1. I thought it was cute a couple of weeks ago, or so I think, that somebody claimed to have wiped out "t3h commies" or what-not. Now, as a member of the longest living so-called 'Left Alliance' (4 f'ing years, man!), I thought that maybe we could relive some of those nostalgic days. Now, lately, the LSF has been getting closer with its younger comrades around Digiterra and feeling things out. We've had our differences in the past with the Union of Communist Republics, but I'm pleased to say that things have been warming up a little between us. So much so, that we managed to sit in the same room together to sign this little treaty here:
We will defend you .... sometimes. Preamble: The Union of Communist Republics and the Libertarian Socialist Federation hereby sign this Optional Defence Pact in order to show their trust and recognition to one another. Article I: Internal Conflict: No comrade of either the LSF or UCR shall ever commit an act of aggression toward each other. Any attacks by rogue nations will be punished as seen fit by the responsible signatory (or by a council of both alliances if such a request is made). Both alliances retain their sovereignty and remain free to conduct themselves as they see fit with other alliances on Digiterra. Article II: Respect: Both signatories agree to remain civil to each other at all times in public and in private. Any disputes between UCR and LSF should be first handled in private channels. Article III: Intelligence: We share secrets important for each other's safety and we agree that secrets stay secrets. No telling to 3d parties without previous approval. Article IV: Defense: If either the UCR or LSF is attacked, the other has the option to come to their defence in any fashion they find fit, from farting to the enemy's general direction to a DoW. We retain the right to cower in our corner and send a sympathy letter, but a DoW is strongly recommended by this treaty and if you don't DoW it will be mentioned in our wiki for the centuries to come, for ever and ever, amen. Article V: Free Trade Agreement Both the LSF and UCR agree to henceforth open all channels of trade to each others respective alliances. This includes Tech Dealing in pre arranged prices, common Trade Circles building, Foreign Aid and everything we forgot to mention here. Article VI: Protection Against Trade Abuse In the event of a Tech Deal, Trade Circle or whatever gone awry, the UCR's MoFA and LSF's Co-econ will deal with the problems from both sides and will work to bring the problem to a quick and quiet resolution, following the principles of socialist solidarity. If they can't agree on what exactly socialist solidarity is supposed to be, they should try again. Article VII: Cancellation: This treaty may be annulled at any time by either alliance. Should the need to annul occur, the cancelling alliance must give a 48 hour notice of their intention to cancel via private channels and a legitimate reason of why they have chosen this option. The treaty will remain in effect until the 48 hour period has elapsed. 2. This is truly a treat, JAMA. We'll be seeing you around for a while, I'm certain.
3. Another resounding round of ruffacious ruffians ruffling the rosters for a renewal of our radical, revolutionary, er, rebel-leader-guys-with-no-real-power. I'm talking about elections, of course. And in an era of ground-breaking work going on in our little corner of the Hottest Sphere Alive, we've got a little something new. Have you ever, Bob-dwellers, seen a position in quasi-government that was held by two people? Well it's just that awesome that you'll have to read on, my tl;dr-afflicted nit-wits. 4. Buddying up is always heartening. Congrats to our very neighborly friends at TPC.
5. Wow. They really don't read the wikis these days. The hare, in his zeal for greatness, falls victim to his own hubris, and fell like a great column as the tortoise lumbered on, unhindered, patiently as ever.
6. You personally never posed a threat, no. That's not what's being argued. You made a threatening remark, out of jest, in poor taste. A threat is still a threat. It's telling that you'd be willing to do so little to protect your own alliance. You can claim you're not, but you are saying you never threatened us, which you did. You are backpedaling. It matters little to me how my allies govern themselves. Our treaty has a sovereignty clause. This I could care less about. You can do what you want with this point. I wasn't commenting on alliances kicking you out, but that you chose rather lousy ones. It's no wonder you grew bored with them and finally settled back with one that shows promise.
7. I take the survival of my alliance very seriously. You screwed up. You're backpedaling now. And you're marginalized. Of course your situation is minor. Because your alliance dethroned you instead of defending your stupidity. And looking at your previous list of alliances to wit, the joke's on you, pal.
8. Keeping us alive as a trap doesn't strike me as something that sounds as though you like us. Does the cattle herder who keeps his herd alive to fatten them up for the slaughter like his herd in a way that he doesn't wish us harm? Take that 'dumbass' remark and consider somebody more appropriate. A look in the mirror may provide clarity. And the next time that you, MarkLevin7, make vague threats against my alliance or my allies, it won't matter where you go to hide.
