1. IIRC, our biggest nation at the time wouldn't even have been in range of all but one or two of their members, if that. If the world's defense against DBDC hinged on Sengoku's nonexistent supertier avenging alliances to which we had no connection, I'm sorry that we so thoroughly failed you all.
2. We had absolutely no relationship with DBDC at that time. Just. Stop. Digging.
3. Sparta's finally in and the world is banding together to turn AB into a smoking crater at long last? There have been worse days.
4. Welcome, and thanks NPO. It's much appreciated. Sandstorm's certainly not laying down, and consequently some of their nations have entered the lower mid-tier netherverse. Between cross-declarations to hit top tiers and others to hit smalls, I don't envy the people making war charts for this one.
5. There's still some questing to go before they reach NPO. What kind of a quest wraps in five minutes?
6. PB-NpO/DH-NPO/whatever. BN declared war on UBD; the front peaced less than 48 hours later when UBD's allies withdrew. It was...slightly unsatisfying.
7. God Kings don't do conference calls. Instead, we meet to divine his will from the clues to yesterday's New York Times crossword.
8. With the departure of Methrage, hartfw is the only true outsider candidate this race. Raised in a small shack by a group of hobos who sold ill-crafted knitwear, hart wasn't even aware that politics existed until shortly after his 23rd birthday, when heavy-handed zoning bylaws decreed that the middle of a public street was an unacceptable place for an open-pit latrine, opening his eyes to the burden of regulation on entrepreneurs. From that point forward he dedicated his life to furthering the interests of the common man through that most patriotic of channels: pushing for measures that primarily benefit the already wealthy. This election is about common sense. Are you going to let some machine politicians in the pocket of Big Tech and their toadies in Medium-Sized Spreadsheet tell you what is best for your nation, or are you finally ready to throw off the shackles and let a regular joe like the rest of us who doesn't understand any of that have a crack at power?
9. I cannot help but get the impression that you believe that there was or is a shadowy cabal of alliance leaders on our side, meeting more or less in secret, colluding on who goes where and when, shuffling alliances like so many pieces on a game board. What an imagination you have, my dear fellow.
10. That is a mostly adequate description of how chained warfare works, sure.
11. Going in on an optional treaty with FTW when we were *right here*. I'll just show myself out.
12. Wasn't aware SNX had any other sort.
13. Today is the greatest day I have ever known.
14. They're hardly alone in that. I feel like I've missed the opportunity to declare war on the alliance of my choice with impunity or fear that genuine destruction would have to follow.
15. I realize that the OWF and the war screen might as well be in parallel universes, but I truly cannot remember a war in which the "we're going to war" announcements were so thoroughly divorced from actual actions that entail war.
16. Weekly reminder that TSC is doing more damage than multiple AFM alliances combined despite being a small group with a much less advantageous means of entry into this war. And yes, I'm cheerleading the people we hit.
17. Spying government type does not change their government type; it causes their population to want a new government type.
18. The pernicious myth of bagged milk is merely another provocative attack against right-being Canadian folk. My milk comes in jug form like any other subscriber to modernity; any further suggestion that bagged or boxed milk is ubiquitous will be treated as an action meriting a defensive military action.
19. Credit to TSC for doing significantly more damage in an apparently unexpected defensive war than many undertaking a planned offensive one.
20. At the risk of navel-gazing with such ferocity that I can count individual cells, the 'aggressive/defensive' call has always been in the eye of the beholder...I've yet to witness a circumstance where it amounted to anything more than a couple fruitless pages on the OWF. Hit their tech sellers and you (and your allies) will be convinced that any retaliation is aggressive, while the seller (and their allies) will be equally convinced that it's defensive. The end product will be the same either way.
