  1. So, in trying to figure out all of the nuances of the calculator I'm working on, I've been told two conflicting stories: the Stock Market adds $10.00 to gross income; the Stock Market adds $10.00 to the net income. I was inclined to believe that the Stock Market added $10.00 to the gross income (making it taxable thereafter), but someone else has suggested otherwise. Can anyone confirm which one is the case?
  2. Yeah, I just found out last night that there are still a few bugs that need to be worked out. The biggest one is to make sure the calculations change due to wonder purchases. If my population changes from a wonder, or my gross income changes from a wonder, that should be reflected in the other wonder calculations. I am working on that now. The other thing I am doing is trying to compensate for any existing wonders. This way it doesn't exaggerate your income bonus or calculate from inaccurate information. As for lowering the DEFCON level: it was simply an arbitrary means of finding out the loss of income based upon one happiness point. I've found out that this is essentially moot, and now finally understand what Aeternos Astramora was talking about. If one has all the improvements that affect happiness, the end result will be $4.15/happiness. So, the prudent thing would be to include a spot for this. Man, this thing is becoming a lot more complicated than I imagined.
  3. We certainly do. I'm considered one of the younger ones at 29.
  4. Noted and fixed. It should be noted that at no time did the calculator ask for any kind of identifiable information, especially log-in information.
  5. I'm not sure what that section would accomplish. If my understanding is correct, it seems to needlessly complicate things. The tax rate is adjustable for those who have less than a 28% tax, but I assume anyone wanting a wonder would already be maxing out their tax. For those wanting to raise it to 30% because they have the SSS, the calculator already adjusts for the increased tax revenue. Changing the tax manually to compensate for having a SSS would screw up the calculations (I think - if not, it would make no difference). Having a location to mark existing wonders is moot because the calculator is deisgned to take into account existing wonders by removing their final income result in the calculation of the recommended wonder. The only other reason to have a place to list current wonders is for taste. Hmm... I was not aware of that. Do you know if this is still the case? If so, what would you recommend to make this calculator available to the public? It seems like a waste if it's not available for people to use.
  6. The wonder calculator is now being hosted on our forum boards. www.blackroseorder.net/ It is at the top called "Wonder of Wonders".
  7. Tech will probably stay the same. It means more in some ways and less in others. I may or may not continue to buy it (let's face it, I'm shallow, and the hollow effect tech had on NS was the biggest reason I bought it), but I certainly won't be buying it if the price is raised. I think that the bottom line of cost for tech sellers has a huge impact on how much tech is sold for. My bottom line is that I won't pay more than $3 million for 100 tech. If prices go beyond that, I just don't need tech that badly. I'm sure many others feels the same, and that is why tech prices will remain where they are.
  8. That would be an unequivocal yes. Drop Furs, Gems, Gold, and Silver and pick up Lumber, Marble, Pigs, and Cows.
  9. I've seen nations with over 11,000 inf., so I assume it's still profitable to keep going - just the rate of profit declines. For the longest time I used to think that trade resources didn't make much of a difference until I lined up my optimal trade. Well, I was wrong; $700k/day wrong, so that's something you may want to look at.
  10. People are welcome to charge whatever they want. I just choose to exercise my right to buy elsewhere. You're right, though: I've seen some prices for tech that just make me shake my head and wonder if people actually buy it for that price. Surely nations large enough to purchase tech know what going rates are. I might pay $2 million to a friend for 50 tech, but I'd just as soon send him $3 million as a gift so it's really a moot point.
  11. Yes, $1 million to $1.5 million is fine. Anything less than $1 million and you're selling yourself short or undercutting other people, and they may not like it very much. Anything more than $1.5 million and you're just being greedy.
