    An opportunity to peel off a few nations, particularly higher NS ones, before they could enter against allies. Between their treaty with SNX and the nation jumping a full-scale entry looked imminent, at least to our somewhat skewed perspective last night. Plus, the spilling of hart's wine was pretty coincidental; it raised the spectre of sabotage aimed at undermining our military capacity.

    None of the people who made this decision were in any condition for diplomacy. Or war coordination, or even the most basic level of rational decision-making. That only one member of our government urinated on themselves on the way to this announcement more than merits the "good job guys", so I will heartily accept it.

    At 5k infra, and with far less than a full wonder set, I am one of the downtrodden waifs for whom you presume to speak. Even with a negative event and the poor-to-the-rich proposal in place, those two events you're railing against boosted my collection by more than 10%. I raise my gruel spoon defiantly in your direction, and demanded that the huddled masses have more competent representation.

    I don't want any system that revolves around finishing NS, because ultimately that just dissuades people from fighting in the later stages of the round.

    I'd support this more than end-of-round NS. It'd take some doing to ensure that those thresholds are high enough that people couldn't i) reach them in ten days and largely abandon their nations, or ii) end up with a bunch of people simply ticking some boxes while having no interest in genuinely taking part. Might have to make it something of a hybrid: link your SE/TE nations and reach 10k NS AND 100k casualties (or some other figure that most full-round participants would hit, but would be difficult to game) and receive an SE bonus equivalent to the referral bonuses. Wouldn't want the bonuses to be anything terribly massive, just enough to provide incentive.

    If word got out that we were capable of signing a treaty that had been under discussion for less than four months, we'd have a lot of 'splaining to do.

    Glad to see this made official; ABLS is a quality group. Two treaties in a week...it's something of a record for us, and one even involved an actual alliance.
