August 1, 2009 In response to the reports that the Terran Federation had invaded South Starvania, President Masterson issued the following statement. "The rumors that Terrian forces have invaded South Starvania are true. We mobilized units of our army to engage the what was once oppressive royal family of the nation,and successfully removed them from power, giving the people the right to freedom. We have withdrawn our troops, allowing the people of South Starvania to rule themselves, under the supervision of local Starvanian authorities. I realize that I acted without the approval of The German Empire. It was a matter of time. These people needed to be liberated, so they could no longer live in fear, or poverty. Waiting for approval of an obvious decision only would have caused more pain and suffering to prolong. We acted on our hearts." To follow the brief statement, President Masterson will be issuing a full press release sometime later today. However, cabinet members have issued their own statements, as well as commanders of the armed forces. It was concluded that soldiers of the 1st. Armored Combat Brigade of the 1st Armored Infantry Division, the 99th Ranger Regiment, and A Squadron of 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, though the top Terrian officials deny Delta's involvement in the operation, citing it was a "... conventional operation." The attack began late on the night of July 31st, with ground troops and armore pouring into the nation after cruise missle strikes and helicopter air assaults on the targeted nation. Targets of interests included the royal family's palace, loylist military camps, and main roads of access to major cities. The aftermath resulted in the near eradication of South Starvania's loyalists units, as well as the destruction of major military installments, and the royal family's palace. Terrian casualties were estimated at 1,500 (of a deployed 2,800) along with nearly 50 tanks, and one Apache helicopter, that could not be confirmed down by enemy fire, or aircraft malfunction. While some of criticized the casualty rate of Terrian forces, all agree that the operation was justified and the lives of the men involved were not killed in vain. Some remain concerned over South Starvania's air force, which remained untouched oddly, and over thirty aircraft remain ready to attack, against a very weak Terran Federation air force. President Masterson included in his brief speech, "... If any nation who is willing to help bring about the destruction of what symbolizes oppression and intolerance, I ask you to strike this nation, and destroy the moderate airpower they have. Keep them from striking needless targets, and harming innocent people. Loyalists are unpredictable. It's best to put them out of comission for good." Once again, President Masterson is due to release a full press release on the operation by noon CST today.

July 31, 2009 BREAKING NEWS Terran Federation military forces have reportedly deployed and invaded South Starvania. Rumored motives for the assault include the removal of the King of the once former monarch state, now thrown into anarchy. President Masterson is planned to release a statement by noon August 1st.

July 26, 2009 A press release, issued by the Terrian government late last night gave new details to the daring rescue of the United States of Backyard's president, N. Reeki. A top commanding officer spoke on behalf of the entire military and explained exactly what happened. "We received a tip from an informant that Mr. N Reeki was in fact being held in the United Soviet Regime, just off the coast on board a cargo vessel that was preparing to set sail for an unknown location. We immediately assembled members of our army's special operations unit and deployed them via helicopter to the USR vessel. Within minutes, the majority of the guards on board had been neutralized and N. Reeki was found in the crew quarters, tide to a bed. After exiting the vessel, the unit then scuttled the ship and captured one prisoner, who has given us the details I have just given you. That prisoner will be held and tried for terrorism and kidnapping, and we'll be looking to extradite him to the USB for further trials." No follow up statement has been issued by President Masterson, and as usual, Premier Greenmorrow remains silent on all issues, and has yet to address any statements made in the past month, leading most to believe that in fact a coup has been made against him, or that he has simply decided to cut all relations.

*Response Message* TO: USB FROM: TF The bodies of the deceased captors did not appear to wear any garment signifying their affiliation to SCORPIA. However, the location we retrieved N. Reeki from, was a major shipping port within the United Soviet Regiem, aboard a USR registered cargo vessel. Our forces were able to apprehend one of the gunmen involved and are currently interrogating him in an undisclosed location. We will inform you when we have learned anything new. N. Reeki himself has instead been sent by a private jet to his country, and should be on the ground within the hour.

July 24, 2009 BREAKING NEWS Terrian officials have confirmed the reports that Terrian Special Forces have located and recovered the United States of Backyard's N. Reeki. He is unharmed and safe within Terrian borders now. The report comes just minutes after top brass received the "all clear" from the ground team. The special forces unit, which is not allowed to be named at this time, was given the greenlight when federal agents confirmed other reports that N. Reeki was being held in a location that cannot be mentioned at this time, however it was not within the Terran Federation. Several photographs of the operation confirm the mission and it's success. July 24, 2009 Recent discussions between the United Soviet Regime and the Terran Federation in regards to the USR's communist government has been quiet as of recent. Both leaders have fixated their agendas to other issues at hand, however officials close to President Masterson claim that the thought has not left the back of his mind. "President Masterson has still considered talks with Premier Greenmorrow on the matter, but has so far focused on improving Terran's domestic issues," said on top official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the subject. In other news, federal agents, as well as local police departments around Terran have been looking for N. Reeki, leader of the United States of Backyard. N. Reeki had gone missing earlier this month and has yet to be heard from. USB intelligence groups suspect a terrorist group known as Sabotage, Corrupption, Intelligence, Assassination. Or SCORPIA, is behind the scene of the missing person. A time table has been set for the search of N. Reeki within the nation, but hopes are low of any findings of him will occur.

