2.
My post was a direct response to the above post, which clearly said no matter what we do, it won't satisfy you. I then only said that playing the poor hated victim (which to me this sounds like) doesn't work because MHA doesn't really fit into the category. As I said, if a discussion regarding the treaty is not desired, it sounds weak to rationalize this by saying you won't discuss it because people would just hate you anyways. I did not discuss the treaty details, nor did I refer to them, since caligula already pulled a MPK by saying that only your interpretation has any merit. Since no one else then can have a opinion about this public document, attempts to discuss the details are futile, not to mention that the only argument of interest in the greater context of this thread is the end of this treaty, not the details on how you are or are not completely sovereign (my argument would be that any mandatory defense treaty takes away some sovereignty as price for protection, the situation here likely is no different).
Fair enough. (See? Satisfied! ) Frankly, I consider Accords to take away a lot of sovereignty, alas, not enough But what do I know, I wasn't here 3 years ago, so I can apparently join all non Harmlins in the You Can't Read The Public Document and Are Incapable of Understanding it (or - NAMBLA), eh Haflinger? ;-) If I said we've made a bad argument, would you hold it against me? Seriously though, Accords are as you might imagine a touchy subject for us, considering our stance to this part of conflict, and it makes us a bit jumpy Let's set a safeword - if we get too defensive about Accords - you say MPK, and we'll take the gimp mask off. -what? I'm the only one wearing a gimp mask? Damn, do I feel silly now... edit: frankly frankly too many "frankly".
 3.
Lol, looks someone is looking to get a persecution complex Sorry to disappoint, but I don't think MHA will make it to list of "poor people hated by all for no other reason than their very existance" anytime soon. People here are making very concrete points, trying to paint this as general resentment against your alliance is a rather poor attempt to not wanting to discuss their points, no matter if they have merit or not.
I'm pretty sure that Myth's post was made in wider context, and admittedly makes little sense for people not knowing what we have at mind (which seems to be main curse of all us Harmlins ;-) ). As to the Harmlin accords thingie - admittedly, it was not written to elaborate rescinding/keeping of sovereignty, but rather to make us as close as possible, while adding some failsafe additions. Parts III and IV can be interpreted as losing sovereignty, while part V mentions precise policies and situations that show we do not lose it. I think we can agree to disagree here, as I can hardly see any arguments made by either side that would appease disputants (unless someone can prove me wrong, then please do, for I am bored (ooc:flu ).
It is funny to see all the new blood in MHA arguing about the meaning of Härmlins.
Caligula aka IYIyTH's joined MHA at Thu Jun 26, 2008, and he's held numerous high tier gov positions. I wouldn't call him new blood.
Actually are any of the signatories left on Planet Bob besides Janova and John Rocker? Sigh. When they left, they should have taken their treaty with them.
Count Rupert is still an active hitch hiker, and very crucial for MHA's well being at that, as he's our team senator, government advisor, and whenever he makes an appearance people need to wear shades - not even not to get blinded by his glow of pure awesomeness, but just as a minor improvement. Stuff' is just better with CR around. Shamshir rejoined MHA as well, alas under different nation, as Kyralia faded into oblivion, when he was on his Animal Spirit Quest (ooc: rl thingies). Thankfully, that does not stop him from being one of more active members. WCR left only recently, though he still pops in from time to time.

 10.
Look. Penkala was in CSN. He insulted NSO. Arguments were had. Dopp (Corinian) countered with a challenge to CSN because Penkala wasn't in range and he had a beef to settle with CSN because they said that our military was lackluster. RoK takes up on the offer because CSN doesn't allow duels. Somewhere in this, Penkala leaves CSN and goes to NSO. Next time, get your facts straight before making such a dense comment. Or just ask. Or don't say anything.
See, the thing is I got my facts straight, and they point toward a smear campaign as well. This "somewhere in this" was actually the very beginning of entire show. OP: 06 May 2010 - 03:10 AM First news in this thread of Penkala joining NSO: 06 May 2010 - 06:25 AM The absurdity of this whole situation is staggering. He was the one making fun of your military, and as soon as the gauntlet dropped on the ground - he was with you. So did this great beef and offence came up in his interview? As to the rest of CSN arguing about your military prowess - well that's how it works - people from one alliance back one eachother. However, only one ruler was actually aggressively condescending in mentioned thread, and he is now a Sith. The rest was presenting the general Gloria Victoribus line. Which, I'd think, would be close to any truly Sith heart
 11. So... I've read 10 pages, and still have no idea as to why in the name of Admin, and everything that is sanctioned - would CSN be obliged to duel for words of NSO member about NSO? If NSO allowes duels - well is there something in the way, that makes duel between Corinan and Penkala impossible? And why on earth any other alliance would be entangled in this? It's now your internal matter. As smear campaigns go, this seem a bit unsuccessful.

