  1. Which was fine, the understanding we had was that we always intended to put things on the table during the peace conference. While it happened earlier than we expected and slightly altered (we intended to provide them during, not immediately preceding, but that was whatever). Yeah, I imagine they were. That wasn't my department and is something Oculus will have to reconcile. That's great, and as I said, it fits mine too. As someone who was not only there, but a primary voice in the negotiations, the Oculus draw back was at the request of Polar to avoid immediate escalation. Negotiations had a time limit that I set specifically allowing for Pacifica and IRON to catch staggers as necessary if time ran out (which it technically did, but we still hammered something out). Had negotiations outright failed, Pacifica and IRON would have snapped right back on at any time. I'm not sure why this "truth" you think came out dictated Pacifica and IRON's response, they weren't even particularly fond of the idea of drawing back.
  2. I understand the point he was making, I also noticed his example of when CLAWS declared on TIE being justified, but also acknowledging that their allies needed to be told to stand down. Now imagine this scenario where we have every belief that the strategy would be to deny everything. Was NG and COBRA going to tell their allies to stand down? I doubt it, so why cater to a reality that isn't going to happen? I don't know where I implied that wasn't the case. Again, it was always going to be a waste of time arguing about it in a DoW thread. Kapleo himself can attest that, post peace accord, we had a conversation wherein I laid out my perspective. As I recall without looking (or log dumping), he didn't agree with our action (as was expected), but I believe he understood my position. It wouldn't have changed any of the actions taken if we had had it the day before the war, the day after, or never.
  3. If your position is that we didn't provide the logs at the start because we knew the CB was weak, then why would we present them to argue? If our position is that your side would deny everything anyway if we provided the logs at the start, then why would we present them to argue? There wasn't a scenario where it mattered in either narrative, and of course the favoring of narratives will for the most part be down partisan lines.
  4. Polar's position on the CB was what it was, it didn't and doesn't change any stances on our side regarding the CB. We can argue about it until the lights go out, however focus has shifted to the future.
  5. The summit was called to meet at the behest of the Polar-Legion tie, and the success of it was owed due in large part to the fact that the majority of it was organized and cordial. We all agreed to disagree on the merits of the war at the Polar representative's urging, because it was at that point irrelevant. The goal of the war was never to "exterminate NG" and as such, the positive dialog in the summit has presented both sides with alternative options more befitting the geopolitics of the day. Hopefully those options are taken. Again, that's also not what the war was about. We weren't out looking for convenient reasons to declare a war on COBRA when the majority of the content pointed to NG. Would it have been a successful political gambit to try and divide your side? Possibly, but not our aim.
  6. Because that's not what happened. We had what we had and saw cause enough for conflict, what does it matter or not if we argued about it with folks that would never be convinced during the war?
  7. As was stated (and demonstrated) within the peace summit as well as several DM's, there was no point in presenting or litigating the logs publicly. Literally neither side will ever agree they committed wrongdoing regardless if they have or not, and the two sides that generally be at the moment make up the vast majority of the posters on this forum. There's no real middle ground to convince, so why commit to an argument that will never resolve in a satisfactory way? Everyone thinks they're the hero of the story. Folks are free to DM me for details I have, the 'no logs until a peace conference' stipulation our coalition set has was obviously met and thus my embargo on talking about it has as well.
  8. No no no, you don't understand, not a crate, a basket. You guys can even use the phrase "basket of deplorables", it checks out.
  9. But I was told I'd get candy in my basket too!
  10. Two reasons. 1) They posted the DoW. 2) They had a nation in my range.
  11. [This is where a flag would go, IF I HAD ONE] During January 23, 2021’s reset, The Phoenix Federation, along with Kashmir, Haven, The Lords Cavalry, and Ordo Cyberneticus declared war against CLAWS, an alliance member of our defensive bloc, Roll For Initiative. After about twenty minutes of waiting, the offending coalition has failed to provide any valid reason or any compelling evidence to justify this conflict not including Argent despite assurances that it would, prompting Argent to treat this as a cowardly and opportunistic counter offensive. Regardless of whatever reason they may have, we find it hard to justify just under 100 nations invading our ally’s 125 nations, but not ours, not to mention not invading Global Alliance And Treaty Organization. As a consequence of this war and the consistent pattern of targeted counter offensives which has preceded it, the singular force of Argent hereby declares a state of war against The Phoenix Federation in defense of CLAWS. Good luck, have fun. Signed for Argent: Lowsten, The Great and Powerful Emperor
  12. Let you know the transgressions? Non Grata and COBRA working on diplomatic and geopolitical schemes hostile to my allies. If you want logs, I'm afraid for the time being you're better off asking Stewie. You See What I Want You To See. Believe the Lie.
  13. Local man quotes self instead of hitting 'edit'.
  14. This is true, and in this case I was letting Lyanna and Stewie know their assertions were based incorrectly.
  15. The Truth Is Out There.
  16. The reference to wars from when NG was in Oculus wasn't a statement on the reasoning for this war, but acknowledging NG had no issues in the past with Oculus not posting the compromising intel they alleged to have in a DoW. That said, Caustic appears to have gone on the record as saying that there was never even actual evidence for those wars, so perhaps the comparison was indeed a poor one.
  17. I was referring to why it is a non-issue to find four DoW's from wars past, no combing necessary.
  18. The wiki features a list of major wars.
  19. I had considered selling infra so we could tango again. It was a fun last time despite my inability to remember to run attacks in the right order every time.
  20. Four minutes late Bundy.
  21. I'm honored by the honorary membership from my friends in GATO. If I had been given some forewarning that this post was coming I might have even prepared a statement! Happy anniversary GATO! To fifteen more years!
  22. As someone who doesn't really care about the development, I think the point isn't that it's being employed, but that it's being employed as a tit for tat measure. CLAWS imposed it on Lucius so now COBRA is trying to impose it on KND (who COBRA view as intrinsically linked to CLAWS), not because they think it's a good or acceptable to do, but simply as an attempt to fire across the bow of CLAWS. Who knows, maybe COBRA will embrace it and make it a standard practice on all their engagements, but I doubt it.
  23. If you think that was some form of diss, and that it would have gotten anything other than mocked by hartfw, I can pretty confidently say you didn't know him very well.
  24. Are you just upset that KNB would pick you for their trial by combat as one of their only supporters, and that would make you have to tell everyone again about how optional your obligations are?
