commonwealth dominates the global market of tv shows about teen moms and the "Real Housewives of _____".
  9. Peace Today the Senate has ratified the American Commonwealth-Laurentienne Union Treaty of Peace "ushering in a new era of peace and stability" as stated by President Marston. In addition to this, Congress has passed the American Reconstruction Act, providing large amounts of funding and resources towards rebuilding the damage done during the war. This includes measures to assist the Laurentienne Union with recovery from the war as well with $100 billion in direct funds, aid and services, along with an additional $400 billion in subsidized low interest loans; with the only stipulation being that the funds may not be used for military related spending. Commonwealth citizens will also be provided with some $300 billion in direct aid and assistance or low interest loans. Provisions in the bill also include extra funding for the administration of the new Mexican/Central American protectorate.
  10. Dear god... Tywin. Just stop. Please just stop. Nobody wants to revert to the convoluted, overly complicated and unnecessary system that you're proposing.
  11. No, I'm referring to the 20 ISDs and you using FOUR Executor SSDs.
  12. So ummm... I would venture and say that this far exceeds the "reasonable" amount of ships we're expected to abide by.
  13. The news of the Emperor's death had thrown the galaxy into chaos. The galactic stability that had been established since the end of the Clone Wars had been shattered after the Rebel Alliance's victory in the Battle of Endor. Like many revolutionary movements, the result of the overthrow of the previous order merely resulted in chaos. During the reign of the Empire, much of the Outer Rim was considered a backwater area that was generally ignored for the most part, but still firmly under the grip of the Empire. The moffs of the various Outer Rim Sectors were in charge of general governance of their assigned sectors, military affairs as well as generally ensuring that the Emperor's will was carried out. Many were shocked with the news of his death. Many were paralyzed by indecision and facing the prospects of an uncertain future. Moff Drey Sol was not one of those men. In charge of the Arkanis Sector, coming from a very prominent and influential family in Anaxes, he had been placed in charge of one of the more critical parts of the Outer Rim. The Arkanis System itself was a very prosperous world, lying on the lucrative Corellian Run trade route and Geonosis was a one of the largest major manufacturing and industrial centers in the Galaxy, as well as modest starship construction facilities. Moff Sol's governance of the region was generally light handed compared to many other moffs. While loyal to the Empire, Drey Sol disliked many of the overly cruel actions taken by the Empire to maintain order. It was his family's influence and loyalty to the Empire that had secured his position rather than his personal loyalty to the Emperor. Regardless, he managed to quickly establish himself as an effective and able administrator, cementing his position. Never resorting to heavy handed tactics when they could be avoided, Moff Sol established a working relationships with the various planetary governors and governments. He also became acquainted with fellow Moffs in the neighboring sectors. In the aftermath of the Emperor's death, Moff Sol moved quickly to maintain order in the Arkanis Sector. The military forces at his command were considerable and in line with his posting and responsibilities. Fourive Imperial class Star Destroyers constituted the core of the military power at his command. This was supplemented by an Interdictor class SD, a dozen Acclamator Assault Ships, two dozen Carrack class cruisers, and some forty Tartan patrol cruisers. This was supplemented on the ground by a garrison of over one million Imperial Army troops and heavy mechanized support spread across several planets along with several stormtrooper legions that now fell into his direct command in the absence of the Emperor. Despite this impressive display of military strength, Moff Sol knew that it would be impossible for him to maintain long term power through rule of force now that he would be cut off from any Imperial reinforcements or support. Instead, delegates from the planets under his command would be invited to discuss the situation as a whole. During this meeting Moff Sol would stress the need for calm and order as the rest of the Galaxy slowly crumbled into a state of anarchy and the need for a strong leader in the trying times ahead. As a result of the meeting it was decided to establish a federation of the various planets and systems to maintain a working government and Drey Sol was elected to be its first Chancellor. Using this new found success, Drey Sol would invite other nearby Moffs that he had befriended and acquainted himself with to be a part of his new system. Awaiting their replies, the first one back was the most surprising. Moff Elek Noscandra was in charge of the Kamino system and Sol knew him as a more quiet and reserved individual. No doubt this was due to him being in charge of one of the Empire's most sensitive and secretive worlds. Moff Noscandra would