  1. Sorry, trying to put the point across that its what anyone would normally do when provoked. You know, do something tangible about it. I answer most of your questions and you simply change the question or get a little snitty. And its hard enough to answer anything when all I've heard you say is, "That mean and nasty 'ol Kaiser, twied to tell me who to put in my alliance but I outsmarted him. He's a paranoid weglomaniac I tells you" - yes, hard to do anything with a straight face in this thread.
  2. Again, in accordance to the wishes of others, I'll intervene here again. I heard it in passing and discussed it with Fred. This was a gross error of judgment on part because I normally never spoke to him about speculation but only things that had some logical probability. I dismissed it as not even I couldn stretch my mind around that one. But as Valdemar said to me: He is quite correct. As one of the main conduits to Fred, being that he was away for the summer, I would send reports on to him about how TGE were faring and this was basically tacked on as a footnote. He obviously took it at face value. I'm normally a lot more conscientious about things. I have apologized about this to RoA, here in this thread and on private channels. It was a most hurtful rumor about someone who had given much time, energy and passion for the cause of the Empire and I should not have humored it. It made my position untenable and I am heartened by the fact that RoA are willing to move on and start talking again. For that reason, I see some hope for the future if such overtures are acted upon as I believe they will be. On other matters that persist in this thread: Ivan, I mentioned to you that this was obviously a hack job as Mada has confirmed. GraniteKnight has got his wish so I think it best you take the sound advice offered by RoA and leave this now for private channels. It might be the only way it gets resolved. La Hire I know quite well and he is a very understanding guy. I was part of the initial discussion group engaged in setting up a deal with the EU. He offered funding, I accepted. They are a neutral alliance and their protectorate was more complex than others that I was dealing with - there is no doubt that it needs to be revised but that is not for me to argue about anymore. The blackout, as I mentioned before, needs to end. My way is not the best way for TGE and I think everyone realizes that now. RoA are sincere and gracious in their offer and I can but hope it turns a corner. I wish them the best with that. As for the attacks on Fred - to be honest, from my understanding of the man, he couldn't care less. I don't think he is going to address any of the criticism repeated ad nauseam in this thread. I think he will act on the RoA offer. If I don't like somebody in RL, I give them a smack in the mouth. In a game, go ahead and try to ZI his alliance. But all this standing behind a wall and throwing taunts back and forth - well at this stage, it looks like a Mod edited my post because it was inappropriate.
  3. My Nation Check again and then alliance seniority. I have my own side these days and it isn't a very popular or populated place but I seem to be managing ok. And I'm not criticizing you only lending a hand to this winsome debate. If you are the chosen flakman for TGE than I commend your efforts or if you are simply baiting people, you'll have hours of fun awaiting you. You should really just sit down and talk to them as ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away. If that doesn't work, then just go about your business. I have never been a fan of blackouts as you need to judge people individually and not in a group. If I happily set up an Orwellian nightmare in TGE, I think it best to dismantle that now that I am gone. Again, my opinion. He left because he was deeply dissatisfied with how TGE was run, wanted to kick out Fred and install a new government but I informed on him before his coup got off the ground. I think that covers the broad details sans la wafflé. A quick PM will cover the rest of the details.
  4. When speaking on the OWF and answering criticism, whether constructive or otherwise, you need to use a certain amount of decorum as you represent your alliance here. OOC attacks on people don't win you brownie point nor does perambulating around the idea of how to coup your leader. As I wrote swathes of the current constitution myself, the reality is that TGE role-play an actual Empire where the monarch holds power until such time as he dies or abdicates. As he has always been the forum moderator you could set up your own and call yourself TGE mark II if you wish. Thats the reality. Simply put, you can't coup him because it then stops being TGE (which is more or less copyrighted to Fred) and I doubt very much WAPA will get involved in a civil war. The only other option is forming your own Alliance. And no, I'm not back in TGE. I have my own little alliance in accordance to what I said above. Excuse the waffle.
