1. It's very intriguing to see how this turned out. As someone who was close to the old TGE during the time of CPCN, seeing the new TGE as a protected alliance by the Nordreich is, naturally, a very odd development. Of course, almost nothing remains the same. Hell, in the LSF's time you'd be surprised to see how many titantic power entities have risen and fallen. I have to admit, I've got mixed feelings about this. Some borne out of idiotic nostalgia, others out of enduring, validated skepticism, and years of watching iron-clad vows of trust and honor rust away into dust and blood spilt by a knife in the back. But then again, it really is too early to tell just what will come of this. The best anyone can say of this is that the Nordreich really are showing some commendable determination in claiming the mantle of Germanic Brotherhood with this act. Best of luck to Wilhelm I. And the LSF will, of course, pretty much not care of what goes on beyond its liberated frontiers.
2. Doing it for over five years now? Shoot, we must be doing something right...
3. Splitting may be an unfortunate curse of the Left; then again, like any good friendship, sometimes you need a little space in order to strengthen your bonds. I'm personally very pleased to announce that the Socialist Workers Front and Libertarian Socialist Federation have signed a fantastic Mutual Defense Pact that formalizes the deep bond of friendship that runs between our general memberships, as well as our common cause as supporters of the fundamental Leftist ideals of Liberty, Democracy and Transparency.
The Unity in Diversity Mutual Defense Pact Preamble As an affirmation of their mutual trust and friendship, the Socialist Workers Front(SWF) and the Libertarian Socialist Federation/Black Guards(LSF/BG) consent to the following articles of non-aggression and mutual defense: Article I - Sovereignty The sovereignty of each signatory is inviolable and absolute. Article II - Non-Aggression Member nations of one signatory may not declare war against member nations of the other, render or provide assistance of any kind to the enemies of the other, or commit espionage of any kind against the other. Where ambiguity exists, the letter and the spirit of the treaty will dominate. Article III - Mutual Intelligence Information beneficial to both signatories is to be freely exchanged. Knowledge of threats agaibst one signatory must be disclosed to the other immediately. In times of war, both signatories will share operational intelligence conducive to the prosecution of said war. Article IV - Mutual Defense An attack against one signatory is an attack against both. Military assistance must be rendered to the signatory under attack within 48 hours of an official appeal by the signatory in duress whether said petition is delivered publically or privately. Article V - Withdrawal Either signatory may withdraw from this treaty at any time with the provision that the withdrawing party give an official representative of the other at least 48 hours notice prior. Article II will remain active for a grace period of 48 hours following the termination of this treaty. 4. The folly of empires. Always trying to claim the mantles from one another. Of course, anyone who takes the time to crack open a few history wikis, ask the principals involved what the real story is (while ignoring the emotional outbursts from the OWF bandwagoners), and other simple methods of self-education, can understand why Nordreich has such a huge issue with a TGE revival. Hell, I can understand why, even as someone who fought NoR 1.0 and its various degenerate incarnations before their present revival in the crucible of the KARMA War. The most important lesson that people can take away from this is that one must be ever so mindful of the history of our world, whenever you are considering anything from reforming alliances with troubled pasts, to speaking as an outsider from the sidelines in the peanut gallery; One can argue the validity of a point but, ultimately, it is our actions, past and present, that will win out in the end. Case in point: Nordreich sure had a hell of a legacy to make up for, and a lot to prove. And here they are, doing well, by most standards. I can safely say that whoever is principally behind the neo-TGE has come to the world stage with what some might consider a mediocre understanding of the real significance of reforming TGE. I would've suggested exploring diplomatic measures before making a grand announcement of the fact and failing to really grasp the kind of hard work it takes to build an alliance already tarnished nearly beyond redemption. The argument has been laid out in very clear terms by Nordreich as to their objections to this development. They are exercising their political will to exact those objections. There is nothing left to be said by anyone else on the matter, unless they should decide to declare their determined opposition to either the reformation of TGE (most likely by picking a raid target and having at it) or by the support of TGE's reformation either by joining their cause or exercising their will to stop the naysayers. Anything else really is a waste.