9. It's a little odd that a member of The Peoples Community, an alliance that was fostered, in large part, by an alliance many consider to be 'leftist', "The Left", or "left-leaning" (all of which are gross oversimplifications), should be so ready and willing to call for the destruction of a vaguely defined "Communist" threat, and lump us in with them. Hell, you should've pushed harder to get yourself somebody else to protect your ass instead of publically stabbing us in the back for our trouble. You make me sick. TPC and the Pink Sphere deserve better leadership from their residing alliances. Ideologies aside, you are devoid of integrity and honor, and it gives me great shame to have your stench emanating from the proud Pink Sphere I've called home for years. I'm not even going to approach the enormous faults in your arguments against these leftist ideals. Such an honor is reserved for those who don't stab their allies in the back. Pink will be a better team without you as a part of the community at-large.
10. The bonds between two alliances like NEAT and the LSF, both direct democracies, take on a supremely intimate character when it's not a matter of governments sitting down with governmets and hashing things out, often without their own citizens being the wiser until the decision is made. Rather, the brotherhood and camaraderie between two general bodies that interface collectively can often blur the distinctions between the two, especially when they find common purpose, despite their unique identities. NEAT and the LSF have much in common. We also have our own unique histories and paths in life. We can, however, see that our paths are growing inextricably closer, and as a result, I'm pleased to announce the next step forward for Liberty on Bob.
PON RAUL ACCORDS Sovereignty - ArticleI Nations Empowered Against Totalitarianism (henceforth known as NEAT) and the Libertarian Socialist Federation (henceforth known as the LSF) are independent alliances and will not infringe on the sovereignty of the other. Non-Aggression - Article II NEAT and LSF agree not to hold aggressive actions toward each other. Mutual Defence - Article III An attack on one signatory alliance will be considered as an attack on both and shall be treated as such by the other signatory. In the event either signatory declares war via activation of a clause from another treaty, and therefore requests the other signatory's assistance after coming under attack, the mandatory defence is then considered an optional defence. Optional Aggression - Article IV Nations cannot be free while under the threat of war. For this reason, even defensive alliances may find it necessary to take the initiative. In the event that one signatory alliance decides it's necessary to take the initiative to protect their Liberty, they reserve the right to request aid from the latter alliance of this treaty. The latter is encouraged but, not required, to respond to the request by any means possible, including military, financial, and diplomatic aid. Intelligence and Espionage - Article V NEAT & LSF will not commit espionage or aid in espionage against the other party. If one signatory learns of, or reasonably suspects espionage against the other signatory, then they shall immediately notify their brothers of this pact immediately. Cancellation - Article VI Should either signatory wish to exterminate this treaty, they should notify their fellow signatory and, after 48 hours from notification, this treaty will be null and void. 11. Oh please. Nobody is interested in a Great War right now happening over a micro-alliance that overplayed its light hand. You really must read a treaty web once in a while before you go making provocative blanket statements about X being culled by Y. Your black-and-white analysis, along with the subsequent fits of anger over not being involved in some super-cool closed door discussion, leaves you in a pretty awkward spot, amigo. Just take a siesta and let this one go. There'll be enough drama to go around sooner or later.
12. The GCU is no more. They decided they like the LSF's low-key, non-dramatic, Libertarian Socialist approach and dissolved in order to enjoy the benefits of a direct democratic society with seasoned pros. What's telling of the instigators in this thread is that they clearly didn't know what they were even talking about because this was handled in such a quiet fashion, and they lost some easy tech to an alliance they consider inferior. Butthurt, really. And we even took the courtesy of announcing this in public, so there can hardly be a case for "shame" on the part of the LSF. Triky did a good job of tying this up and making a pretty standard announcement and, naturally, some eager national leaders didn't get the memo before their emotions got them. Personally, I'm happy to see the former GCU members being given a second chance to be productive members of the LSF, and CN in general. Meanwhile, some of you drama queens will simply have to drum up trouble elsewhere. I commend all involved parties involved in the discussion for their efforts in maintaining peace, and I once again welcome the former GCU with open arms. ¡Libertad o Muerte!
13. We are certainly delighted to see our historic home sphere growing and prospering. The Peoples Community have been a terrific bunch of folks to work with as we strengthen our economic and political unity, and I look forward to this treaty serving as a stepping stone to a bright future for the Rose Sphere.
14. In keeping with the spirit and direction of the October Revolution, Embassy Row's getting a good clean-up to make way for future expansion. This is the list of embassies that are currently in the danger of being deleted: \m/ FCC The Grey Council Mushroom Kingdom New Pacific Order New Sith Order Nordreich Nueva Vida Old Guard Ragnarok The Foreign Division The German Empire The Grand Lodge of Freemasons Sasori Initiative Valhalla Kronos The Resistance I'd hate to lose any of ya but, the Revolution waits for nobody. 15. Silly me. Could an admin move this to Alliance Announcements? Never, EVER post on CN when your cat is trying to tear its band-aid off.