  5. I should have said straight to your face I was in opposition to you but I fell back on convention. C'est la vie. I was Minister for Colonial Affairs during the whole Mitteleuropa disaster and it was a shambles. Poorly thought out and left to me to try and turn into a functioning entity. We were utterly incapable of taking on half-a-dozen protectorates or colonies or whatever but I should have been upfront about what was going on -it was my responsibility and I handled it badly. Accepted. The attack on Mao/Admiral Band was a stupid stunt but I thought he was deleting his nation in accordance with his nation bio. I always got on well with the guy but in this instance, I had no malicious intent and hope my reparations to RoA goes some way to making up for that. I have apologized through their MoFA for the act. As for Fred's claim I was his 'agent' - that is a gross distortion of my role in TGE and overlooks much of my other work in Empire. I'm not going to whine about it and glibly say I was following orders. If that's what he and others think - than so be it. I acted in accordance to the prevailing climate at the time and made human mistakes and errors of judgment. Its time I owned up to my actions - even at the end when it should have been done much earlier and offer apologies where they are due. If you vouched for me then I believe I repaid TSI - when some of their nations turned tail on the eve of battle I was first into the trenches and then kept going with TPF afterwards until my nation was obliterated. A small thing perhaps but worth remembering.
  6. Which I accept as mentioned in my post - I was head of security there and I am owning up to the fact. I simply offer my apologies to those I unjustly offended but am not expecting a round of applause from the gallery. I see some of the stuff being said here and the criticism should be properly placed - partly towards me certainly. Its not right I avoid the blame and I own up to that but its up to others to judge whether I'm being sincere. I am but its your right to disagree and you have your own reasons to do so. You can email me for a chat if you so wish.
  7. I get word about this and on first glace, I'm utterly appalled. Jordan/GK - you misunderstand or you are simply twisting my words (more likely) - I didnt want any of you guys as "farms." That's what actually rankles the most from your post. I actually knew most of the leaders and that wasn't my intention - but we had 5 colonies/whatever on the books and you yourself would admit that TKP was a failed entity. The whole thing was a error of judgment and the whole purpose of this document you posted was to try to curb any further expansion. In a way it worked and my last act as Minister of Colonial Affairs was to bring down the curtain on the whole thing. The surviving members were granted PIAT's (TRE & tCoC) and that is the current protection policy of TGE. Not this document. It is redundant because Mitteleuropa no longer exists. I have dragged this off topic - on the matter of blackouts and the like I will say that I disagree with that. My judgment is often shaky and things are not always as clear-cut as they might seem - propaganda exists for a reason and I have used it many times but propaganda is only ever my truth and not always an absolute truth such as death and taxes. I had a part to play in many of these events and I think it imperative for people to come to some form of detente now. There is no cause for banning and slandering people you dont know or for RL friends falling out. End this ludicrous ban and the cold-war because its not worth it - its utterly redundant. There have been many times when I did some stupid things myself because I thought it was the right thing to do at the time but it turned the game into a miserable chore. Much of invective against TGE should be aimed towards me as I acted as head of security and, for a time, Minister for the Colonies there on and off over the course of fourteen months. I own up fully to mistakes made and apologize unreservedly for serious errors of judgment on my part. Reinhard Scheer/ Col. Kurtz, etc.

  9. What a crock this all is. For the tl/dr brigade, this come down to former members of TGE who think the rest of us are retards for sticking around and putting up with Emperor Fred. "Someday, your eye's will be opened!" says one former Chancellor. Give us a break for Christ's sake... Constructive criticism on the Constitution seemingly has been put on the back-burner but from what I have gleaned, you are turning around to guys who are only in their jobs a few weeks and giving them a bit of stick when your real target is Fred (or Vlad) And fine, Fred does things his own way and people don't like that and have a bit of a grudge now and yes, maybe we will try and coup him again for the lulz but to be honest it isn't really about Fred, if you can dig it? There are people who are happy in TGE now - you might think them naive, which is all rather insulting but for me, I'm sticking around because TGE works for me at the moment, to hang out and just chill. Which is what a lot of people posting in this thread should do. If people are happy in TGE and doing their own thing, that's their right, and they are putting a lot of work into the place. I see the work August and Alfred are doing and Valde - its a lot. As a game, we mostly come on here to chill out and just, you know, relax. If we don't get on with someone, we leave, whatever but those that stay, respect their right to do so. And all this stemmed from our posting of a Constitution and to be honest, 90% of these posts have nothing to do with that - people have a problem with our wording about not allowing W/S into the place? We've had that for sixteen months and you all joined and signed up to TGE with that wording in place. Given our experience, we felt it necessary. If people start posting stuff on the forum which is inflammatory and racist, it gives us the legal right to sack them. And that seems fair. Perhaps it could be worded better - we'll take that on board but enough already. The thread has been derailed enough - we posted it, we'll take the hits but kindly focus on the Constitution and that goes for everybody. The rest of the issues can be debated endlessly on private channels for those who really give a fu-k.