5. My sentiments exactly...oh. Well, I just hope that the SOS can see the friendship we've had bubbling up for them and how it's gone to waste. Like a good water bong. Or good champagne. Or soda pop.
6. As anyone who has ever been allied to the LSF over our five plus years can tell you, we're not the sort to run from a fight when our comrades ask for our help. This is the level of respect we give virtually unconditionally. It's a big part of who we are, and why we have managed to survive and thrive, despite the very best efforts of our biggest detractors. Naturally, we would expect the same level of respect in return. It explains, to some degree, why we've been historically conservative in the field of foreign affairs. You see, we exist for ourselves, as Libertarians charting an independent course in the world, and we fight like hell for our friends who respect our desire to stay out of the big wars that only benefit vast, generally undemocratic empires whom we have nothing in common with. It's a tall order, and one that we're happy to fulfill for our allies a hundred times over. Recently, with our re-evaluation of our relationship with the SOS, we realized that this respect wasn't mutual. When it became clear that, despite the misadventures in global politics that were playing out, we were expected to more or less just go along with things; when our reputation as a never-say-die alliance was simply taken for granted, we began to doubt the seriousness of the SOS Brigade's amicability and friendship. When the intention of our downgrade was to serve notice that we felt this way (and the downgrade was by no means the first such notice) was mistaken as the LSF cutting and running, our suspicions were confirmed in clear, black-and-white terms. Be it hereby known that the LSF has moved to suspend its formal obligations with the SOS Brigade. We tried to retain our friendship, and the SOS peed in the cheerios, for the last time. Only time can tell what the future will make of this, and I sincerely wish the general membership of the SOS luck in charting a prosperous course forward.
7. I am extremely pleased to see the SWF flourishing again, and the UCR making good progress. Sometimes good Leftists are like good room-mates: sometimes a little space goes a long way in making us stronger friends.
8. Right. There's a lot to get to, so I'll keep this brief, er, brief? First, there's been a recent change in the Co-Ordinators. We are mixed in our response to the recent announcement that Golddisk has resigned as the Co-Ordinator of Alliance Security but, delighted to have quickly replaced him with Blackguard420, who resigned as the Public Announcer. Upon my recent return from the Peoples Front of Judea, I agreed to take up my old post as the Public Announcer, proving that even well-meaning anarchist alliances can falter from a little demagogy now and then. Let it be known that my hatred for Romans has never faltered, only my intolerance of splitters; it is, in fact, stronger than ever. May the PFJ find the wisdom to cease this splitting nonsense and return to the fold. Fresh cookies will be waiting. In foreign affairs: We and our friends in the SOS Brigade have recently reviewed the state of our relationship, and it has been concluded that the mutual defense nature of our treaty no longer suits us; this has been downgraded to an optional obligation, and our friendship and amicability remains, as ever. This hereby concludes the Black Brief. Commentary, questions and public discourse may now follow, in accordance with Admin's Will. Regards, M-S Public Announcer of the Libertarian Socialist Federation/Black Guards and the Voice of Liberty
9. Congrats go especially to the Bicycle Repairmen of the Front. Their tireless sort are what the PFJ is all about. Splitting, too.
10. Lines being drawn...or that could just be the Arabic subtitles on this latest production. Happy days for the JAMA and the SOS.
11. This race for the !@#$%* jobs of the LSF, to be one of the few and proud people who get screamed at largely for things either happening too fast, too slow, or even happening at all, was surprisingly pretty hotly contested. Naturally, the job of organizing a direct-democratic society can be pretty demanding, so I am personally pleased to see a number of new faces stepping into the role, keeping things fresh and, relatively speaking, keeping folks from going over the jaded edge. As the LSF's longest serving Co-Ordinator-type-person, I am pleased to bring you all the next Co-Ordinators of the LSF/BG:
The Co-Ordinators of the Libertarian Socialist Federation / Black Guards Co-Ordinator of Alliance Security: Golddisk Co-Ordinator of Foreign Affairs: AggressiveNutmeg Co-Ordinator of Economics: Comrade Trotsky Co-Ordinator of War:Skinz Public Announcer of the LSF: The Mongol-Swedes

12.
