1. Oy, 7 --> 6 is a decrease in rations.... We want food!!!
2. <-- has played TE before. Don't know and don't give a **** about the "gentlemen's agreements" that are apparently perverting the "stronger" alliances in TE. Just because some of us have played doesn't mean we know anything about the "convention" that apparently "govern civilized alliances" in TE....
3. Yup, same. It's also kinda of creepy how skills I've learned in playing CN carry over into RL. Ie, how to deal and manage people in CN directly carries into RL.... You learn things a LOT faster in CN with no consequences. Plus, since people are generally less inhibited, it's a LOT easier to know what's "wrong" and what's right.
4. Probably paying bills without labor camps?
5. Without any background info on what the purpose of the site is, your typical internet user isn't going to have a clue how to use the site...
6. Before when I logged in, I could see on the nation page how many days taxes I haven't collected yet. Now, I can't see how many days taxes I have saved up without looking at the Collect Taxes page first. Could we please have that added to the nation page again? It makes it easy to know how many days I have saved up for a back collection. Thanks.
7. The end result either way is that TOP/Umbrella got white peace. What matters is the end result, not the words and bluster behind them. It's a matter of principle. We need not play by your rules, !@#$%* and twisted as they are. See my response to trimm. Oh, and for the record, NPO was not plotting a war against Polar.
8. EQ was the shoe being on the other foot for TOP/Umbrella and the only term that ended up passing the table was white peace.
9. For Pacifica, it has been 4 emperors since Moo was Emperor (Cortath, Mary, Brehon, Farrin). Together, these 4 emperors have been in leadership more than 1.5 times the duration of Moo's reign as Emperor. Each Emperor is motivated by different things and has a different set of goals that they want to accomplish in their time as Emperor. Without having been under their leadership OR seen/understood the changes each Emperor has brought to the alliance, I'm afraid your analysis looking from the outside is woefully incomplete, despite you speaking with a member of low level government in NPO with said member not having been a member of the Praetorian Guard. Nearly half a decade has gone by since Moo's reign, Tywin. Many of the organizations within NPO have been forced to restructure and reorganize in the wake of declining membership for greater efficiency or because of changes in policies and thought processes. The way you speak of Pacifica implies that the real power behind the Emperor and the alliance is Praetorian Guard, which is not the case. The Praetorian Guard is, but one department of many in Pacifica and is responsible for specific tasks as outlined in our wiki page (with additional duties assigned as needed by the head of the department).
10. Clearly, you haven't been UNDERSTANDING Jesse's responses to you. Different alliances have different NS decay rates while at war. If you used your brains at all to analyze stats, you would realize that there's a reason aside from peace mode that has resulted in differing NS decay rates of NPO and her allies. But meh, most people don't like using their brains, so they pick one reason and stick with it, even if the response variable one is trying to measure consists of multiple explanatory variables interacting with each other. Oh, yeah, you forgot option 4. It's called giving NPO and friends white peace. *Shrugs* We're already down 9 million NS, so it's not like we haven't been reduced, you know...
11. That's war, where you can fight back. Jesse's talking terms, the thing that concludes a war. There's no doubt that FAN has endured the longest war ever and we've taken our lumps for that and made our peace with FAN. NPO has now been offered the worst set of terms EVER, at a bare minimum almost equal to the terms we accepted to conclude the Armageddon War (reparations of 10 billion in cash and 350k tech from our super 1k tech nation), at a maximum beyond 3 fold those terms (forced peace mode during peace time for 35 nations with an estimated lost aid capacity of 17 to 27 billion, DISCOUNTING the lost income to said nations ON TOP of the lost income to other NPO nations due to inability for aid flows to rebuild those nations.
12. /me rolls his eyes. If banks were as useless as you claimed they are, nobody would be gunning for NPO's shitty banks in the first place. Think this is like the third or fourth war in my time in CN where a coalition has gone with KILL PACIFICA'S BANKS OR ELSE... /me yawns. Let us know when the OR ELSE arrives.
13. I mildly disagree. Tank costs is a function of solider costs first. There's nothing to say that there can't be additional modifiers on top of that. Ie, infra costs is a linear function with jumps, but is affected by additional modifiers in the form of trades, improvements, and wonders, each of which is counted as a seperate modifer.
14. Not a bug. Weapons Research Complex - $150,000,000 - Increases the technology bonus to damage from 0.01% to 0.02% per technology level, Increases the number of nukes that can be purchased per day to 2, hurts environment by +1, Increases the purchase costs of all military by 0.01% per technology level. Requires 8,500 infrastructure, 2,000 technology, National Research Lab, Pentagon Wonder. See the bit in bold. You have a WRC, which inreases military costs by 0.01% per technology level. You have 33,500.24 technology, which means a multipler of 4.350024 (335% more costs --> 4.35 multipler) You have 5 factories, which reduces costs by 50%. $34.8 * 40 = 1392 * 4.35 * (1 - 0.5) = 3027.616704 My answer is within ~1 penny of your actual costs.
