1. Well i guess its a different way of interpreting it.. I wouldn't see GPA stepping in as them siding with TDO.. I wouldn't expect to see a post that said, 'hey we're defending TDO because they're neutral like us'. I would see it as stopping a threat before it becomes to big to stop, as standing up for the right to be neutral. I bet TDO in the past had little trouble keeping the few rogues that wanted to hit neutrals at bay. Now its (according to gophers stats) 51 experienced and well prepared nations. 51 Nations wouldn't be a HUGE problem for GPA, but next time it might be 150 nations hitting GPA. And sure warchests help a lot, but no amount of preparation saves anyone against a superior and more experienced foe. Anyway, you see it as leaving neutrality, I don't. But then you are in GPA and I'm not :P Whatever GPA does is GPA's choice and of little worry to me.. Though I am/was curious about how this is viewed within GPA so thanks for your reply :)
2. I think I said the same thing.. Only that I feel it would not be about protecting TDO, but about protecting the right to have the neutral philosophy. Someone else might on a later date though if they just let it happen.. this time its a bunch of rogues hitting TDO next time it might be an alliance IRON's size hitting GPA to divert attention away from a political situation (like as many believe the Dave war was to divert attention from the NoR/LSF situation). That was what i wanted to know from jerdge (or any other neutral) is it a neutral philosophy (which would not be an obstacle against MQ who are technically just rogues) or is it a semi-pacifist philosophy of not fighting unless attacked. Whats the rush? Am I wrong in assuming you guys wont run out of steam after a few days of fighting TDO?
3. I know we tried to get neutrals involved when the beer-o-sphere was at its lowest, it would have been the only way to get the needed numbers in the toptier, but I don't think anyone in any of the involved alliances their governments was shocked or mad about the neutrals not getting involved. It was a long shot but as alliance leader you would be failing if you don't try everything even longshots to get out of a curbstomp. This however is not about choosing sides or getting involved in the daily dealings of the warminded alliances, this is about an alliance being attacked simply for being neutral. One would think every neutral alliance out there should think twice before using the term neutral to not get involved this time.
4. Assuming there are only alliances out there who want to participate in next war rather than trample on some mushies.. Jerdge, I admit I have had ... well I don't think I had any contact with neutrals during my time on this world apart from a random query here or there maybe about rumors or a member switching alliances. So forgive me if my idea of what neutrals are or think they are aren't completely in line with what you actually are. I think it was you who once said, GPA was neutral, not pacifist. Which has a difference. For me I always considered the Neutral alliances neutral but not pacifist (after all you practiced ghostbusting and defend yourself against rogues). For me that means you don't interfere in the political maneuvering on this world. You don't pick sides, you don't support one wartime coalition over another. All valid choices and as long as I've been in R&R, we have (apart from the usual jokes every alliance makes that its time to roll some neutrals) always seen neutrality as a right, we even referred plenty of people towards you and WTF over the years, if they hated war to such an extend that they did not participate, we can't really use them and a neutral alliance is a good solution for them. Anyway, as said being neutral is not being pacifist, MQ chose their target well, statwise they're about even, but the untrained unprepared nations of TDO will not stand a chance against MQ's war veterans, that according to their statements really have nothing to lose, anyone that ever fought MK (and thus the MQ nations) will agree that they might be many things but not terrible at war. Now some alliances might consider neutrality a valid choice and thus might be willing to help out purely based on the defense of every alliance freedom to chose their path.. that said, TDO has been attacked for the simple reason of being an easy neutral target. MQ has no ties to the rest of the world and thus no possibility of making this into some big political game. I can not see this any other way than the neutral lifestyle being under attack. Can you or anyone else for that matter give me and others 1 good reason to help out TDO without the big neutrals (GPA/WTF) being the first in line to defend the neutral way of life. Granted, I understand it will be a tough choice to make for both alliances to interfere, one I don't expect to be made in a single second.. but really if those 2 alliances aren't willing to defend the neutral way of life, why should anyone else. And in that line of thinking, why should anyone think twice next time about using an attack on a neutral alliance just to shift focus off of a war they can't win (assuming enough alliances out there would like to hit neutrals enough to make that happen). So really my question isn't will GPA help out TDO, my question is, how can you not.
5. Well, we have had some time to discuss the issue. No one had any experience with shipwrecks, so we did the logical thing.. we decided to have a titanic marathon. And after watching the same ship sink a few dozen times. We discovered there is one thing you can't go without if you want to survive a shipwreck. Leonardo di Caprio! It's always good to have someone you can kick into the cold water to free up some space for your own survival. Therefor R&R invites NATO to join us in the race for the captains lifeboat.
6. Though it is cliche, the only words that come to mind are sad but necessary. CSN, we have had a blast as superfriends with you at our side, sadly over the last year or so, more and more problems piled up and it was hard to see such an ally steadily decline. I wish you guys all the best in Invicta.
7. And good news, the day they actually disband, you get to say it again! Congrats on the new addition.
8. Oh look, Rush being a moron, must be monday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday/friday/saturday/sunday.
9. Doubtful.. unless you find a way to grow 100K NS or something.
10. You have been warned, you chose to ignore it. You have been told why you're under attack. You wont listen. You have been told terms, you not agreeing does not mean we walk away. You have one thing right though, CN rules do not forbid you to use the name. Nor do they forbid us to keep you under attack. So guess we'll be seeing each other for a while.
11. You can't believe I failed? That's a first.
12. yeah.. this alliance has a long life ahead of it. You know your terms, we can keep this up all year.
13. If only you weren't so set on worshiping rocks.. we could have been done ages ago :P
14. Welcome to this historic announcement! I'm honored to be selected to announce the best kept secret in CN to all of you, never before has a secret been so well kept on all of planet Bob. But just because we felt like spreading the joy, we have decided to release this secret and make it known to the world. So without anymore delays, I present to you all! (inb4: I knew about this hours/days/weeks/months/years ago)
15. I'm gonna nominate Loki, just for making me agree with RV. Also, I tip my hat to all of you that can still separate the terrible posters, for me they have become one big blob of combined fail easiest to just ignore.
16. Oh how times change, let's hope this will turn into a long and prosperous relationship :) O/ Valhalla
17. Congrats to the elected! Now can someone lock that door of the insane asylum?
18. Good job kata, you killed the sanction race..
19. GOONs.... :O there's someone in CN who doesn't have the set yet? :P Welcome to the OWF, first visit HMS? :P Polar really isn't GATO... their terrible tech ratios, make sure they have WRC's and MP's lower than most other alliances, they will take double losses because of the 6 v 1 for half a round and then BF1's nukes will have ran out. It's been a while that i fought polar, but i'm gonna say most of their nations probably still have decent to good warchests. And we all know you would wait 2 months, most people/alliances fight the war from the start though, not 3 days after its over <_<
20. Ours was a bit of a disappointment :P