arrive at Arkanis to discuss the proposal that had been delivered to him. The revelations given at the meeting were a shock to, now, Chancellor Sol. Under the Emperor's direction, Moff Noscandra had been utilizing and perfecting Kaminoan cloning technology to secretly raise a new army for the Emperor. Utilizing an improved pallet of the genetic material used during the Clone Wars, he had managed to further refine the Kaminoan cloning technology as well as cut the time needed to grow a clone in half, down to five years; and during the last five years he had been putting that technology to use. A clone army was being raised to further supplement the Empire's forces and was finally in the stages of awaiting deployment when the Emperor was killed. In the last year, they had all been reprogrammed to erase their loyalty to the Emperor after his demise and were now potentially loyal to someone else who would take them. In addition to this, Moff Noscandra revealed to the Chancellor that the Hypori system, long thought to be uninhabited, had been secretly turned into a major production, manufacturing and military logistics hub. Hundreds of thousands of clone troopers were garrisoned on Hypori awaiting their orders while extensive planetary and orbital shipyards were able to service and build even the largest Imperial class Star Destroyers and, while nowhere near as large as the Kuat space yards, were still impressive nonetheless. Noscandra relayed the Emperor's intent to use these facilities to maintain an overwhelming hold on the entire Outer Rim Sector and Bothan Space as well as preparing for something else that was never revealed to him. An opportunity like this was too much to pass up. These facilities and the army that came with them would guarantee the security of the fledgling Federation for decades to come. Moff Noscandra also brought with him six Imperial Star Destroyers and many dozens of other combat and auxiliary vessels. Elek Noscandra was appointed as the governor of the Kamino System and Vice Chancellor of the Outer Rim Federation as the new army was readied to protect it.
  14. http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/122684-outer-rim-federation/ Outer Rim Federation The Kamino, Geonosis, Hypori and Arkanis Systems.
  15. With the Galactic Order falling apart not so long after the battle of Yavin, the Kamino, Geonosis, Hypori, and Arkanis systems have unilaterally withdrawn from the Empire to form the Outer Rim Federation.
  16. Taking the pen, President Marston affixed his signature to the document. A few moments would be spared for photographs of the two leaders and the peace treaty. Afterwards Marston would start up a private conversation with the prime minister. "It is my sincere hope that we have just established a lasting peace between our countries. In taking the first steps towards that goal the American Commonwealth will assist the Laurentienne Union with rebuilding efforts and financial assistance".
  17. Listen to the resident spacemonger :P
  18. The Prime Minister would be greeted at the airport by an arrival delegation and a lot of extra security. The motorcade would proceed from the airport to the White House along a secured route, and the DC Metropolitan Police was out in force providing route security the whole way. The roads would be lined with crowds of people. Some were protesters against or for the war, but most were happy that peace was finally on its way. Pulling up to the front of the White House, Prime Minister Hamelin would be greeted by President Marston himself in addition to a ceremonial military band and color guard. Once inside they would proceed to a conference room where the peace document awaited their signatures.
  19. Confirmed. Eva gets Ontario and Manitoba. The rest of Canada is part of the AC protectorate.
  20. You know what they say about big feet right? Big socks. :P
  21. This may be in the "Fantasy" RP category but any military technologies used here have to be grounded in reality. Even triyun's fighters have a basis in real life, as do the rest of our military technology. I have never seen anything indicating that what you're proposing is viable for military application, especially on such a large scale. If so we'd see the Russians and Chinese scrambling to get this shit. Theres no way in hell that a "shoebox sized" satellite is going to fit a doppler radar, the communications equipment necessary to allow real time dissemination of the information its gathering, PLUS a viable power source to keep functioning. I also seriously doubt that a radar adapted from a hand held police radar gun is going to have a range of anywhere near 22,500 miles. And this is all coming from a nation that is at around 2006 on the tech scale. And as far as I know at no point in the present day, let alone 2006, is there even a concept idea for what you've proposed.
  22. Let the deluge of penis shaped continents rising from the pacific ocean begin! :P
  23. I thought that the main difference between LPDs and LSDs was that LPDs transported more troops and stuff for the actual assault while the LSDs are geared more towards carrying cargo, heavy equipment and landing craft?
  24. I was told many times that things like LPDs and LSDs took up amphib slots.