15. Under 10% of Umbrella is in peace mode... You may want to hire a new Stats person to fill you in on the details. 8/82 of Umbrella are in peace mode.
16.
It would be stupid for AIs side to let this war end in a stalemate. Even if Umb's sides upper tier proves to be too much; AIs side needs to continue the war by peacing their top tier and annihilating those selling tech to Umbrellas upper tier. That way they can have their upper tiers catch up by choking off Umbrellas "supply line"
Annihiliating the lower tiers doesn't affect the supply line. Just adds complexity to how to keep the supply line open and still moving tech and in fact, increases potential supply by increasing the number of potential sellers.
17. I think you guys missed the point of all this. It's clearly to test drive out NPO's newest General's capabilities. He was promoted 4 weeks ago if anybody cares, which matches the 30 days prior notice.
18.
When is the DoW?
In like 20 minutes or so. Just hold onto your buttocks already, Geez.
19.
When does it start? Friday night?
October 11, 2012 is when it'll start. We'll be fighting <CENSORED>, . Edit: Hmm, that's odd. It got filtered, o.O. Edit 2: Yes, I'm messing with your mind.
20. On behalf of King Masher (CN ID: 256056), I'm posting his surrender to NPO.
21.
Is NG fighting all these alliances alone? Congrats!
• The Templar Knights: 12.52 --> 11.86 (-0.66) / -26.0% cumulative (NG Solo) • Random Insanity Alliance: 9.66 --> 9.67 (+0.01) / -35.2% cumulative (NG Solo) • Global Order Of Darkness: 9.69 --> 9.57 (-0.12) / -28.3% cumulative (NG + NPO) • The Apparatus: 7.73 --> 7.67 (-0.06) / -33.3% cumulative (NG + NF + MK + TOP) • AGW Overlords: 3.54 --> 3.49 (-0.05) / -53.8% cumulative (NG Solo) • Bal Masqué: 3.16 --> 3.12 (-0.04) / -21.8% cumulative (NG Solo) • Unita Societatem: 0.90 --> 0.85 (-0.05) / -6.6% cumulative (NG Solo) You also have Umbrella with a vague DoW against all enemy upper tiers.
22.
Aw hell, my comments made the papers. Now people will know how crazy I am.
Eh, we all know you're utterly insane, Mael, .
23. It's a matter of from WHICH alliance's perspective are you looking through. A and C have a treaty B and D have a treaty A --> B (A is aggressive, B is defensive) D --> A C --> D D's Attack on A Perspective A: A is defensive, D is aggressive (D is attacking A) Perspective B: A is aggressive, D is defensive (treaty activation with D) Perspective C: D is aggressive, A is defensive (D is attacking A) Perspective D: A is aggressive, D is defensive (treaty activation with B) C's Attack on D Perspective A: C is defensive, D is aggressive (treaty activation with C) Perspective B: C is aggressive, D is defensive (C is attacking D) Perspective C: C is defensive, D is aggressive (treaty activation with A) Perspective D: C is aggressive, D is defensive (C is attacking D) Now at the OWF level, it depends which side is favored. If the OWF favors say side A, they will view things through A's perspective. Therefore, option C (Both/neither/it's more nuanced than that (describe in post).) is correct. HOWEVER, option D (this e-lawyering is irrelevant; it's whatever the strongest parties decides it is) is also correct.
24. I agree with Zeta. Daveshroom Affair sounds best, .
25.
I would be THRILLED with you making your direction clear to the world anytime that you like, if your position made one frakking ounce of sense to start with. What I said, and what I will continue to say, is that if you intended to support TLR regardless of your feelings about the CB, then you should have taken the smartest political position that said feelings about said CB left you and kept those feelings confined to private channels. Because coming out on the OWF with such a shamelessly ridiculous stance does nothing except open you up to hard feelings from one side and ridicule from the other. What then have you accomplished for yourselves?
Orly? If I'm not mistaken, our good friends in TLR are PERFECTLY happy with us posting this thread and they KNOW our feelings about the situation. In addition, most of the responses so far have been positive, understanding of our position, AND NOT !@#$%*ing. Damn, I'm amazed. For crying out loud, Farrin's already stated that even MK knows that we're not happy with their CB.
You can ask any of our allies what we thought about this war, starting yesterday morning when we were notified it was a possibility. Ask TLR what we told them. Hell, ask your good friends at MK what Brehon told them, prior to the DoW. We made no bones the entire day about our condemnation of this CB and MK with it, and this announcement is to let the whole world know what we told many people privately. Why'd we do that? Exactly so idiots like you can't come on here and say we're being two-faced. Oh well, keep on living in that quaint little reality you call Umbrella.
Read the stuff in bold carefully. So, yeah, where's the hard feelings? Who's being hurt by us stating our position? Umbrella? Surely the giant titan with unbelievable amounts of technology isn't intimidated by an alliance with the lowest Average Nation Strength of all the sanctioned alliances in the game? Edit: Clarification and spelling