Frost: you have no class. Good riddance to a petty spoilsport who took his grievances public rather than respecting the will of the democratic majority. -Craig
Perhaps the process of having your grievances addressed as an alienated minority would be a good next step for INT. Afterall, a majority-rules democracy is hardly equal and fair when enough people are dissatisfied. And I remember Frost as a classy individual over the years. Just a friendly suggestion, Comrade. I wish you and INT all the best.
13. It seems that the Social Democrats outlasted the Empire. What a shame. I really had fun working with TGE in my brief time amongst the International in its early days. Here's to a fine bunch. Good luck, Deutschlanders.
14. In an effort to slash senseless bureaucracy and other nasty trappings of the governing, the Delegates Council have consolidated two Co-Ordinator positions into one. Unfortunately, the natural side-effect of this was the added time it took to decide on the name of the new role, resulting in these things never being announced. The coincidental relationship between this occurance and the massive shortage of red and black dye, however, is hardly any relation at all, and the LSF Broadcast Service has been pressed by the Delegates to clarify this issue. To that end, I am now pleased to bring you the next Co-Ordinators of the Libertarian Socialist Federation/Black Guards; And, we've also got a lovely bit of breaking news. In a blow to the lolcommie detractors who said we'd never, ever make it (here's looking at you, VZ!) past dawn, the LSF has made the 2 million milestone.
15. To the Union of Communist Republics and the Jamahiriya, I say congratulations in taking this first crucial step in forming a bond of trust. We here at the LSF recognize the significance of the ODP as a feel-it-out step, and look forward to good things coming of it. And, for the record, religion can have a place in a socialist society when the coercive elements of a repressive society, masquerading as a religious one, are checked or outright eliminated by a workers democracy that espouses freedom of conscience, without the 'freedom' to oppress others as defined within your own particular worldview. The Mongol-Swedes endorse no particular religion but, have taken no measures to outlaw any of its practices that do not interfere with the social liberties of our comrades.
16. Recently, some pretty decent folks came to us and sought a little bit of advice. That quickly turned into something a little more than what we initially thought we'd be getting ourselves into but, well, the little guys really grew on us. Even anarchists have a soft side. With that in mind, I hereby announce, on behalf of the Delegates Council of the LSF, that the United Sovereign Federation is under the protection of the Black Guards. We look forward to getting them on their feet, and on their way to a bright future.
17. Another tumultuous period in LSF's dramatic history as scandal rocks the Delegates Council. 'Government' computers were found to contain scores of gigabytes of hard-core anime videos, pictures, and other related files that, until previously, were not to be found anywhere outside of the SOS Brigade's member states, contravening numerous international trade embargoes and morality laws. When asked by this reporter to explain the outrage, an un-named insider provided me with this damning document:
I Went To Akihabara Again, Searching For Anarchists And I Got Another Of Those Stupid Flags A Treaty of Mutual Defense and Optional Aggression === Article I - Peace === The SOS Brigade (SOS) and the Libertarian Socialist Federation (LSF) agree to remain respectful and polite to each other in all channels of communication, public or private. They also resolve to seek diplomatic means to any possible conflicts they may have. Both alliances should look out for each others well-being. As a consequence of their mutual friendship, both parties agree not to attack each other for any reason. In the event of a treaty conflict that would draw the two into war with each other, this article will take precedence. === Article II - Intelligence === Should either party receive information that pertains to the safety or well-being of the other signatory, they will seek to make it known to that signatory. Also, if either signatory has any reason to believe a security breach exists in the other alliance they are to present this concern and any evidence to their other signatory. Additionally, both parties agree not to commit espionage against each other. === Article III - War === Both signatories agree to defend the other by any means necessary in the event