1.
Seriously, though - and Mega, baby, I still love you, but seriously. RoK's charter doesn't forbid coups. Most charters do have a clause in there about treason or punitive action for violating charter or what have you. RoK's charter, however, is ridiculously short; it just has four rules...one of which they violated by allowing, if not encouraging, others to do. It has no guidance on what should be done in the situation of ANY charter violations...but obviously something is done, or else why even have the rules in the charter in the first place? Their charter is lacking in words to give freedom to the membership (and honestly, the government) to do whatever they please
Charter, constitutions, coups; whatever. It does sound a lot like the way RoK was intended to be governed wasn't followed, which puts in doubt the validity of other agreements and puts pressure on allies to choose a side. Much the same as what happened to GGA.
 2.
Anyone else find it ironic/funny that Ragnarok (The name of the Viking Doomsday) caused the doom of a Viking based bloc? No one? Really? Ok -goes and sits back in the geek corner-
Lol. Don't worry, you're not the only one. I had the same thought.
 3.
To be fair, USN, Menotah, and GDA were wonderful to fight against and didn't make such a stink
We've made a stink? The only reason I've posted here is because I'm pig-sick of all the spouted garbage that comes out of Europa's throat all the time. You want this "stink" to end, well get your allies to shut the hell up and we'll do the same.
 4.
NEW, SNAFU, Valhalla, IRON, TORN and WP have been pleasant, perhaps you should learn from them.
Good point. These weird Europa/FEAR emo-fests aside this has been a really fun war and that's because we've had really fun opponents. I've got nothing but warm words for everyone that's been taking part in our mutual pixel depletion project
 5.
Stats
Crazy thing that. Nations in war mode have less pixels remaining than nations in peace mode. You're a genius.
UPN actually started it but were to scared of being mocked to publicly DoW
Lol! So what you're saying is that FEAR posts topics about UPN but doesn't actually attack, whilst UPN attacked but didn't actually post a topic. Yeah, trembling in our boots we were.
 6.
He means you guys suck at war and were cowering in peace mode while the rest of your bloc took massive damage.
Oh is that right? Well I'm be sure to tell the guys that have been fighting away for the last two months not to worry about the damages, because we were all "cowering in peace mode" and so clearly imagined it all.
 7.
which is more than can be said for UPN.
Care to quantify that?
 8.
Now let's enjoy a good war. I had the chance to pick Altheus and I hope that he will enjoy as much as I do to exchange some cruise and nuclear missiles for a while. o/ SNAFU !
Absolutely. I'm sure we'll have a great time
 9.
still looking...
We've been organising purple trade circles at cnupn.org. If you're still stuck post on the trades thread and we'll try and fit you into one of ours.
 10.
Was announced in Argents birthday thread that PF will be moving to Pink.
Damn, I missed that. Thanks.
Its not like lack of nations on a trade sphere harm trades anymore.
Aye, very true.
 11. I doubt I'm the first to notice, but ever since the great resource switchover, the pink sphere's been gaining new members very fast. Fast enough that it's actually passed yellow, brown and "no team" in the team statistics. Most of these these new members are from the PF bloc. For example, OMFG (previously purple) now have 16 out of 25 pink members and Argent (previously Aqua) now have 39 out of 60 pink members. So, out of interest what's going on?
 12.
I'm, honestly, a bit disappointed with the some of the comments -- not the comments, per se (those are predictable enough), but the source. A small tinge of disappointment in that in a few cases (most I couldn't care less about). Of course, it's the same OWF song and dance we've seen since aught-six. We spent some time getting to know several "powers-that-be", but those powers-that-be weren't too interested, unless we ditched our friends. If it were a horrible John Hughes movie of the '80s, we'd ditch all our friends, try desperately to fit in and, in the end, after a some sort of soul-searching moment, we'd discover our true friends were those that took us for who we are. But, it's not a Hughes movie, thankfully. Instead we simply chose to partner with those who will take us as we are. And that's somehow an indictment of us.
That actually perfectly sums up how I feel, but couldn't somehow quite find the words for. Thank you.
 13.
That's precious. This must be the pinnacle of UPN paranoia.
Considering the Indigo sphere doesn't even exist that'd be a very extreme form of paranoia. No, I don't think anyone's trying to push us out to a non-existant colour sphere, just entertained by a joke suggesting that two alliances who have purple sphere alliances for collectively over ten years could be made out not to be purple.
 14.
You know, this man is right! Why should we be ashamed to be purple?! Nay, Valhalla and Olympus are Purple. It is Legion and UPN who are Indigo!
Oh Lol! Good luck pushing us out.
 15. The open world forum hasn't had one of these for a while, a treaty announcement. UPN & Legion have been friends for a long long time and despite a err... blip last year are going to carry on being so, despite whatever this merry world might throw at us. Due not only to friendship but also a recognition of the increasing synergy in our foreign affairs, we've decided to sign the below long-overdue treaty. Ave Legio! Yay UPN! Hi Trolls!