  10. After the recent schism, where a number of Government officials (and high ranking NS nations left) we were down to about 90 members and 1.3 million NS it's true, but in recent weeks, we have been assiduously attempting to turn that around and have reached three figure membership again and an increase of some 500,000 NS. It's a start and reflects the tireless work that our members have been putting into TGE. It's not something we are shouting about from the rooftops - there's work done but much more to do - but still, for a niche alliance that isn't half bad. This has been on our books, more or less, since our inception. As a German themed alliance, sadly, we had some bad experiences in the past and this simply gets matters out in the open. It is not meant to act as a pervasive just cause for spying on people's RL activities, merely an acknowledgment of where we stand. I heard about this and the former high-ranking official you speak of brought it to my attention. I have always regarded that official as a friend. It's regrettable but I only heard it from said official so its not something that I've seen paraded around. If you forward some screenshots of a TGE member making that accusation (to my private mail) then it would be appreciated. There are any God's amount of rumors and nonsense floating around this place and I never have paid much heed to any of it - you will agree it's a waste of time and such things gain currency only by exposure. For our size, we've had a somewhat tumultuous history but it's still a game and our interest now lie in rebuilding, reforming and re-adjusting. We are not what you might call an openly aggressive alliance and our members don't make a habit of being discourteous on the forums here. True, what goes on in IRC is another matter but from what I can see, we are getting on with things. True, tensions sometimes run high (as in any other alliance) but we have our own concerns and things are going well enough at the moment. Such is where our attention lies, not I might add, in turning back a well worn clock. Your opinions are as valid as the next man's and I hope I have addressed some of them.
  11. At close to 5000 words, I guess this must be some kind of record... we certainly are fastidious when it comes down to our Constitution... anyhow yay us and thanks for the congratulations, very heart-warming.
  12. The Emperor let it be know that he would be preoccupied for the summer for reasons mentioned above. The previous Chancellor assumed his duties and he was supported by his vice-Chancellor. With the resignation of both, along with other key members of Government, it left a vacuum. The decision about installing a temporary Regent was an unanimous one, taken by the surviving Ministers and then endorsed by the Emperor himself. All rather democratic and the decision was based upon a number of key factors with stability being a foremost concern as you can imagine. I hope this clarifies matters. Thank you again for your words of support.
  13. I'm just trying to be thorough Mr Gooseberry... er, Mr MacDonald. If in doubt: obfuscate.
  14. The protectorate bloc called Mitteleuropa was dismantled and the remaining two colonies were offered a PIAT instead - it just took us a while to announce it, what with the confusion and mass resignations and all. Thanks for your words of support. Or Karla as she is better know on IRC. I think our beleaguered MoFA left out that key letter. Thank you for your words of support. Out of character perhaps but the erstwhile Kaiser will be away for a swathe of the summer engaged in the rather more immediate and pressing task of saving up for University. A slight divergence of agreement with the previous incumbent necessitated something of a radical adjustment for the Empire, where it was decided that the Emperor's sister should hold the role of Regent or Empress Regent until his return. Thank you for your kind words of support. The first time actually but the confusion stems from the fact that there is also a TRE-TGE PIAT and now a TRE-tCoC PIAT which complicated matters somewhat but we just like to get everything out in the open and declare our fraternal support for our Canadian brethren. Danke.
  15. A well thought out and principled constitution - my congratulations.
  16. I thank Ragnarok for their friendship and support in the past and perhaps we can rebuild these old ties again someday. We in TGE wish your alliance the very best for the future.
  17. Warmest congratulations Onwards and upwards to 2 million o/ iFOK
  18. Could I ask that this thread be kept on topic - most of us are former comrades and airing our dirty washing does none of us any favors. Try it perhaps on private channels. Other than that, thank you again for your words of support.
  19. We're getting into verbal word-play here I see But lets see if I can answer some questions as I guess I might be well-placed to do so. From what I am aware, a number of Government Minister's were unhappy at the general direction TGE was taking and felt they had no other recourse but to leave and start afresh. Yes they resigned and that decision was not taken lightly. Each of those who left had put a helluva lot of work into TGE over the months and years and we who remain, remain grateful for their service. But TGE continues and we have responsibility to our members and that is our first priority - people have stepped up and we are progressing along as best we may. Verbal slights against TGE is part of the game and its gratifying that some still care after all this time:) Otherwise, the VC slot isn't filled yet because elections were postponed until Sunday (For those who know our Constitution, they will know what I mean) and to those who posted messages of support, we thank you. We wish those departed members the very best and hope that we can build some bridges in the future. Thanks for your time.
  20. The Confederation of Canada is part of T.G.E's extended family and we wish them every best success. Protégera nos foyers et nos droits as they say...