16. So you’re probably already coming into this thread with LOLSTONERCOMMIES on the brain. Shame on you! That’s some dirty trees you’re messing with there. Because of the apparent overabundance of this stuff permeating Digiterra and giving people a pretty warped view of the reality of just how bleedin’ awesome this time-honored concept of Direct Democracy is, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s seriously time to start doing our part to clean house, and show the world how it’s really done. To that end, the Delegates Council, high as a kite with a clear vision forward, announces the October Revolution to the world, straight from the smoky halls of the DC: The October Revolution There’s been an awful lot of talk about changing up our way of doing things. No longer content to sit idly by in our little neck of the great ball of dirt we affectionately dub Bob, it’s time we have ourselves a little revolution. But a revolution can not be just a partial reform, no matter how radical that be. Not just some buzzwords, a few new graphics printed up, a pep rally and a pat on the back for a little NS jump. It’s gotta be so wicked awesome that we start getting into all kinds of activity that we can’t even handle anymore, like the Devil coming to rip your heart out of your kneecaps or, y’know, that one awesome trip you thought would never end. We’re gonna name this Revolution-in-the-Revolution the "October Revolution", as, in short, we should use the following month to make LSF kick ass before we spread it large. But what is precisely the October Revolution? 1) It’s a Revolution in taking it srs bsns. Check your nations, then head on over to the forums. Like a j a day, it’s a simple habit that’s easy enough to get into and a healthy one that you’ll never wanna quit. 2)It is a Revolution in aesthetics, like any Revolution is. Posters, sigs, fancy quotes, flags, the works! Like a decked-out hoagie with all the fixins. It’s just gotta look too good to ignore! 3)It is a Revolution of imagination and proving that, as equals, united, sitting around the bowl, we’ve all got the power to make the world a rockin’ place to be in a direct democracy. 4)It is a Revolution that’ll spread its wings over the ‘hood. Get out there and let ‘em know! Step it up on the OWF, in our embassies, and the world at-large. Take your colors, your sigs, and show ‘em what we got! Comrades, here's what we need. Volunteer: -For the committee of recruitment. We need nations that will take the commitment to recruit every day. Use your imagination. You don't have to do this mechanically. Know that you can only recruit unaligned nations, not nations in alliances. But you can do it with passion. Send personalized messages. Insist. Use and create our propaganda tools. Spend time in CN forums. Keep our recruitment topic on top by posting frequently. Find new methods. Approach small alliances -not protectorates- and invite them to join us. -For our newspaper. We stopped putting that out there. What the hell? The Militant is what got us going pretty strong in the first place. Let’s write it again, and let our comrades know what’s going down. While we’re at it, let’s print a few extra hundred bazillion copies and cover the world. Let ‘em all know what’s going down. -For the committee for alliance growth. Ever notice that one of your comrades is a hot-ass mess? Don’t leave ‘em hangin! Get ‘em a few trades set up. Better yet, get them on Pink! Y’know, the sphere we’ve been calling home for a couple years already? And if they’re hurting for some dough, set ‘em up with a good tech deal. And if you can get ‘em to buy domestic, all the better. -For the committee for Alliance stats. Check the numbers. Don’t leave your lottery tickets lying out in the open, either. Send your numbers in and keep on checkin’ em. As they rise and fall, so do your chances for greatness. -For propaganda. We ain’t growin’ this !@#$ just for the hell of it. Use it to brighten up your imagination, and put it to good use! Let’s see some of that classic LSF propaganda genius at work! Onwards to the October Revolution, then to the Rose Revolution compagneros. Por la libertad ! So now you know. We’re not just tokin and jokin anymore. We’re the LSF, not some petty BS theme alliance that an Ex-Continuum big shot made up in his spare time. And we’re gonna be havin’ it large. Seeya in a month!

17. Given the drama swirling about lately with some well-meaning folks in the Global Communist Union, we invited them over to the homestead to show them a simpler way of life. And for the time-being, we'll be keeping an eye on 'em. We'll respect each other's space, they'll come to us before they go starting any rough stuff at least three days ahead of time, and if by the 30-day hangout we can't stand each other anymore, we'll give each other a couple of days to move on. 18. And besides, sometimes having a vote or two once in awhile can be satisfying. Surprisingly enough, we've had a pretty good turn-out of newer members stepping up, and a couple of old-timers coming back to proffer what was left of their pot-infused musings. Without further ado, may I present the next Co-Ordinators of the LSF:
Appointed Guardians of Liber-er, the stash: Co-Ordinator of Alliance Security: Golddisk Co-Ordinator of Foreign Affairs: Palachinov Co-Ordinator of Economics: Pacifist Ninja Co-Ordinator of War Preparation: Senhart Co-Ordinator of Military: Trikoupis Public Announcer of the LSF: The Mongol-Swedes
Oh yeah, and Palchy wanted everyone to know that it's totally not OK to eat too many hash cakes in our Diplomatic Lounge. You may think you've got strong stuff in your nation but, seriously, we've been growing this stuff for over four years running.