You do it in serious and in less serious ways, all the same nonetheless.
I make very clear statements over, and over. I shall make it once again. OWF is not recognized as a proper diplomatic channel by MHA, it is a diplomatic tool which has it's uses, but which are limited. Whenever an alliance wishes to consult us on our policy and plans, whether it involves starting - or ending a war (ie peace talks), they should do this by contacting our government either via embassies that we maintain, or in private IRC query. Heh, imagine if I went on the streets and start approaching random women, or maybe just the ones who I exchange glances with, to inform them, that I, in fact will not be interested in sexual intercourse with them. Or maybe to save time, I'd announce it on the bus? It is not the way, nor place to do this. A glance is a glance. If she was interested, we would be having a conversation first - at very least.
Also, I advised the commanders of my anti-air-defense-network to treat this dove as a hostile drone.
To be fair, the message was set to self-destruct after you've read it, so it's not like he'd be getting back.

You are from alliance who is already in this conflict. Our answer cannot change if you are, or not involved. Or will it? Heh, OK I'll do this this once, DAWN has MHA's blessing. DAWN can declare a war on Gramlins Can we go now? So now, alliance that has no interest in declaring war on Gramlins has MHA's blessing. Given by a deputy minister of Bad Poetry. Do you see how silly this is? Irrelevant people getting irrelevant answers on irrelevant subjects from irrelevant people.
This made me curious, it seems your argumentation for why you do not want to make a public state is that you don't want to stop giving people ammunition for a smear campaign (...) So you want to be smeared by people, and you want to make sure your position stays unclear. Good, exactly what I said in my above post, except the masochistic part
The fact that we don't treat people in this Place [ooc: Hyde Park] as government officials, does not mean we will start throwing them off their soap boxes. You have all rights to voice your opinions. But if you're into getting a diplomatic discourse with us, and some binding answers - this is not the place to do so. Smear campaign? Meh, haters gonna hate. We don't really care one way or the other, you[sup]*[/sup] can throw all the dung you like - it is your hands that are getting dirty. And I doubt any of it will stick, as only the ones throwing it are under the illusion any of it reaches it's target - at least to us, as opposed to the glass in front of you. ;-) But throwing it will not change the ways our diplomatic channels work. 19.
I am not changing the subject, rather we have some people come in here, make at best vague statements, curiously always refering to non-public ways of communication so that we may ask for their stance on the subject, rather than giving a very simple and clear cut answer to a very simple question. Of course, the whole intention of this is to avoid giving an answer in the first place, rather continue dodging around the only relevant question, and to take this away from the public, and to ultimately keep a vague threat in the air. You are the true master of this approach, obviously. Tromp showed that it is infact very simple, very easy, to give a very simple and clear answer to the two relevant questions asked countlessly in this thread here in public. Of course, likely his alliance had no plan to keep up the unclear threats to protect a friend.
Come to us, query one of triumvirs and ask. How can they dodge then? And you will be free to come back here and say "they disallowed our entry". Or "they said they will countered if we join". So how is that keeping anything from public opinion? But if we gave the answer "we will not interfere", well, that would take the ammo from people who's aim is to continue a smear campaign. Not only this, but it would mean certain commitment. And no one likes warfare on those levels, as it is not pretty No. They'd rather whine that no one answered they questions, when they very well know how we see OWF. Why try to join the fight, when they can get all the PR points they would get by joining? Hah, even more. People often trashtalk in the public, because they know it does not cause any commitments. We do not answer to people who think that the ability to get on soap box and shout, gives them all the rights alliance governments have. We will not discuss this on OWF, as we do not recognize it as proper diplomatic channel. In case someone is wondering: asking in prayers, baking the questions in fortune cookie, tattooing it on forehead or writing it on a wall is not proper diplomatic channel either [ooc: nor is pastebin for that matter]. It is a fact, it will not change. Asking here is as good as the options I just listed. "very simple, very easy, to give a very simple and clear answer", heh. We did that too. "42". Now get back to asking proper, simple and clear question - and ask proper people in proper place.

I like how you're always insinuating that we suck at fighting after you fought "5%" of our nations. Perhaps you missed the 95% of us who kick $@! at war? You're at like 4 NS, man. Its nothing but rookies down at that level. Grow some and take me on. I'll hit you so hard your great grandchildren will glow green.

No, I've talked to my alliance mates too and haven't heard great things. Besides, I started off hitting your 15k NS nations. Were they 'rookies' too, Corinan? If so, you're not giving your members much credit. Then again, I'm not either. Also, I'm really doubting that "4" number for NSO nations I've fought. But even if it was only 4 (which I find highly implausible), I was pretty unimpressed. And you said only 1 didn't have an MP. So only one was a "rookie" (maybe). Based on those stats I fought 3 experienced members of NSO, and I'm here yawning about my experience. Add another "NSOer" in RV and his mediocre skills (he missed a few opportunities to really hurt me and generally wasn't all that amazing), and I'm unimpressed. I am more than confident that myself and other CSNers can easily match up with and defeat individual NSO nations. After all, we already have. But NSO has always been one of those alliances that just talked and talked and talked and couldn't really walk the walk.

 25. What can I say - spoken like a true Sith. Kudos. That said, if CSN does not want to lose stats, maybe this can be taken elsewhere? My astronauts (and one loony, but he is to be ignored) keep telling me of this Planet Steve. Maybe we could get 3 refs, you'd send your colonists there at same date, and have a, let's say 7 day grace period. [ooc: TE gladiatoral ]