that an aggressive war is initiated by a third party; upon the request of the attacked signatory, defense is mandatory. Signatories are not required to do so, however, if the other has been attacked for fulfilling another treaty. In the event of such defense "chaining," defense is optional though encouraged. Should a signatory wish to commit to an offensive war, they may request aid and the other signatory is encouraged, but not obligated, to go to war with them. === Article IV - Cancellation === In the unlikely event either signatory wishes to cancel this agreement, they are to give 48 hours' notice to the other party with reasons through private channels. This treaty will remain in effect throughout that time period. === Signed for the Libertarian Socialist Federation === The Delegates Council === Signed for the SOS Brigade === Arrnea, Brigade Chief and Ultra Director, Viceroy of the Computer Research Society, Cosplay Champion, Wielder of Unlimited Cynic Works, Originator of Paranoia, Dispenser of Ire, Lord of Delusion, Bunny Girl Extraordinaire, Master of Endless Recursions, Owner of the Frog Suit, Speaker of the Word of Haruhi, Enforcer of Her Will and All-Round Prophet of the One True Goddess Locke, Esper and Mysterious Transfer Student of the SOS Brigade, All Around Nice Guy, Speaker for the Purple Sphere, Resident Azu-nyan, Empress of All Things Feline, Wielder of the Nekomimi, Catgirl Wonder, Enemy of Fun Myrrh-nee~, Time Traveller and Brigade Mascot, Resident Fujoshi, Queen of Sexiness, Angel of Insanity, and Mistress of the Ero Bernkastel, Alien Supercomputer and Meganekko of the SOS Brigade, Official Trollwitch, Unabashed Narcissist, Destroyer of Moeblobs and Lolis, Lover of Shota Utracia, Ordinary Human and Errand Boy, Fox Deity, Breeder of Yandere, Destroyer of Worlds, Corrupter of the Innocent
18.
Congrats on Peace but David Lynch's Dune, Oh The Humanity!
Even worse when MCXA doesn't have access to our stash. Liberty can be a cruel mistress. Happy to help, INT. We'll see you at the next showdown.
19. Right, like the NpO would ever seek our friendship. That would actually lend some credence to this eloquent appeal but, then again, the Black Guards aren't fighting Polaris. We're not fighting even the MCXA. We're defending our comrades, with whom we hold an unbreakable bond with (notice a lack of a cancellation clause in our treaty), against anyone, be it Polaris, Farkistan, MK, you-name-it. Don't try to confuse our intentions with your pathetic, opportunistic pleas. If NpO wanted our friendship, they should've done what only the Byzantium Empire (now defunct) had the courage to do. They should've appealed for peace the way NATO did for us. But the inaction of NpO in all of these times is a crime equal to the crime of actually committing the acts of aggression against the LSF in the first place. Looks like your empire is crumbling, as all empires do. But as hegemonies rise and fall, the People, United, will never be defeated.
20. Years ago, on a bitterly cold St. Patricks Day weekend <ooc>for those of you in the American Northeast</ooc>, the powers-that-be willed us to cease existing. Yet here we are, sticking close to our allies, never failing to honor our treaties, and waging an effective war on a global scale alongside our beloved spawn, the International, and waging war against a capable allaince like the MCXA. We thank the MCXA for giving us this opportunity, and look forward to an engaging and curiously amicable war of class, color, and pixels. ¡Libertad o Muérte!
21. The Black Guards are pleased to have formed this bond with the Brigade. For the record, though, we had nothing to do with the 'stupid' flag.
22. Not an easy statement to make these days, what with this here peanut gallery. As your allies, we here of the Black Guards respect your decision.
23. With regards to the aforementioned hook-line-and-sinker title, that too, is a fallacy. What is clear, however, is that we recently lost a fine member of our Co-Ordinators, Scooby, the Co-Ordinator of Foreign Affairs who, though serving a brief tenure as a guy with a big title that really meant nothing, was another awesome contributor to the oldest alliance on the Hottest Sphere alive. Scoob, you'll be missed, brother. And with that, allow me to introduce the new Co-Ordinators of the LSF for the period,
The Co-Ordinators of the Libertarian Socialist Federation / Black Guards Co-Ordinator of Alliance Security: Golddisk Co-Ordinator of Foreign Affairs: Aftalia Co-Ordinator of Economics: Jack Straw Co-Ordinator of War Preparation: Senhart and Trikoupis Co-Ordinator of Military: Defender Public Announcer of the LSF: The Mongol-Swedes