19.
I remember working with ICON and LSF on Pink unity when I was in RAD. They are decent folk. Good to see the pink sphere unity. Now if pink could see some growth ...that would be amazing.Good show :)edit:TCB is multicoloured. They stopped being just a pink alliance about a year ago.
Hey Caliph! Nice to see you, too. It's been steady work steering Pink back in the right direction, and I'm sure I speak for all of the Black Guards when I say that we're especially pleased with this positive development in our home sphere.

For the everyday man and woman (or however you self-identify) to have a fine excuse to sit down, unplug the phone, and let their boss know who's really in charge. Many, like the Black Guards, see this as another great excuse to take to the streets all across Bob and spark up the best and brightest of our world-famous bumper crop, in broad daylight, in defiance of those who sought to wipe us from the face of the planet. Now, personally, I think it's been a fantastic experience to be but a small part of the four-year legacy of the LSF. Lately you've seen a lot of old alliances coming back. Even /b/'s come back to grace the Cyberverse with their presence. Whoda thunk it? Nevertheless, few great alliances can claim to have overcome the odds like we have. I don't mean to brag; the wiki page does more than enough of that, and I'll let our allies tell you we're not the sort to ever back down from a challenge. But, what the hell, I'm Pink and I'm proud. To all of those who have helped us achieve this milestone... We're still here, we're still high as !@#$, and we ain't going anywhere but higher and higher... ¡Libertad o Muerte!
22. It's not often that I get to do announcements like these. As the foremost party-hardy anarchist alliance on Bob coming up on four especially nasty years of uncool customers trying to kill our buzz, we've been pretty content to ride out the great wars and other curious political entanglements that have resulted in a lot of wholly unnecessary (if otherwise madly desired by the bored masses) drama and broken friendships, committing ourselves solely to fighting for those who have truly proven their willingness to stick by us when The Man comes and snatches up our stash. I'm pretty happy - could just be this new tree I sparked up a while ago - to announce that we've found some other pretty chill guys to pass the spliff with, and keep things interesting for us when we're not tending to the crop. We've had a pretty ok time with them here and there in the past, and though we were a little suspicious - call it 'guarded paranoia', or whatever feels right - when we began seeing a few new faces, they've proven they're no narcs, for sure. To our old main man Mak and his fellow Centurions (past and present), I salute you as a former comrade-in-arms, and with the signing of this sweet pact, a comrade re-affirmed, I welcome you to get down with this sick !@#$. Non-Aggression No member nation of either alliance will declare war on any member nation of the other, provide aid, be it military, money, technology, knowledge and intelligence, to enemies of the other, or commit acts of espionage against the other. Friendship The signatory alliances and their members will treat each other with as much respect and decency as they would their own members. Alliance members are expected to show tact and consideration when addressing any grievances by making full use of proper diplomatic channels. Any and all information gathered by one of the signatories with potential impact on the security of the other must be privately forwarded to them within 24 hours upon receiving the information. All parts of said information must be disclosed, including its' sources. Mutual Intelligence The signatory alliances will refrain from any intelligence gathering or active intelligence operation, including, but not limited, to obtaining information from private forums, IRC channels, or through the use of former or current members of the other. Each signatory alliance will provide to the other any offers of said intelligence or active operations made by any third party. Mutual Defense An attack on one signatory alliance will be considered as an attack on both and shall be treated as such by the other signatory. Military assistance must be given within 48 hours of the official recognition of state of war by the signatory under attack or official appeal for assistance by the said signatory, may it be public or private. In the event either signatory declares war via activation of a clause from another treaty, and therefore requests the other signatory's assistance after coming under attack, the mandatory defense is then considered optional defense. Optional Aggression In the event that either signatory should choose to initiate aggression against a third party, the aggressor signatory may request any level of support deemed necessary from the other signatory. However, the other signatory has full sovereignty over their involvement in any aggressive act on the behalf of the initial aggressor. Withdrawal The present treaty is concluded in perpetuity, with the provision that both signatory alliances will become unbound from the terms of this treaty 24 hours after notice of its termination for cause is given in the form of a public announcement from a duly elected or appointed leader of the withdrawing signatory alliance , to be posted on the board of the Cybernations Forums and the respective forums of the signatory alliances. A minimum of 24 hours notice must be provided in private to the leadership of the signatory alliances prior to the public announcement of the termination of this agreement. Both signatories are highly encouraged to seek the diplomatic solution of the problem before the termination of the agreement. Violations of this agreement are grounds for dissolution of this agreement without prior notice.