Iunctus Puniceus Concordia! aka/ The Legionberry Accords aka/ The Treaty of Sangiovese 2.0 ODOAP Article One: Peace Both of the signatory alliances and their respective member nations recognize and will respect each other's sovereignty and political independence. They will develop good co-operation between them to ensure lasting security. They will refrain from espionage and the threat or use of force against each other and will settle all disputes between them by peaceful means. Both signatory alliances shall be resolute in their insistence that their respective members remain polite and civil to each other at all times, especially in public forums and other public venues. Article Two: Communication In signing these protocols, both signatory alliances recognize that communication and Intelligence is the foundation for a strong and enduring relationship and that there is mutual benefit for both alliances when open communication and intelligence between them is maintained. To that end, both signatory alliances agree to productive two-way inter-alliance communication and the sharing of intelligence. Article Three: Defense This Provision hereby dictates that under any circumstances if either of the undersigned finds itself attacked by a foreign power, the opposite signatory to this agreement is, upon request, encouraged to declare war against the foreign aggressor. The attacked signatory of this agreement maintains the right to waive assistance. Article Four: Aggression In the event of an offensive war by either signatory, assistance may be requested. While encouraged to do so, this assistance is given at the signatories full discretion. Article Five: Cancellation Either signatory alliance may terminate this compact at any time by providing the other signatory alliance with a 48 hour notice of intent to terminate. This compact is automatically terminated when either signatory alliance violates the Articles above. /s/ Totem - Imperator /s/ Watcher - Minister of Economics /s/ Regent Pancras - Minister of Foreign Affairs /s/ Killer04 - Minister of Defence /s/ Triumvirate of the UPN
16. That's what I took from it as well. To think SF & CDT were related at one point.
 17. Congratulations and good luck cleaning up after the brutal cream-pie fight
 18.
The ex-heg power cluster on the other side now outnumbers the NPO side. They didnt fade away they just mover their custers across the road. example: Sparta and MHA both Q make up half their bloc. TOP and Gramlins both Q make un 40% of Citadel 2
That's worth looking at. Ex-Q alliances other than NPO are... TOP: Pillowfort. Gramlins: Reformed Alliance. Now in Pillowfort. OG: Only 14 members left, tied to TOP IRON: Duckroll. Sanctioned. Valhalla: Duckroll/Mjolnir/Duckroll FOK: Pandora's Box Sparta: XX. Sanctioned. MHA: XX. Sanctioned. TPF: Tied to NPO NATO: Tied to NPO MCXA: Indirect ties to NPO So it looks like what used to be Q has scattered across CN.
 19.
So let me get this straight. Back in Karma every single of your allies (to my knowledge) cancels on you except Invicta, including TPF.
Actually a number of alliances didn't cancel on NPO during the Karma War, including UPN, Legion and others. The Coalition of Cowards (that did cancel) consisted of NPO's "allies" in the Continuum and One Vision Blocs. However I agree with your general point. Invicta (and Legion before them) deserved better than this.
 20.
I guess UPN was wishing for Lord Boris to make an ass of himself in front of everyone?
Mission achieved. Still waiting for the "consequences"
 21.
UPN wanted the war.
No we didn't.
 22.
Orly? Did it.. actually R&R (GOD's only ally on that front) had no problem at all continuing fighting UPN and both iFOK and CMEA i've offered myself to take a separate peace if they wanted to, because we would take a bit more time then needed. Seeing CMEA contained a lot of former R&R, that had the same distaste for Bi-polar actions from UPN they didn't take it. And peace was signed before iFOK ever got back to me about it. As for the actual disbandment... they're still around aren't they? And i can tell you it had nothing to do with public opinion but everything to do with UPN showing last war they where no longer the UPN of the past (or at least working hard on not being it anymore). We gave UPN an out of the war several times while they where clearly defeated and nothing more then a small strain on our lower midtiers, they opted to continue (respect for that and again something that showed this wasn't the Bi-Polar UPN anymore) when they finally came for peace.. well we wanted it on our terms basically, not their earliest convenience. Giving them a good scare in the process was perhaps a bit childish but not more then that really.

Why believe in God if it's going to hurt your position in society to do so? Which is to say; because it's an ideal I hold, even if it's bad for realpolitikal ends, and I tend to defend my beliefs. I think disbandment makes everyone put a lot of effort into nation building, I think it makes people care more about what treaties they sign - and how they perform in wars - because it raises the stakes so high, and I think having it off the table breeds laziness and sloppy treaty signing [leading to a ballooning web]. It's a valid position and not one I'm going to abandon simply for emotional or PR reasons.
Maybe R&R and GOD's plans were different, I don't know, but something doesn't add up. The strong impression we got in the war was that Xiphosis was absolutely desperate to disband UPN and only gave up when he realised it wasn't going to happen.
 23.
When Invicta splintered from Legion
Invicta didn't splinter from Legion. It's first members came from Novus Orbus.
 24.
What's the most members one alliance has ever had? Also, it's GOONs.
Legion had over 1,500 members at one point.
