  1. The recent outbreak of conflict between III Percent and [insert name of one-man AA here] has laid bare a longstanding problem within our community, a story of misused rights and wantonly exercised power that has spanned the existence of Bob itself, damaging the very firmaments of the world and leaving many unwilling or unable to assert their agency over the events of this plane. Too often have we seen individuals take to the OWF and mercilessly abuse that which cannot fight back; today, we announce our refusal to stand silently and watch this maltreatment continue. This is an injustice up with which we shall not put. They Wont Take Are Freedom's An Optional Protectorate Agreement Between Sengoku and The English Language Clause I: Sengoku agrees to do its utmost to protect the English language from those that seek to do it harm. In return, the English language will overlook any mishaps that arise when hartfw has been drinking, or his keyboard is broken for the third !@#$@#$ time this week. Clause II: Sengoku has the option, but not the responsibility, to defend the English language by any means necessary. This may take the form of relentless spell-checking, links to grade school resources, or even military action if necessitated. The English language is not required to likewise defend Sengoku, though it may if desired provide the occasional snappy comeback. Clause III: This treaty is eternal; it cannot be cancelled, though it can and almost assuredly will be forgotten by Tuesday. Signed, Emperor - hartfw --- Shogun - Autosave36 ------ Daimyo of Foreign Affairs: Schad Daimyo of War: Auctor Daimyo of Internal Affairs: PresidentSO Daimyo of Finance: Petro Roju: Rogal Dorn, bcortell, dockingscheduled
  2. Convenient excuse. Congrats to two alliances that are excellent and excellently allied. Suddenly feel like the little brother with the thick glasses that isn't cool enough for an Umbrella treaty but still you have to drag him to the park because your mom said that she wouldn't give you $10 for snacks otherwise and ugh he just sits there and looks into the distance.
  3. Likely incomplete, as it includes only those wars of mine that haven't been deleted (so, bunch of raids and probably some early-round stuff): Infra destroyed: 10932.9 Tech destroyed: 1721.38 Land destroyed: 5333.096 337,502 Attacking + 507,946 Defending = 845,448 Casualties
  4. This is the most Stevie thing ever written.
  5. The problem: because the prize structure for the round is known before kickoff, experienced players are able to plan their builds and tactics around them. Consequently, most of the prizes are won by a small group of said individuals round after round. Note that this isn't a self-interested complaint...few if any groups have had more success winning prizes in recent rounds as Sengoku and those we've worked with. A (partial) solution: leave one or two of the round prizes undisclosed for most of the round, announced on the prizes page perhaps ~3 days from reset. The award categories would be of the typical sort that reward good building/warring rather than anything gimmicky, but withholding their exact nature until late might result in somewhat more varied approaches to building, giving others a fighting chance (or making the end of round melee a bit more entertaining, at least). Or, it might make for a dreadfully boring round as everyone keeps their powder dry until the last possible moment to be cash-flush when the prize(s) are announced. Who knows!
  6. As a War Dove, while it hurts me that it has come to this, I have to say that we have fully deserved all of the wars you have declared on us, Auctor. May justice prevail.
  7. Sure, but we're three of 40+, and we joined late. There are a lot of WD nations who've been there longer, put more work into organizing things, etc. Wouldn't feel right to win donations off their efforts.
  8. For the record: there is precisely zero chance that myself or any of the TEPD refugees will take the top two in WD this round. Beyond the fact that I almost never end a round with more than a couple thousand NS, and have no intention of changing that, we didn't move for a flag, and we wouldn't screw people who gave us a landing spot.
  9. If you believe this, you can't do simple addition. For those who can, the NS of the six declaring nations: 102,972. The NS of Hellas' six defending nations: 78,602. Brave as always, Misfits.
  10. Standard FF/Beer/Construction w/fish and uranium, short sugar/spices. Inquire within, or via PM.
  11. Nations of the yellow sphere, While you enjoy the comforts of civilization, and the benefits afforded by fat cat senators who care only about the 98%, innocent RIOT Society nuke turrets don't have it so well. Some cannot afford their bills; others cannot so much as accumulate a full complement of nukes without incurring minor economic penalties. Iiiiiiiin the aaaaaaaaarms oooooofffff the aaaaaaaangel I'm Alex Trebek, beloved emotionless shatter of trivial dreams and spokesman for RIOT Vision International. flyyyyyyy awayyyyyyyy from heeeeere Too many of us go through life with our eyes closed, barely noticing the horrors in the world in which we live. But every day, as many as two or three RIOT nations finds themselves starved for tech, barely able to afford the basics in life on their meager warchests. But this need not be the case. They need not suffer. yoooooou're iiiiiin the aaaaaaaaaaarms oooooof the aaaaangel You can sponsor a RIOT nuke turret for as little as one aid packet. For the price of just one hundred tech, you can give them the gift of hope. Act now, and you'll receive a personalized message of thanks from the RIOT nuke turret that you have sponsored, as well as updates when they reach full capacity and manage to build a warchest beyond five days' bills. maaaaay you fiiiiiiiiiiiiiind your stockpiles fiiiiiiiiiiiiilled
  12. Perhaps RIOT's couple affected nations could ask their betters in the alliance to use their newfound riches for the single aid slot worth of money that would make them whole and salve their soul. I fought them, and I know that $6m means far more to the average 15k RIOT nation than it does to people that keep six or even seven digits worth of bank in good times, but really now.
  13. Minus the economic gain. Pocket change, for a couple of nations.
  14. RIOT's free to feel aggrieved because the harsh hand of fate conspired to throw this out at a bad time. But no rational human being should put off that sort of event for a week in order to allow them to save pocket change.
  15. I'm below 4k infra and re-buying nukes (from spending a week nuking RIOT, coincidentally enough). If that proposal was active on a sphere that included me I'd push for its adoption, because it'd be idiotic to prioritize a minimal loss on my part over a substantial gain for the vast majority of members of my alliance and the sphere writ large. Sure, consult. But if the end result of that consultation is something other than "we're going to do what benefits 98% of the nations on this sphere" you are doing consultation very wrong.
  16. Alliance guide sounds like a great idea to me; had someone ask the open-ended "any ideas on where I should go?" recently, and could only point him to the PCA forum, and the threads there really don't have that much information or differentiation. Heck, once a relatively comprehensive guide was put together, some technically-gifted person could even create a quick program where players could input what they were looking for and get a list of the AAs that most fit their criteria.
  17. Warchest, warchest, warchest. It's not just about surviving and rebuilding...having a large pile of money means that you can adjust quickly to the opponents you're facing. I had a grand total of not too much militarily an hour before declaration, but I did have enough money to max out spies and buy a couple hundred tech to match your airforce when you ended up a as a target. It's something that you'll often see with TPC and other high-cash groupings; the alliance you declare on and the alliance you're facing a day later rarely feature much similarity, and it all comes down to having enough cash to make changes in prep for a war or once one breaks out.
  18. If this were the first time, you might have gotten away scot-free. If you had actually approached DT from the off in a way that suggested that you thought that hitting their protectorate was an oopsie, you might have gotten away scot-free. But neither happened. And lord knows this wouldn't be the last time, if that were the case. It was time to send a message.
  19. I was one of the people who was involved with them during the war, and who was furious at the time. Since then, they've had a leadership overhaul, and they've demonstrated a pretty rare talent for self-analysis and a commitment to improving on the things -- internally and externally -- that led them into trouble in Disorder. Consequently, they've built a lot of good will where it was once in short supply. Really, a lot of credit also has to go to a couple of their allies; they backed IRON to the hilt when the storm was raging around them, and it provided the latitude for IRON to turn things around.