Federal agents as well as local authorities within the Terran Federation have so far been unsuccessful in locating N. Reeki, but have not discontinued the efforts in searching. However, this only supports reason that N. Reeki is most likely not being held in the Terran Federation.

July 22, 2009 On Tuesday, July 21st. Terran Federation General Inspectors wre granted admission within the United Soviet Region, and were allowed to investigate the economic and population situations of the communist nation. One inspector released a statement earlier today describing their findings and their recommendations on the situation. "We found no evidence to support any claim that the communist government is oppressing its people, nor are the people in dispare. The vast majority that we spoke with spoke well of their government, most of them live in comfort, with clean houses, reliable automobiles, and exceptional health. There were some areas of poverty, but no more than we'd find in the average industrialized nation. The financial situation of the USR too was very stable. After auditing the national budgets and taxes claims, we were able to confirm that the USR holds enough fiscal resoures to sustain their own well being. The only negative aspect of our search came in the form of their current economy. While it is not in bad shape, we found that they are in fact not maxing the potential of their economic options. They have the ability to perform more trade, at least by fifty percent more, but have lagged on the chances. We recommended to them to act on this issue immediately to ensure better growth. In conclusion of our inspections, we have nothing that proves anything is wrong with their government at this time. However, we still stick by our opinion that history has shown communism eventually fails, and would still like the USR to consider a change in government. But so long as they continue to prosper, we do not believe we need to take action." Some Terrian officials were quick to make claims that the evidence provided to the inspectors were in fact altered to give the appearance of a thriving nation, and that the people spoken to on the streets were either hired to act as happy citizens, or ordered to by force and fear. President Masterson himself spoke on those claims. "I have no reason to believe that any of the people our inspectors spoke to were hired or forced against their will to put on a mask of happiness towards our inspectors. I also believe that the evidence provided through our audits and inspections are in fact true, and hold nothing back. I in fact congratulate Premier Greenmorrow on his nations success, and wish them nothing but the best to come in this uncertain years." President Masterson also issued a statement on the earlier allegation from an anonymous caller that the two-hundered TF soldiers sent to the USR earlier in the month for a military cooperation tour, were in fact sent there to disrupt the USR's economy in what was called operation "Reagan Smash." "Our soldiers were not ordered to go into th nation to disrupt it's economy. They were there to show the comradship between our nations. Our recent inspection of the USR that showed it's economy was in fact healthy also disproves this claim made by an obvious opposer to the administration, and should not be taken seriously." July 21, 2009 An anonymous caller to the Federation News Network has made the claim that the two-hundered soldiers dispatched to the United Soviet Regime, were in fact sent there on orders from President Masterson himself to disrupt the nation's economic situation. The caller, who refused to identify himself, said that the operation was leaked to him by a top Terrian general. Operation "Reagan Smash" was handed out to top Terrian military officials, who then agreed to it, and then submitted it to President for authorization. Once approved by the commander in chief, the "mask of peace" as described by the caller was really an attempt to stall or even halt the national growth of the USR. While no returns to our calls to the president or his officials have been returned, most others have quickly denounced such an allegation, and that it's merely political propaganda from an opposing political party attempting to ruin the reputation of President Masterson. The two-hundered soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division that were sent to the USR, have been returned home, three days ahead of the scheduled return date of July 24th. July 21, 2009 In growing concern over the well being of the people in the United Soviet Regime, officials of the Terran Federation gave the leader of USR, Premier Greenmorrow, two options of which to go by. The first proposal was that the USR would immediately denounce it's communist government, and transfer to a more democratic or free moving government. In which the USR would be rewarded financially to allow the new government to prosper quickly. The second option given by the Terran Federation was to have the USR allow TF General Inspectors to come to the communist nation and inspect the region, it's fiscal status, economic soundness, and military operations. Premier Greenmorrow was very quick to refuse both options, citing that the Terran Federation was nothing more than a bigot nation, with a harbor of hate for the communist regime. And that any inspections made by the Terran Federation would be considered acts of spying, and not for the good of the common people. President Masterson responded to the Premier's claims. "The Terran Federation has no interest in spying, we only wish to see that the claims of the nation's people being happy and prosperus are true. Nor do we have any hatered for the USR. In the past, it has been proven time and again that the communist style of government has failed nations once capable of great prosperity. And since we care for the people of the USR, and wish to continue trade with them, we do not want to see them follow suit. We want what is best for both their well being, and our economic soundness with their trade agreements." Both leaders have agreeded to meet in person to discuss these matters first hand, but scheduling conflicts have hampered the planned meeting for any time soon.
