In the old days I used to have ~3 events active at any time, but from this summer onwards I have had less than one per month. Of course, collecting taxes less frequently (or rather, having more and longer periods without tax collecting at all) have something to do with it, but I still collect on most days.

Those statements are not mutually exclusive. An alliance can aggressively go to war, but not allow their members to start wars of their own. This makes the alliance resemble an army (soldiers generally don't start gunfights of their own, they do it because their army is involved in an armed conflict), and is part of the reason the NPO is so successful.

I always listen to what my people want. Currently, my people want Monarchy, so that's what they are getting. If they had wanted Republic, they would have gotten Republic. Had they wanted Communism, they would have gotten Monarchy. And so on.

5. The two latest trades lost were replaced within about 24 hours. I don't remember exactly how long I used on the one before that, but I think it was about a week. Lumber and wheat rocks. Not as much as marble of course, but still...
