1. With the recent disbandment of long-standing alliance GOONS, I'm sure more people than just myself began looking at our world in a truly cynical light. We have a very short list of alliances that contain more than 100 members. A quick glance at the alliance listing might shock a few of you older players that might not have been watching too closely to the decline of our world. I'm here to discuss the light left in this world, not speculate or complain about its eventual end. There are 355 alliances on the listing as of this post. Could you list more than 20 alliances that you would consider active participants in our world off the top of your head? I probably couldn't. My point here is that while noble efforts are being made by a handful of people in a multitude of alliances to keep their AA alive and viable for the next global war, perhaps it's time for a cultural perspective change. Your inactive alliance may have once been great, and it will always provide for great feeling of nostalgia but for our world to continue to thrive and hopefully create a feeling of nostalgia for a new generation of rulers, we need to learn to recognize when to call it quits. Rather than try to breathe life back into a dead alliance, disband or resign from the alliance as individuals. Join an active alliance and let your old friends who only log in to collect taxes every twenty days continue to do so on a dead AA. We have so many groups that are barely breathing and disbandment is seen as a last resort after every other option is exhausted, and sometimes it isn't ever seen as an option. People would rather camp a dead AA rather than move and continue playing the political game. I hope this post at least sparks some conversation within a few inactive AA's in the hopes that the active players may better contribute to a wider world.
2. If only our world was more open to progressive things like wars with people who are too small to hit or limiting us to three slots to fill. If only admin had given us more slots...
3. Please don't accept anything less, or more, than what you've demanded. It would be such a shame to end the entertainment with a compromise.
4. This newest development calls for your immediate attention. Peace out of your current war efforts and rush to Pansy's aid ASAP.
5. Why is anyone concerned with the morality of sanctions?? Are we going to complain about using nukes as a first strike weapon now? I know this is the OWF and I shouldn't expect more, but I kind of do. Especially from people like Dajobo.
6. Every war since Karma with the exception of eQ and Disorder has seen NpO as either the main target or included in the core group. eQ arguably was the only war where Polaris wasn't a target. Disorder, before it ever became a war, was the direct result of many alliances actively plotting to roll Polar while ignoring the Hegemony. Polaris finally was presented with an opportunity to not be on the receiving end of a curbstomp and signed with TOP. Unfortunately for themselves, they failed or refused to maintain that vital tie and now the old Doomsphere alliances are safely on NPO's leash. I often wonder how differently the world would be if we had united again after eQ to grind the supernations of the old doomsphere back into normal range instead of trying to roll Polaris for no perceivable reason (again).
7. This reminds me of old CN drama and I like it.
8. He's been obsessed with NPO since his return, he was cast out for awhile, and wormed his way under the fringes of their colossal shadow. I want to disagree that there isn't a drive for success in Polaris, but you are in said alliance and I am not so I won't really argue that point. I will support your statement that rolling Polar (again) for no reason is one of the most boring ideas that anyone has ever come up with. Any person, moralist or realpolitik, can see that Pacifica&friends have made some terrible mistake. Morally, even if you wanted to try and use the Disorder War as reason to roll Polar (and TOP?), you cannot seriously look at people like DBDC, Umbrella, and the other ex-Doomhouse people and say that they have paid their dues? Have you, NPO, so quickly forgotten how many curbstomps you suffered at the hands of these people? Even using the argument of realpolitik and "we made a new hegemony" etc only goes so far until you realize that the only real threats to your power are your direct allies or one chain away. Not to mention how fucking boring it is to continuously roll the same, unchanged group of people for 5th or 6th time now?
9. The [s]king[/s] smontag is dead, long live the new [s]king[/s] smontag!
10. I think it's been established that once an alliance starts to shrink far enough that most normal sized alliances don't have enough nations to keep these "freedom fighters" engaged so more alliances actually have to come in to keep the targets at war. Monster's Inc is choosing to fight a war of attrition, not NSO or Kashmir. They are beat, they just need to surrender.
11. It's weird to see the NSO posters being the most civil people in this thread.
12. I feel like LordofDarkness is going to sue for copyright infringement here.
13. After over a year of on/off talks, revision, and much dedication, I am proud to announce that the White team has come together in our own selfish interests to provide a beautifully worded economic agreement which will benefit the sphere for (hopefully) years to come!
14. It's always interesting to watch these kind of strategies at work. Fighting until the last pixel is interesting in concept, but how many members will dessert or otherwise lose interest in nations where they've had months/years of work destroyed? Activity is the life-blood of any alliance or grouping, it's sad to see idealists fall on their own swords so often.
15. This is hilarious only because SNX is so inept as to not think this would be received the way it's being received.
16. Maybe not as antagonistic as I expected but still a welcome sight to see new alliances.
17. I was under the impression that all angry/old CNers came to NSO. Why is this even a question? :P
